Mizuki: "I want you to teach both me and Anko the summoning jutsu, particularly how to summon snakes"

Orochimaru was known as one of the Legendary Sannin, and famed for his usage of snakes and snake based jutsu. It would only make sense for Mizuki to ask how to do so as well.

Orochimaru looked at Mizuki with a curiosity,as if looking at a new specimen in a lab that he wanted to dissect.

The look made Mizuki unconsciously shiver, he started to fear that he may have pushed his luck with his final request.

However, luckily for Mizuki, these fears seemed to be unfounded as Orochimaru accepted his third condition as well.

Mizuki stood up and bowed to his sensei, before shaking his hand to signify that the deal had been completed.

Having finished his objective, Mizuki walked towards the door, ready to leave when Orochimaru called him.

Orochimaru: "And Mizuki..."

Mizuki turned around to see what his Sensei would say, only to see that his sensei was emitting a slight bit of killing intent.

And although the intent was only slight, it still sent shivers up Mizuki's spine as he realized on a primordial level, that he was staring at something higher on the food chain then him.

Orochimaru: "..Whilst it is admirable you are willing to sacrifice your life, it is kind of rude to walk into someone's office with a bomb strapped to your chest, no?"

Mizuki nodded his head in fear, horrified that he had been seen through.

Orochimaru: "Don't let me catch you again"

Mizuki: "Yes Sensei"

Orochimaru: "Send Idate in"

Mizuki nodded again as he turned towards the door and walked towards it before exiting the office and walking into the training room where he noticed his teammates sprawled out on the floor.

Mizuki: "Idate, Sensei wants to see you next"

Idate nodded as he got up and walked towards the sensei's office, although Anko looked towards Mizuki with concern.

Being around him for so long, she had learned how to read Mizuki's body language to tell if he was lying, and currently not only was his performance noticeably less convincing than normal, but there were also hints of fear in his voice.

Although he did a decent job hiding them, Anko knew for a fact that whatever happened in the office with the Sensei terrified him.

She glanced around the room and poked her head out into the hallway to make sure that Idate had gone into the office before turning to her friend.

Anko: "Mizuki, what happened in there?"

(In Orochimaru's Office)

Orochimaru sat back in his chair as he listened to Idate's proposal. It was clear that he was merely an average genin, with a difference of night and day between him and the schemer that had been in his office previously.

Whilst that kid certainly was decent at the art, and could even be considered in the upper bracket for his age group, he was still but a child in his eyes.

Although he was able to drive a decent deal, he also ended up revealing how much of a weakness that purple haired girl was to him.

In an end result to the meeting that could be predicted by anybody, Orochimaru was able to create a deal with Idate to help him get stronger via some experiments that Orochimaru had created.

The sannin smiled as he had acquired his newest guinea pig, one that might even be useful to him as he had finally worked the subject of his experiment into a usable jutsu.

The Curse Mark.

(In the Training Room)

"Mizuki, what happened in there?"

Mizuki: "W-What? Nothing happened. Everything went fine."

Anko turned to her best friend who had a look in his eye that she had never seen before.

Fear and Reluctance.

What he had seen had scared even him, and he was reluctant to share it with her for whatever reason, probably to protect her.

Anko sighed as she looked at the boy who she proudly called her best friend, as he tried to shield her.

Whilst she certainly did appreciate what he was doing for her, she didn't like that he was being secretive around her.

They were supposed to be a team, and teammates don't do that to one another.

Anko sighed again as she faced Mizuki, knowing that she needed to help him out in this situation.

Anko: "There is no way nothing is wrong, have you seen yourself"

Mizuki: "Everything is fine"

Anko: "Mizuki...."

The silver haired boy also sighed as knew he couldn't keep the act up from her of all people, as she knew him too well.

Mizuki: "He could see through my every move.."

Mizuki: "No matter what I did, he was always three steps ahead of me."

