Nobels and Whacky Marriage Laws

I made changes to chapter 1 and the hypnosis in chapter 2 and also made some minor changes here and there the minor changes are not of much important just helo the story flow smother.

I'll also write a small auxiliary chapter to introduce world setting.

Their mother was once a crown princess who had refused the right of succession of the throne and took on the title of Duchess and instead helped her younger brother obtain the throne.

The current Empire had 3 Ducal houses and two Marquise houses which were the main leading noble houses in the Empire.

It was a well known fact that the Magnus household was allied with the Royal family but the issue was that the current emperor only have a single heir who was a princess, and the Emperor himself currently had no Empress as the previous empress had died long ago, due to which there were quite a few noble houses who wanted to make a connection with them through marriage.

Their intentions to gain power were as clear as the sun in the sky. In all honesty, this problem would not even exist if the Emperor was willing to have another heir or take another empress, however the problem was that the Emperor truly loved his first wife and refused to take any other wives or concubines.

The emperor also refused to remarry after her unfortunate death during childbirth. It was more often than not that their mother had to go to the royal castle to help her brother keep the Nobels at bay.

This was one of the reasons that despite the both of them being at an age where it wouldn't be strange that they had a partner to which they had been engaged to, were still single as anyone marrying into the Magnus family would become a relative of the Royal family.

At the very least they wouldn't have to worry about the Duke family of the north as they were a group of ancient nobles that believed in bloodline purity and it was common practice in their family for siblings to get married to each other. In fact, there were many other house's which followed this practice.

The Empire was quite lax when it came to the matter of marriage may it be polygamy, polyandry, same sex marriage, etc. Anything goes as long as the laws were not broken.

Alex said to Aria.

"Well it's not like this is the first time this has happened so don't get upset".

"I know it's just that I didn't even get to greet her properly last night as well after my return from the academy".

Alex couldn't help but sigh in his heart sometimes his sister and mother got along so well that sometimes even he forgot that they were not blood related well not that it mattered as their mother loved and raised them both the same.

"Anyhow tell me how your time at the academy went? If I remember correctly, you went there for the magic engineering courses right.

Aria had chosen a different path as compared to that of an elemental mage although she had their father's bloodline she was more interested in walking the path of a magi crafter. They are practitioner skilled in the art of creation of various tool's ranging from mana powered weapons, artifacts to appliances used in daily life.

Alex could feel Aria's mood, brighten up much like as it always did which one might guess was the case whenever the topic related to crafting and magic relics was brought up.

Alex and Aria continued their talk over breakfast sharing stories of the time they hadn't seen each other.

As they continued to talk Alex could not help but once more be mesmerized by his sister, he could feel a dark desire for monopoly over her which he had never felt before regaining memories of his previous life.

Alex was made aware of the fact that he had changed much more than he had first thought however he was still the same person at his core due to which the thought of harming his family did not even cross his mind.

Alex decided if he was to act on this desire he had to win Aria's heart properly he could not just use the same method he used on Sophie as just hypnotizing someone whenever things didn't go his way was just courting disaster.

He also didn't trust the system enough to just blindly believe whatever it was saying, that would be plain idiotic.

After they finished their breakfast, the two of them made plans for lunch together before parting.
