Chapter 9: Discovered

Shikamaru had simply disappeared, at one moment I could feel his presence in the cave he had found and the next it was completely gone as if he wasn't even there.

I checked again by pulsing my chakra something which all anbu learn but still couldn't find him, so I ran inside the cave to try and find him, maybe he had discovered some new part of the cave or maybe he got kidnapped.

That thought just made me increase my speed even higher, I shushined into the cave, I pulsed my chakra again, my eyes widened, I felt two presences at the end of the cave.

I could hear two voices talking to each other, one sounded exactly like Shikamaru.

I was prepared to fight anyone who may be attacking my Shikamaru, but I was surprised to see a completely white raccoon talking with Shikamaru.

It could have been someone in a henge, "Shikamaru! Come here, get away from that raccoon it may be an enemy!"

~~~Shikamaru's POV~~~

After the leader of the raccoons, whose name I still hadn't learned, and I finished talking with each other and let me sign the summoning contract I was told that I had to meet the other raccoons some other time, Elder Shiroi escorted me down the stairs and back to the entrance of the cave, this cave was the only entrance located in Konoha, they told me that I could now, with the contract, reverse summon myself to their realm, there were also multiple entrances over the elemental nations, many of them inside the hidden villages.

As I was saying goodbye to Elder Shiroi a very familiar voice entered my ears.

"Shikamaru! Come here, get away from that raccoon it may be an enemy!"

It was my mom, and she thought that Elder Shiroi was an enemy.

I turned to her with the most innocent smile I could and said, "H-Hey mom, this is uhh, Elder Shiroi my summon!" sadly my voice sounded nervous and I was sure she wouldn't miss that.

I looked at her and she was looking at me with shock evident on her face, "Uh, mom, are you okay?"

Shiroi next to me was smiling cryptically as usual and said "Well hello there Miss Nara, it is nice to meet you, I am Shiroi one of the elders of the Raccoon Clan, your son has entered a contract with us, I hope this doesn't cause you any inconveniences."

My mom, who snapped out of her shock sighed as she listened to Elder Shiroi, "Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised with you anymore Shikamaru, first you were even more of a genius than the normal geniuses of the Nara clan, then you weren't lazy and even wanted to train extra, and now you have a summoning contract, what's going to be the next thing?

She sighed again and looked at Elder Shiroi, "It is also nice to meet you Shiroi-san, I am Yoshino Nara, although I am happy that Shikamaru managed to find a summoning clan for himself I will need some more explanation later on, for now, I will need to bring Shikamaru with me, I hope we see each other again soon."

As soon as she said that she grabbed my arm and shushined out of the cave.

As we reached the entrance of the forest she started slowing down, as soon as we landed she turned to me and sighed yet again, "Shikamaru it pains me to say this but what you just did really is troublesome, we are going to have to cut this survival training short and head home, your father will have to be informed of this."

I couldn't really say much as this was the first time I had ever moved so fast, I could feel that I would throw up and a headache was forming itself very quickly, sadly I didn't have any time to even slightly get used to the feeling of the shushin as she yet again grabbed my arm and shushined us back home, which luckily wasn't very far as we were on the grounds of the Nara clan, the compound of the clan wasn't very large, the forest was what took up most of the Nara clan's ground as the forest was larger than Konoha itself.

We entered the study of my father, he would usually be sitting either here or in the Hokage tower where he also had his own office, he was sitting in his chair probably going over the reports of the Jonin.

He looked up at us to see me keeling over trying not to throw up and my mother rubbing her forehead, he sighed as he knew that something troublesome had probably just happened.

"So Yoshino, what happened that needs my attention?"

My mother who just sighed for the fifth time answered, "Shikamaru managed to get a summoning contract, as the clan law that was put up by the second Hokage states that any clan that is a member of Konoha is required to report any summon that is owned by said clan, and now because Shikamaru has the Raccoon contract we must report this to the Hokage."

My father's eyes narrowed, he was most likely thinking through all the possibilities of what could happen, "We will report it, we know what happened when a lesser clan didn't report owning a summoning contract, while we wouldn't have nearly as many repercussions as they did we will still be fined heavily and the contract will be taken from Shikamaru, and keeping this secret would also impede on Shikamaru's training since now he will have to train with his summons, keeping that a secret is very hard not to mention the Hokage will probably give him some tips about training together with summons, as we don't have any summons or summoners in the clan it is better to tell the Hokage about this."

I was listening in on them talk about this, and I wasn't happy, I was planning on keeping this secret from everyone even my parents, but mom caught me and now everyone would know, what about Danzo? Or any other corrupt members of the council? I didn't have any choice about this either as we were already shushining to what I could guess was the Hokage's office.

And yes the Hokage will know about his summons and yes I know this isn't optimal but it is the most realistic thing that could've happened, next chapter will be talks with the Hokage.
