Chapter 016- Scientists

(With Ling wan)

Ling wan just got the letter from Ling yun. As he read the information about Feng clan, he got shocked to find out that they are the inheritor of phoenix bloodline.

Ling wan knows how powerful this bloodline is. Because of this bloodline, the Feng clan in the Divine phoenix Empire is so powerful.

They alone can destroy the other six empires if they want. Not to mention, they are the only power that have a tiny chance to contend with the sacred grounds.

*Young master is really resourceful. He even found a group of people that has the similar bloodline as the phoenix clan in the Divine Phoenix Empire. I look forward to see their faces when they find out that they are not the only inheritors of phoenix bloodline.* Ling wan smirked imagining their ugly faces.

Ling wan didn't dare to neglect this new Phoenix clan even though their power is currently too weak to even mention. He arranged the best courtyards for them as he knows that they are going to be a powerful force to reckon with in the near future.

After sending the Feng clan off, Ling wan picked up the letter again as he read the rest of the content.

After reading the letter, he called few of the elders and said to them, "Young master asked me add a new occupation in the special category. They will be called scientists."

"They will focus on discovering the wonders of profound energy and how it can be applied in fighting more efficiently. They will also be responsible for finding out a way to make use of this energy in our daily lives."

"Choose a group of people that might be interested in this. Their priority in research should be to make a long distant communication device using the profound energy." In truth, Ling wan is skeptical that these kind of thing is even possible where even a mortal would be able communicate in long distance freely.

But no matter how unbelievable it might sound, he didn't voice out his thoughts.

*Since young master believes that the profound energy can be used for other things besides fighting, I shouldn't doubt his decision.* Ling wan thought as he sent the elders to their work.

(With Feng Huang)

After Ling yun and Xia qingyue were transported to the other plane, Feng Huang materialized in front of the azure dragon to talk.

"Hmm....I didn't noticed you before. Even though I am a mere remnant spirit of the real azure dragon, I should have been able to notice it that you were hiding in that boy's body." The primordial azure dragon said with some shock in his voice.

After all, he is the strongest divine beast and even Feng Huang shouldn't be able to hide herself from him. So, how come he didn't notice her before?

*Maybe it's because I didn't examine that boy carefully, that's why I missed the presence of the phoenix spirit in his body.* The azure dragon thought.

"No need to be shocked Lord azure dragon. That boy is rather peculiar. You wouldn't have been able to find me even if you had checked him thoroughly. Anyway, I have something to talk about with you regarding that boy." Feng Huang said.

"What is it?"

"It's like this...."

"So that boy wants me to be his familiar? I will check him out when he finishes the trial. If his soul is really as strong as you say, then I have no problem becoming his familiar." When the azure dragon heard from Feng Huang that the boy wants to keep him as some kind of pet, his first thought was to outright reject him and even teach that brat some lesson.

But then the picture of her daughter came to his mind. She has been sealed in Heaven punishing Ancestral sword and nobody even knows where that sword is.

The primordial dragon was planning to entrust the job of finding the sword and freeing his daughter from the seal to his inheritor.

It has always been his regret that he couldn't find and free her daughter before his death.

He is only a weak soul now who will be ceased to exist within a few years of time as he doesn't have a way to prolong his life.

Even if he does, it's not like he can leave this place. But that kid seems to have a way to not only let him live but also take him away from this place and make him regain his former power.

Now that he found a way to regain his former self and search for her daughter with his own hands, should he just throw it away?

*If that kid can truly subdue my true dragon god soul, I don't mind discarding my pride as a dragon god to become his familiar. As long as I can save my daughter, it is a small price to pay.* The primordial azure dragon thought as he started look forward to the end of second trial.

[AN: I'm confused whether the dragon god soul is really the original soul of the azure dragon or not. In the end, I decided to go with the scenario that it is really his original soul without any memory that was left behind with the azure dragon spirit as a reward for his true inheritor.]

1 year later-

Today is last day of the second trial. Ling yun and Xia qingyue can be seen chasing some profound beasts as those profound beast tried their best to run away.

Few months ago when Ling yun and Xia qingyue managed to kill the 99998th profound beast, they started to use the remaining profound beast as their punching bag.

Every profound beast has at least been beaten twice by Ling yun and Xia qingyue. So, those profound beast developed some kind of inner fear.

Instead of attacking them day and night constantly, they started to avoid Ling yun and Xia qingyue as much as possible even to the point that they would run to the mere sight of them.

After playing with those beasts for a while, Ling yun killed the last beast to complete the trial.

As they finished the trial, they were finally transported out of the trial ground.

"You two took your time finishing the trial even though you could have finished it way earlier." The azure dragon said as he took a deep look at Ling yun trying to see through him.

But, as Feng Huang mentioned it seems to be impossible to penetrate Ling yun's soul's defence with his current power.

*It seems that he really has a chance to subdue my real soul.*

The primordial azure dragon looked at both of them and said in majestic voice, "I heard from Feng Huang about what happened in her third trial. So, I won't bather taking the third trial as well. You both pass and are worthy to become my inheritor."

"But before I give you your rewards, I have something to talk about with this kid alone." The azure dragon transported both him and Ling yun to a secret location.

"I heard from Feng Huang about your intention to make me your familiar. But do you really have the qualification?" The azure dragon asked in a haughty manner as he released his powerful momentum.

But Ling yun didn't get scared at this as he had seen some angels having millions of times more powerful momentum than this. Compared to them, it is just a child's play.

Ling yun looked directly into the eyes of the primordial azure dragon without any fear and said, "Yes, I do think that I have the qualification. Not only that, I also think that it is your honour to become a subordinate of mine."

Hearing Ling yun's arrogant answer, the primordial azure dragon didn't get angry, instead he nodded in approval.

*At least his attitude is worthy enough. Now let's see if his soul is really as strong as well.*

"Hahaha....you have courage kid. Let's see if your soul is as great as your courage. If you can really defeat my real soul, then I don't mind becoming your familiar." The azure dragon said as he released his true soul.

Ling yun didn't stop it from entering his mindscape as he is completely confident in defeating it.

I have stopped reading ATG after Yun che died in the star god realm and became super weak. Those who are still reading, can you guys tell me if there is any new information regarding the Blue pole star that I should be mindful of??
