After spending as much time with Anko as he possibly could, Mizuki realized that he would need to get up and leave in order to participate in the Semifinals of the exam.
Sighing in regret, the boy slowly got up and released her hand, which caused the unconscious Anko to shift slightly and groan, clearly disheartened at the sudden lack of warmth.
Mizuki: "Sorry Anko, I'll be back in a bit"
Saying those words, Mizuki turned and walked out, a look of focus evident in his mind, focused on but one task.
Making Idate Suffer.
. . . . . .
Doto: "We will now be beginning the semifinal match ups"
Doto: "For our first match, we have Mizuki vs Idate"
Idate: "Surrender now Mizuki, or else I will do worse than what I did to the bitch last round"
Mizuki: "Maybe you can try saying those words after you are not on steroids."
Doto: "Allright, Allright, You both ready boys?"
Idate: "Yes."
Mizuki: "Yup"
Doto: "Ok then, you may now begin!"
Idate is the one who made the first move, as he quickly performed a series of hand seals before exhaling, with it shooting out several spheres of compressed air, all of which were strategically fired in order to make it so that Mizuki had no escape routes.
Idate: {Futon: Vacuum Sphere!}
Seeing the oncoming attack Mizuki simply countered by casting a jutsu of his own.
Mizuki: {Doton: Mud Wall!}
A slab of earth emerged from the ground, which proceed to catch two of the wind bullets head on.
The wall ended up holding, although it was now clearly fragile, with spider web like cracks spreading across the entire structure.
Using the blindspot created by the wall to his advantage Mizuki leapt into the air before creating another earth wall, this one directly underneath his feet.
Using the wall to his advantage, Mizuki was able to dramatically increase his jump height, as he was now nearing the ceiling of the arena.
Mizuki than turned at a downwards angle, seeing the surprised look on the boy's face.
Mizuki aimed for the boy as he slowly weaved the signs for the fireball jutsu, although when he cupped his hands to do so, there was simply nothing, just a gust of air.
Seeing that no jutsu had emerged, and that the wide grin never left Mizuki's face, even as he rapidly approached the ground towards Idate and was losing his aerial advantage, a bad feeling emerged in Idate's stomach.
Mizuki was planning something.
Trusting his instinct, Idate tried to move out of the way, only to realize that he could not.
Looking down, he saw a pair of hands sprouting out of the earth, grabbing onto his ankles and forcing him to stay in his position.
With surprise overtaking him, Idate turned back only to see that the Mizuki in the air was now within an arm's reach, with an ear to ear grin on his face.
As Mizuki grew closer and closer, Mizuki said a word that was so quiet that nobody but those exceptionally close to him could here it.
So that only Idate can hear it.
Mizuki: "Boom Bitch"
As he said those words, the Mizuki in front of him detonated in a large explosion, the ground in a two meter range evaporated, with a three meter radius outside of the crater cracked beyond belief.
At this time, the real Mizuki walked out from behind the earth wall, a smile still evident on his face, clearly happy that his plan had worked.
He had sent one shadow clone under the ground using the headhunter jutsu in order to trap him, whilst using another as the main attack force, by using his exploding shadow clone technique.
Despite the pain created by the technique as a side effect, as the experience of blowing himself up was transferred from the shadow clone to Mizuki, one would never be able to tell just by looking at him.
Mizuki stared at the burned and disfigured body across from him, not a shred of sympathy evident on his face.
Even if he was sure that the previous combo dealt massive damage, a student of Orochimaru wouldn't just simply die.
After all, Orochimaru was an absolute cockroach
Sure enough, the burnt "corpse" simply peeled off it's skin, much like a snake does, to reveal a perfectly healthy, albeit worn out, Idate.
Idate now looked at Mizuki with a look of surprise, clearly shocked that somebody was able to reduce him to such a state.
Idate: "I am surprised you were able to force me to use this jutsu-"
*BANG!*
Idate's monologue was quickly interrupted, as Mizuki soundly closed the distance and punched the boy in the stomach, causing him to keel over and spit out a crude mixture of saliva and blood.
However, this did little to discourage Mizuki, as he continued his relentless assault, kneeing the boy in a face that mirrored the way the boy did the same to Anko in his prior match.
More blood and saliva could be seen coming out of Idate's mouth as he was hit with another attack.
However, again, Mizuki had no mercy as he then grabbed Idate's arm, before quickly performing a shoulder throw, causing him to hit the ground with an audible crack.
The force behind the throw was so powerful, that the boy bounced off the ground, and directly into Mizuki's next attack.
A roundhouse kick to the boy's side which caused him to fly into the wall, again, producing an audible crack at each impact, as his ribs were slowly being fractured and broken by Mizuki.
However, this was not the end of the boy's suffering.
Far from it.
As Idate was just barely able to peel himself off of the wall, which now had an Idate shaped crater ,around half a meter deep in it.
Mizuki quickly appeared at his side, the boy wasting no time whatsoever before executing another chakra enhanced roundhouse kick.
The boy was just barely able to cross his arms in an "X" shape to block.
However, this block did little to hamper the damage of Mizuki's attack, as another two loud crack could be heard as both of Idate's arms broke, which were now just left hanging along his sides.
Idate tried to retaliate, but quickly realized he could not, his reaction time was slowing, and his body was tiring, faster than it ordinarily should.
Then it ordinarily would.
Why?
He was sure that he had enough chakra, even after that substitution.
Although his physical energy was draining away, his spiritual energy was still in it's peak condition, allowing him to fully process the gravity of the situation and all of the pain he was feeling.
Too bad, he never focused any energy whatsoever on genjutsu, and as such, the abundance of spiritual energy he had was all but useless with virtually no physical energy to accompany it.
