Draco The great

"Nope," Agustus said without missing a beat.

"What!?"

Marcus Flint was astonished at his quick reply. Quidditch was the wizarding world's favourite sport, apart from duelling competitions. He was sure that Agustus would accept his offer of joining the Slytherin Quidditch team. He didn't expect such a swift rejection.

Dora, on the other hand, knew her boyfriend loved flying but didn't care much for Quidditch, so she was not surprised, she took wasn't interested in that sport, twins and Cedric on the other hand were big fans of Quidditch.

Draco looked aghast, as if someone had committed a sin in front of him. He was glaring at Agustus. He had vowed to become a better seeker than Potter and make his house greater than House Peverell.

Flint composed himself. He had known Agustus for quite a while and he knew how to accept a denial.

"Alright, it would have been good to play with you, but it's alright," he said and left them both, as today Slytherin had Quidditch practice.

They got up and walked to the Room of Requirement, and started their duelling training together. Dora was improving steadily. Her hair colour had stopped changing, as she had gained control over her powers due to her really strong Occlumency.

Occlumency was something that He didn't like personally, but he had to train her in the mind arts. He had made her promise to turn off her shields during family time.

After five or six really challenging sessions of magic duelling, Dora went to shower and rest in her dorm, and he went to his room, where Skadi was waiting for him. She had frozen him in his sleep once, after he forgot to play with her. She had turned into a spoiled brat. A cute brat.

As he entered his room, he saw a blue ice phoenix playing with ice crystals.

Chirrrp

Seeing him, she started to chirp and flew towards him.

Agustus smiled, seeing her, and caught her in his arms and petted her. "Alright, girl, we are going to play freeze the frisbee."

She looked at him and chirped happily, as that was her favourite game.

Taking out a frisbee from his trunk and threw it in the air. Skadi flew after it, breathing a blast of ice that froze the frisbee in mid-air. She then caught it with her beak and brought it back to him.

He praised her and threw the frisbee again, repeating the game. He enjoyed watching her fly and play.

(Draco's POV)

"Nope."

That was his answer. He had the audacity to refuse the offer to join the Slytherin Quidditch team. He had already insulted me once, and now he was doing it again with the most important thing in my life.

I felt my blood boil, I couldn't stand him. Potter and his pathetic friends, the Weasleys and that mudblood Granger due to her showing off in class. And now Heir Peverell.

He was the reason why those blood traitors were sitting at the Slytherin table and eating with us. How could nobody say anything? Oh, it must be because of that incident in the first year, beat down of Ash Bruke.

I wrote to my father about this problem, and he told me to ignore it and to stay away from Heir Peverell. He said he was too powerful and influential, and that it was better to avoid any conflict with him.

But how could I, Heir Malfoy of an ancient and noble family, ignore this? How could I let him get away with everything? But I was powerless against him. He had the support of the Minister of Magic.

I couldn't even say anything to his friends, due to fear. So I had decided to make the life of Potter and his gang miserable. I would mock them, hex them, and challenge them at every opportunity.

He said I was nothing compared to Potter, a half blood, that I was just a spoiled brat who relied on my father's money and influence. I would prove him wrong. I would show him that I was better than Potter in every way.

I looked ahead to see Heir Greengrass, but she was nowhere to be found. She was a strange girl, always reading in the library and not paying any attention to the great Quidditch stories about the last cup. The Greengrass family had become very prosperous lately, and my father had asked me to impress Heir Greengrass. He said she would make a good match for me, but she was so bland and cold. She never smiled or laughed, she never showed any emotion.

Pansy was more lively than her. She was always by my side, laughing at my jokes and complimenting me. I had to do something about Heir Greengrass. Maybe if I became a great seeker, she would notice me. Maybe that would break her cold demeanor. It surely would, after all, not everyone was like Heir Peverell, who disliked the best game in the world.

Anyway, I had to hurry up and go to watch the Slytherin practice. I had to prepare myself. I had to beat Potter and his team. I had to make Heir Peverell regret his words. I had to make my father proud. I had to be the best.

(Hermione's POV)

It had been a few days since the incident in the Great Hall, when I asked the question to Agustus. My roommates had been acting weird since then, they barely spoke to me. Ron and Harry had been busy with Quidditch.

Harry had been chosen as a seeker, after he had flown on a broom without permission and caught Neville's Remembrall. Ron, on the other hand, was a very poor student. He always asked his friends for their homework to copy.

I had started spending my whole day in the library after classes and on weekends. Reading books was the only thing that made me happy. The librarian, Madam Pince, was very strict and loved books as much as I did.

As I walked towards the Gryffindor table, I saw Heir Peverell and Tonks talking. They were both in their third year, and they were very popular. I remembered how he had pinched my nose on the second day of school, when I had tried to ask him. I didn't like him. He was a bully.

As I was having my breakfast and looking at the Slytherin table, Ron and Harry arrived at the table. Ron sat down and began eating, stuffing his mouth with food. Seeing him eat, I lost my appetite.

Harry looked at me and said, "Have you done the potions assignment, Hermione?"

Hearing him, Ron's ears perked up. He was obviously hoping to copy from me too.

Oh, I knew where this was going. Harry Potter, who was supposed to be the savior of the wizarding world, was asking me for my assignment. He had barely paid any attention in class, and he had no interest in learning.

I looked at him and said, "I have, but I won't give it to you."

Harry looked a little down and Ron looked at him with disdain and said, "Told you, mate. She would never help you."

Harry simply nodded at him. I was fuming. Was he expecting me to help him? Did he think I was his personal tutor?

I was done with these guys. Honestly, Peverell was better than Ron. At least he didn't go out of his way to ruin my day. He just ignored me, which was fine by me.

I got up, picked up my books, and left for the library. I didn't need them. I had my books, don't need friends.
