CHAPTER 7: Uh oh...

I sat down in the sofa, followed by a groan as i touched my wound that was slowly healing. I then heard Gus shouting, and I saw him running out of the house. And I didn't do anything to stop it. The kid deserves to know the truth even if it hurts.

Shortly after, Gus followed Jepp and Bear. Jepp looked at me with a frustrated expression and said. "Dude! Why didn't you stop him?!"

I just replied with a shrug and continued to sip some blueberry wine. And with a huff, Jepp and Bear left to find Gus.

After a few minutes, Judy then appeared and said, "Why are you rude to everyone?" I raised an eyebrow and replied, "But I'm not rude to everyone." I added."Plus, bear is like me. She craves for knowledge, and she's also close to adulthood. " Then Judy retorted."Wha!? She's not like you!" As she pointed fingers at me, she then added,"Like how can you stay up there for 1 week! If not for me bringing you something to eat and drink, you would probably be rotting up there right now as we speak!" And before she can continue

We saw Bear come back and head straight into the attic

Judy then looked back at me and said, "This conversation is not over." She then followed Bear, and I was alone again in the living room. My thoughts then went back to my little sister. 'I wonder if she's doing great at the preserve... I may have to visit her once in a while if I ever figure out where the exact location of the preserve is.'

A few moments passed, and Judy came down carrying stuff then followed by Bear, who was holding a phone. I also found it while I was reading the Reasearch, though I never bothered to fix it as it might be traced and imagine if they got their hands on those documents.

Judy then looked at Bear and said, "Huh. I thought they would be back by now." Bear then smiled and replied,"Gus is a stubborn kid but sweet."

With Bear trying to fix the phone while Judy is brewing up some tea, I decided to join them.

"You make a good team, you three."

Judy complimented their teamwork as she handed a cup of tea to both of us.

"Yeah, well, we did," said Bear she then added, "If I ever see them again."

"What's your name, sweetie? Judy questioned as she sipped some of her tea

"I told you... it's Bear."

"I know... but no loving parent names their child Bear."

Judy chuckles and once again asked "So, what's your real name?"

"Look, I know we burst into your life out of the blue, but I'm not looking to make friends."

I scoffed under my breath and muttered. "Rude..."

"How old were you when it happened?" Judy still tries to begin a conversation with her.

"I was six... I don't remember much, so..."

"And your family?"

This time, I tuned out both of them as I see this where this conversation is going. But then I heard Bear say.

"...we made a family of kids like us. Till she betrayed me, and then I was alone again." As soon as she said that, my mind pictured the animal army ambushing me from all sides though I still defeated them, but I got a gunshot in the stomach I'm return.

"My name's Becky... Rebecca Walker. But my parents called me their little Becky Bear." I smirked as I found a way to tease Bear or Becky.

"You can't give up on your sister, Becky." Thay sentence hit me hard as I remembered that I knocked my sister out so that she'll feel safe and comfortable.

"If Gus can make it back here after all these years, you never know what you can find if you look hard enough." Then the phone beeped, and we all looked at it.

"Holy shit." Said Bear.

"Language." I said, but they ignored me and kept looking at the phone.

"I'm gonna take this outside the signal there might be better" and with that Bear went out and Judy began preparing our dinner and a couple hours pass and I decided to head outside to see if Bear got any signal but before I could open the front door Bear opened it from the other side "Where's Judy" she hurily said Judy then emerged from the kitchen "What? What is it?" Confused as to why she is needed.

"I talked to Birdie," said Bear, shocking both of us.

"What!? she's alive? Where is she? Is she safe?" Judy screamed, relieved that her friend is still alive. I then exitedly said, "Really! You spoke to Doctor Miller!? Did she tell you anything about her findings?" As soon as those words came out, Bear and Judy looked at me. As the silence ensues, Bear decided to break it and said, "She said that she left some tape for Gus. It's titled Shady Grove." Judy then perked up and said,"Oh! To the attic!" As we quickly approached the attic, Bear also told us the other stuff that Dr. Miller said like how Gus is and that the phone is now currently being traced by a tracker the moment it turned on.

We searched for it, and when Bear found it, a light shone through the window, and a sound of vehicles echoes outside. "Last men." Judy shakily said. "Stay here. I'll deal with them." I got up and headed towards the door, but suddenly Judy ran and reached to the door first and closed it. "You guys stay here. I'll deal with them. You get that cassette to Gus." Bear then banged on the door.

"What!? No! I'll help you, we can handle them with us three!"

Judy's muffled voice sounded."Sorry kids, you are too young to die... I have lived longer than the two of you. Plus, you both have to find your sister. " I frowned and said,"You don't wanna meet Birdie?" Judy then let out a small laugh."Just say hi for me." And with that, her footstep recedes, and Bear got up and started to escape through the window. She then looked at me and said, "Hey! Come on, let's get this to Gus." I shook my head and replied."Sorry, Bear, but I gotta burn this research before the last men find out about this." She nodded and went out and I started to light the documents on fire and while that's on going I destroyed the door and went doorstairs to save Judy 'I'm not gonna let her die' I firmly thought.

I then saw Judy firing the flamethrower blindly, and one guy aimed at her, but I, ran out and tackled her out of the way and hid both of us behind a table."Why are you here!?"

"Saving your ass." I muttered as I grabbed her head and made her duck saving her from a bullet.

