Confrontation

" I was actually outsmarted." Damien walked out of the Golden Crow Lightning Valley with a chilling smile. He thought he had everything under control and finding the perpetrator was just a matter of time and a bit of effort on his part. However he was wrong.

" I'm pretty sure she knew I was here all this time." He smiled as he kept on thinking.

" Oh well, what's done is done now. I thought I'd have to travel to the God realm, but it I guess that won't be necessary now. Saves me a lot of time by the way." He turned and looked at Huan Caiyi who was following behind him quietly.

" Do you want to come with me? Or stay here?" He uttered with a serious look. He just realized that, all the people he had come in contact with were in potential danger.

" I want to stay here and rule my people. I'm sorry." She smiled apologetically. " Okay great. " He pointed his finger, before a blinding light shot into her forehead. " Tell Yun Canghai that I have to leave for something urgent." He smiled after that and vanished mysteriously.

Scarlet Dragon Mountain Range, or what remained of it....

Ah Diao was sitting in front of his cave with a solemn look in his face. Today he felt a bad omen, as if something extraordinarily evil was going to happen. He couldn't sense anything now, but he was sure of what he felt. It was catastrophic, and the only person he could feel that level of danger from was his master.

" Could it be that an enemy of Master's is going to appear?" His ruby red eyes glanced into the empty void, as he felt the danger level increase by a notch. He wasn't worried about himself, rather he was worried about his master and Long Feng.

" Senior, can I help you with anything?" He heard a soothing voice from behind him which caused his taut shoulders to relax involuntarily. " I'm fine Long Feng. Just worried." He gazed at her softly, which caused her to blush.

" Listen to me Long Feng, whenever happens later on, I want you to run, run as far as you can and find master. Only he can make it right." He made a bold move, taking a step closer he cupped her cheek and smiled encouragingly.

" Nothing is going to happen. Everything would be fine. Master will be here soon." Seeing how close he was, she couldn't resist and kissed him, after which she smiled back.

" How wonderful. The union of two beautiful mortal creatures. Always brings tears to my eyes." Suddenly, a slight chuckle rang out, before a young lady, about 16 years of age appeared with a mocking smile.

" I wouldn't have interfered with your lives, however, he chose to interfere with mine, twisting and bending the fate of my realm to his whims. Someone's gotta pay for that." She began smiling sadistically, as he glared at them.

" Leave now!!!" Damien snapped his finger and a purplish black portal appeared behind him. " But what about you. I won't leave!!" Long Feng held unto his hand unwilling to let go.

" I said leave now!!" With a commanding roar, an aura burst of him which pushed her into the portal. " No!!!!" Her face was filled with uncontrollable tears as she fell into the void as was carried away at blinding speed.

" Find master, only he can stop her. Live well, I love you." However, as she was being pulled into the void, she heard a familiar voice in her mind. Her shocked expression couldn't help but breakdown as she sobbed in pain.

" How noble. Sacrificing yourself to save someone you love. However, who's going to save you now." She smiled sadistically and pointed her finger . Soon, a powerful cosmic energy began to gather at her fingertips.

Taking in a deep breath, Ah Diao remained calm. If he was going to die. He would die fighting. " You know, if my master was here, he would've destroyed you with a single punch, because he is the true honored one." Ah Diao grinned, as his real cultivation burst out, rippling through the space time continuum.

" You broke through to the divine realm? Impressive." The lady in black smiled as the cosmic energy at her fingertips doubled.

" Now Die!" " Boom!!!" A single bolt of the cosmic energy burst out, creating a massive hole in space time and destroying the very foundations of the Blue Pole Star.

Ah Diao didn't wait for his death. With a hand seal, he condensed space and time around him to a little point. " Boom!!" An explosion akin to a supernova burst out, tanking the cosmic energy from the lady in black as she looked in with a surprised expression....

Traveling through the void at light speed, Damien suddenly felt a heart throb, which made him come to an abrupt stop.

" Ah Diao?" The sensation increased further, accompanied by a sense of grief and loss.

" Sigh. " Damien sighed and turned around. He then saw a blinding light moving towards him at fast speeds. Quickly intercepting it, he saw Long Feng with a messy appearance and her face wet with tears. " Young master. Ah Diao he- he..." She choked on her words as she cried in Damien's embrace.

" He really outdid himself this time." Damien smiled melancholically. " It's alright Long Feng. I'll get him back." Damien patted her back as they rushed back to the Scarlet Dragon Mountain Range.

With a wooshing sound, Damien and Long Feng reappeared in the Mountain Range. There, they witnessed ruins and remains of what was once a proud Mountain range. The entire place was decimated, as if someone had launched hundred nukes to the area at once.

Walking through the ruins with a solemn expression, Damien saw a mysterious lady in black sitting ahead holding unto what looked like a golden heart that was beating faintly in her palm.

Damien and Long Feng walked ahead and when Long Feng saw the scene, she immediately collapsed. Damien sighed and placed her body on a comfortable silver bed which he materialized.

" We finally meet, traverser of worlds. " She smiled to him as she tossed the golden heart to him. Damien examined where they stood right now or the point of impact and realized that, the whole place was reduced to its atoms. It seemed like there was an intense collision of laws at this particular point. Damien could see particles of cosmic energy and space time rippling around him.

" Sigh. Should I call you Ancestral Goddess or Xiao Lingxi?" Damien sighed and caught Ah Diaos heart. He materialized a container and carefully placed it in, after which he formed a chair and sat down with his legs crossed, and a bunch of fruits in his hand.

" I must admit. I really admire your boldness. Not many can act this way in front of me. Not even your fellow traversers were this relaxed when they faced me. And I left none alive." She smiled sadistically.

" Hehehe. Damien chuckled and bit on his peach. So why all this mess? You could've done whatever you wanted as it is your world. What's with all the machinations and scheming." He asked after adjusting his glasses.

" Why? You really have the gall to ask me why?! I was born from the nothingness, I was the ruler of all, and someday, it's revealed to me that I'm just a figment of a mortal mans imagination. That my very desires, wants and will is all based on what a fickle mortal man had created, a written script. You have no idea how that feels." Her face twisted menacingly as she spoke with anger.

" So who told you that you were a figment of mans imagination? No matter how strong you are, you wouldn't be able to break the boundary wall of your universe. " Damien bit on his peach, completely unconcerned by her so called feelings.

" Since you're going to kill me anyway, at least allow me the pleasure of knowing your grand plan and how it began." Damien mockingly smiled.