As he had his spiritual energy still in abundance, he couldn't even fall into unconsciousness, and as such, was forced to stay fully aware, yet powerless, as Mizuki continued to beat him.
As Idate was being beaten in by Mizuki, he came to the sudden realization of what was happening, after seeing the kanji for "steal" appear on Mizuki's hands every time he grabbed him in the process of the "battle."
Idate: {He is stealing my chakra!}
Despite the beating that was going on, none of the jonin stepped into intervene, not even Orochimaru, who was analysing his test subject's performance.
After seeing what he did to his comrades, the jonin tactfully decided to allow Mizuki to continue his beating.
As they hoped that it could serve as a way for Idate to acknowledge the will of fire, or at the very least fall further under their manipulation as a soldier for the leaf by twisting his resentment for his teammates.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, and how he would need to pull himself out of this situation on his own, Idate breathed out slightly, as he activated the one thing that could potentially save him.
The curse mark.
With this, Idate was now confident that he could go toe to toe with Mizuki, as absorbing nature energy created by the curse mark would be all but suicide for his opponent.
As he activated his curse mark, the ink like markings once again emerged as they danced across Idate's skin, allowing him to grow more powerful.
Idate then turned to Mizuki, an arrogant smirk now adorning his face, as he believed that he could now take him down, with his newfound power.
However, that reality would be one that never pass.
As Idate turned around however, he was faced with the reality before him.
As soon as Mizuki saw the markings, he only increased the intensity of his attacks.
His first of such attacks being one of the most devastating.
Mizuki's leg began to raise in a front kick, his aim raining true, in an attack that could cripple Idate forever.
And....
*CRACK*
Mizuki's foot went up between Idate's legs and hit the boy in his third leg, causing the boy to let loose an audible grunt as he again keeled over.
Mizuki grabbed the boy's head before quickly turning and tripping the boy, before smashing his head against the ground, causing the boy's forehead to cut and his nose to break.
Just to taunt the boy however, his hand reached out towards the boy's face before the kanji for steal appeared on his palm and he grabbed the boy, stealing his chakra just the same.
Idate: {WHAT!? HOW? HE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STEAL MY CHAKRA LIKE THIS WHEN I HAVE THE CURSE MARK ACTIVE.}
A wide grin emerged on Mizuki's face, as he was saw Idate's face morph into one of shock when he began to drain his chakra.
Mizuki's fuinjutsu was designed to exclusively drain physical and spiritual energy, and as such, it would simply leave the nature energy alone, hence avoiding the main weakness of most chakra draining techniques.
Mizuki than focused on the finishing sequence.
The boy then simply lifted Idate, dragging his body across the floor before simply throwing him up in the air.
As Idate's body began to climb into the sky, he had just enough to internally curse Mizuki before he stalled and fell back to earth.
Mizuki then simply readied his fist and slammed the boy in the face just as he was coming back to land, like a batter hitting a homerun after an easy pitch.
Mizuki's fist was able to strike Idate perfectly, causing the boy to vomit out blood and saliva, with some bile even emerging.
Several of his teeth also came out of his mouth at this point as he then crashed into the ground, finally beginning to fall unconscious.
He was just barely able to look over at Mizuki, with malice evident in his eyes, although clearly asking him, begging him to answer a singular question.
Why?
Mizuki: "You flew too close to the sun"
Mizuki muttered at a volume where it could only be heard by Idate.
And, with that, the boy simply turned towards the proctor, who simply nodded before stating his verdict.
Doto: "Our winner of this round, and our first finalist is Mizuki"
Upon hearing those words, Mizuki nodded, and showed a polite smile.
He than simply made some brief smalltalk with most of the other candidates quickly for the sake of appearances, although was quickly intercepted by Obito.
Obito: "Hey man, congrats on making it to the finals"
Mizuki: "Thanks, hope to see you there"
The two boys bantered back and forth before Mizuki turned to Obito, now a serious glint in his eyes.
Mizuki: "Obito, something wrong?, Let's just cut to the chase"
Hearing his words, Obito sighed slightly before confronting Mizuki.
Obiro: "Ok I will, I get that he hurt Anko, but was it really necessary to beat him like that"
Hearing his question, Mizuki turned to Obito before patiently replying. After all, there was no malice in the boy's voice, simply curiosity and confusion.
Mizuki: "A fair question, but the answer is relatively simple. It is simply that I want to defend my loved ones. Nobody, and I mean, NOBODY can harm them and think that they can get away with it."
Obito was now caught up in his own thoughts about what Mizuki said, so the boy decided to just leave him with one final piece of advice.
Mizuki: "Think about it like this, what would you do if somebody hurt Rin?"
Obito than looked at Mizuki, his gaze telling him everything he needed to know for his answer.
Mizuki: "See what I mean?"
And, with those words, Mizuki returned to the infirmary to keep Anko company, after all, he did miss the hand holding that was going on earlier.
(A/N: FUCKING LEWD I TELL YOU, SOMEBODY CALL THE COPS)
Nani! Why isnt the author is releasing chapters at a time of day that isn't at an ungodly hour in the morning?!
Ya, Heres the bonus chapter, another chapter will be released at the normal time.
Um, ya, I hope this chapter was able to somewhat satisfy you, he couldnt kill him for obvious reasons.
Now! Onto the last couple of battles and then some slice of life!
After that, the book's first volume will be undergoing a rewrite, as I feel that the first Volume is a definate weakness of the novel.
The rewrite period will take about a wek most likely, although I will try to post a chapter every two or three days as well so that you guys aren't left hanging for a week.
