I am re-reading all the chapters related to this story arc and so I haven't made a list of all the characters that are mentioned to belong to each Faction during the exploration. I will continue to update this specific chapter each day until the Piece of Immortal Lands arc ends. I will also post new versions of this every few days to keep it updated and consistent so u don't always have to go back to Auxiliary chapter.

Tanith stayed behind with Godwyn + Fortissax and Rennala to manage the entire kingdom's politics in the others absence. Tanith's Crucible Knight remained to protect her which is why there are only 15 of the 16 Crucible Knights going to New Continent (Piece of Immortal Lands is called New Continent).

Tanith is to deal with The Recusants (the military force of Rykard) and the Volcano Manor along with Mt.Gelmir in Rykard's absence.

Godwyn manages Leyndell.

Serosh manages Limgrave in Godfrey's absence.

Fortissax deals with the Dragon Cult and Farum Azula.

Rennala with her territory Liurnia.

The named Dragons govern Aeonia (which because Malenia was free of the Scarlet Rot, and never broke Miquella's Needle in his battle with Radahn to unleash the Scarlet Rot nuke unlike the original timeline, Aeonia never became known as Caelid to honor Radahn cause it was the land he ruled over before the Scarlet Rot ate away at his mind.)

Ps lore - The reason why Malenia fights the player in game is because the Scarlet Rot is eating her mind away and she is losing her sanity and is barely able to remember who she is since the Haligtree is helping her to still stay herself but is failing since Miquella was kidnapped by Mohg. 

You know in the cutscene where it shows Malenia stabbing herself with her own Blade when her arm was destroyed? That is her stabbing both Radahn and her breaking the Miquella's Needle she had on purpose which might look like she is stabbing herself but it was in order to destroy Miquella's Needle.

Once Miquella's Needle was destroyed, Malenia was able to use the Scarlet Rot nuke against Radahn.

The Needle is found in that very same spot she had broken and dropped it by defeating the boss there to obtain it.

To do Milicent's questline u must give the Needle to Gowry who will repair it and tell u to give it to Milicent.

Milicent is suffering from the Scarlet Rot as well, she has no memories because of it and is very confused in general. If u give the Needle to her, she will stab it into herself if u tell her to. Once she does when u talk to her next time and throughout the game, her memories will slowly come back to her because the Needle is helpingbher resist the Scarlet Rot's influence on her body and mind.

Milicent dies at the end of her questline in two ways, if u help her at the end then she will remove the Needle personally and eventually die from the Scarlet Rot.

Hope this informed u Eldsn Ring players here of the real reason Malenia attacks the player and why the theory by the community of being unable to tell Malenia that Miquella is actually at Mohgwyn Palace is impossible in game.