"No! It's fine! Just go you still need to see your sister!"

"Don't you also want to see Birdie?"

"Just tell her I said hi." She said.

"That last words of yours... say that to her yourself. I'm not a messager, " I said while looking where we could exit safely without being spotted. "But what about the resea-" I cut her off and responded, "No time! Later!" I helped her get up, and we ran through the backdoor as we ran. I looked around for any sign of Bear, but unfortunately, nothing."Come on, I know a place," I said as I looked at the tired and disheveled Judy. "Sure."

As we reached the end of the woods filled with a large pile of shrubs and dried leaves, I put Judy down and cleared the pile, revealing a pickup truck that I fixed when I'm bored. I then held Judy up and helped her get inside the pickup truck. As we both were inside, she suddenly looked at me and asked, "Is this why you have been disappearing?" I looked at her and shrugged in response as I started the engine.

I drove for 5 hours straight while Judy gets some of her beauty rest. And we finally arrived at Hawkins and stopped at a familiar cabin. Judy then woke from her slumber.

"Oh, how convenient you're awake!" I said as I proceeded to get out of the pickup. With Judy behind me powerwalking to catch up and as she reaches me, she questions, "Where are we?" I then replied,"where I mostly grew up, Indianna." Judy's eyes widened and said,"You mean where the wraight of winter is mostly active?" I rolled my eyes and casually said,"You don't need to worry about that."

Judy recoiled in shock seeing me just casually dismissing an individual who is equally terrifying as the Last Men. "Wha- what do you mean not to worry!? We could get killed, and we wouldn't even know!" Said Judy filled with hysteria, and I just ignored her and went inside my cabin. I inhaled and a wave of relaxation courses through m-.

"Hey!" Said Judy while snapping her finger. "Why are you not worried about this Wraight of winter? It's almost like you know who they are."

I looked at her and smiled. "Of course I do know who him."

Judy muttered, "Really? Who?"

"Me," I pointed finger at myself as I smirked arrogantly.

"..."

Judy then slowly opened her mouth to speak.

"If you are who you said you are then... why did you not kill those guys back at Redrocks?"

I sighed and said, "Because I can't." I looked at her and she had the look of 'please explain because I don't understand a fuck.'

"To put it simply we are outnumbered and those tales that you heard that I killed those Last Men. I did it with traps and trickery plus I prepared for that scenario. and I'm not alone..." I looked down ashamed as a minute before I'm boasting my title.

"You're a fraud" said Judy with clear disgust on her voice. Then...

*click, click...

My alarm ranged and I grabbed Judy and ducked behind the sofa.

"Shh" I put my hands over her lips as to prevent her from making a noise. I then slowly peeked out and saw a silhouette of a man the window. I turned to Judy and said, "There seems to be only one intruder you can defend yourself, right?" Judy nods, and I proceeded to raise the cushion of the sofa and grabbed a pistol and a Swiss army knife that I gave to Judy.

*Bam!

The front door opened forcefully, and heavy footsteps followed.

"Hey, system did the film stranger things also happenedin this world?." The intruder said to no one with a dry and cold tone.

'System? The hell is this dude spouting? Is he high?' I inwardly contemplated and saw Judy recoiled in confusion, so I peeked out underneath the sofa and saw the man go into the kitchen. I then grabbed Judy into my room and whispered "Stay here, if I need your help you would know." Judy nodded and didn't argued.

I slowly creeped my way into the kitchen without the man spotting me.

"Hey, system let me buy the absolute cure. I'm pretty sure I got enough points for it." The man said as he rummaged for any consumables, and as I heard what he said, I stopped. 'Seriously, is this guy good or what? Wait... is he?'

I then saw him stop his rummaging and reach for his pocket, and as he withdrew his hand, he was holding a tiny bottle that was glowing red.

'Is that the absolute cure or whatnot?' I shook my head and proceeded to go behind him, and as I raised my hand, holding the gun to kill him. He strangely blocked it without looking.

I backed away quickly and assumed my stance, ready to go hand in hand.

The man looked at me and said, "That's not a nice way to greet someone." he then raised his hand and said, "System identify." I frowned as it now confirmed my suspicions 'He's an anomaly... like me.'

The man smirks and spoke "Heh, your life is worth alot of points Wraight of Winter" I stayed silent as I carefully observed him. He then rushed forward tackling me to the floor. "HAHAHAHAHA in exchange for your life I can rest easy for the rest of my life!" He said as he raises his right arm to punch me.

I then kneed him in the nuts and I watched as he slump down in pain. I got up and once again assumed my stance.

He slowly stood up and went for a punch at my side which I evaded and retaliated with a faint followed by a punch in the face which made him back up a couple of steps and I didn't stop as I rushed and kicked his right arm immobilized him from using it.

"AAAARGH You Fucker! Just wait, and I'll feed you shit with my system." The man growled like a child throwing a tantrum. He then proceeded to give a slippy left hook I then grabbed it and pulled him to get closer to me and headbutt him.

"Ugh... you f-fucker..." he said and passed out while slamming face first on the floor.

I scoff as I looked at the unconscious man before me as we finished out fig- no its more like a scuffle.

"You talk too much for someone who couldn't even last for a minute"

"Judy its safe you can come out now. Also help me this this man up we got some interrogation to do. "