Mizuki: "I was so helpless, I thought that if I made a wrong move we might all die here"

Anko nodded in understanding as she tried to console her best friend.

She had also come to the conclusion that their Sensei was being less than ethical with his experiments, as almost any rational person would upon going to a secret base.

And Mizuki only confirmed it.

Anko sat down and gestured for Mizuki to sit next to her.

As soon as she did she pulled his head into her lap as she lightly patted it to reassure him.

Anko: "It's totally fine, I'm here"

Regardless of what happened, he was the closest thing she had to family.

And he was somebody who she knew she had to give her support to when he was like this.

Anko: "So what is the deal that you made"

Mizuki than went to explain the benefits that he was able to fish out of the snake.

Anko: "That all seems pretty nice, but what is the cost?"

Mizuki dreaded the question, as he would need to admit what he sacrificed, but he couldn't bring himself to lie to her.

Mizuki: "I am his personal assistant for experiments"

Anko stared at him with shock before looking at him with severe concern.

Anko: "You are not doing that alone"

Mizuki: "What?"

Anko: "Look at yourself right now, imagine how much worse it will get being with him constantly"

Anko: "I am also going to be his assistant in a team with you"

Mizuki: "Absolutely not, it's dangerou-"

Anko: "So what? You're doing it, besides, as far as medical ninjutsu go, although you are better at mystic palm than I am, I am still way better at chakra scalpels than you"

Mizuki couldn't muster a response to her.

Over the course of their time in the academy, Mizuki taught Anko how to use medical ninjutsu in class as a way to alleviate time.

Although she was only slightly above average at using actual healing jutsu, she was nightmarishly talented at chakra scalpels, in a few years, her skill in the jutsu could even surpass kabuto's in the anime.

Anko: "I can appreciate that you are trying to help me Mizuki, but we're a team. And teammates don't just let one person carry the weight"

Anko: "Fair?"

Mizuki: "Fair"

Although he wanted to keep her away from danger, Mizuki knew at heart that he was being hypocritical when she wished to do the same.

However, just as they were about to continue, they both sensed that Idate had left Orochimaru's office and was walking toward the training room to get Anko.

Realizing his position, Mizuki bolted up as he sat next to Anko, although a small part of him was saddened by how the moment ended too soon.

Anko: "Alright, so when I go in there, in exchange for being his other assistant, I'm going to request more time in the library and access to forbidden jutsu"

Mizuki: "Got it, be careful"

Anko: "I will"

Anko than rushed out of the room, passing Idate who was still in the hallway, much to his surprise as he didn't realize how easy he was to detect.

Anko: "Im going in now"

Idate: "Ok?"

Anko's meeting with the sanin was surprisingly tame, considering that most of the heavy lifting had been done by Mizuki, it made her job infinitely easier.

It was agreed upon that Mizuki and Anko would function as a group together during the experiments.

Anko was also able to get an extra two hours a week and an hour of tutoring a week from Orochimaru, in addition to select forbidden jutsu.

Seeing that their business was done, Orochimaru than directed them towards the staircase they came up and sent them on their way, although not before informing Mizuki and Anko that their hours as assistants started the next day in the same location after their mission.

With that, the three genin rushed out of the complex before Idate split up from the two of them to go do his own thing.

Seeing that they were finally alone, they decided to go towards the forest training area to meet up with the others.

Mizuki and Anko agreed to keep the arrangement their little secret in order to avoid accidents.

*Ten Minutes Later*

Seeing that they were about to reach the forest training zone, Anko quickly leaned over to Mizuki and kissed him on the cheek.

Mizuki, not seeing anything of the sort coming, jumped back in surprise before the gravity of the situation washed over him, causing him to turn crimson in embarrassment.

Anko: "Hehe, that is revenge for trying to keep things from me"

Mizuki could only sigh as he and his best friend continued walking until they entered the clearing and saw the rest of their friend group.

Although as he saw them, Mizuki realized that with today's events, everything would change.
