Chapter 25

Brendan entering the gym, quickly tries to locate the gyms battlefield. The reason for it being so hard to find the room is because the gym includes other things like offices. The gym leader is in charge over Mauville so he has to always either be working or doing gym battles. So he's basically almost always busy.

"Excuse me, do you know the location of the gym's battlefield, I have a battle scheduled today." Brendan says a little winded out after exploring this huge place.

The woman surprised but quickly responding, says, "Hello there trainer, to get to the battlefield head to the bottom left corner of room 2! There should be an elevator leading upwards to the stadium!"

The woman says, used to telling this to trainers as this gym is quite confusing at times. Brendan hearing this, nods and says bye to the lady while walking back to room 2, which is just 20 seconds away.

Brendan now heading to the elevator, enters it after pressing the up button as it's the only button there. Brendan now heading upwards because there's only one location this elevator takes you to and it's the battlefield of Mauville City's Gym!

Brendan hearing a ding, watches the elevator door open. Looking outside of the elevator, nothing could be seen. Everything is dark. This sight unnerves Brendan a little bit, expecting to find a room full of lights.

Suddenly the lights start to open through a decently sized corridor leading up to another door with blinding lights. Brendan seeing this, assumes this is the way to the arena, walking forward warily as he's scared of the dark with a cute Mudkip on his shoulder (Never forget the Mudkip).

Brendan now walking through the cold room, makes it to the end. Entering what Brendan assumes is the final area, he sees a desk area with a person waiting. "Hello! I've been informed only one person has booked a fight today trainer, so im gonna assume your Mr. Brendan?" A particularly muscular sounding voice says.

Brendan currently recovering from the light hitting his eyes, responds quickly. "Yes im currently here for my fourth badge!

"Well you're in the right place young man, head up the stairs to your left to head up to the podium". The man says "The gym leader will be with you shortly".

Brendan nodding proceeds to look to his left where the stairs are. 'Why are the stairs so high up? You would think they would buy an escalator with all the money they splurge on lighting and decorations'. Brendan groans inwardly, currently complaining to himself. 'Maybe it's to buy time for the gym leader to get to his podium, it would make sense at least.'

After a while of Brendan walking up the steps with his sore legs and with a cute Mudkip on his shoulders making it worse, he makes it to the top. Brendan now gets on the podium, blinded by the lights, hears a voice. "Hey Rookie! you got here pretty fast for someone who just won their third badge, you starting to overestimate yourself?"

Wattson says in his usual jouyos tone, as he's always very happy. "Don't worry sir Wattson im always ready for a challenge." Brendan says, smirking, Brendan knows that most trainers drop out of the gym circuit trying to win their fifth badge because that's when the pace of battle starts to increase and is when you and your Pokemon need to be more in sync. So Brendan for this battle just plans to brute force his way to win.

With his ace being a Combusken, there aren't many things Wattson can do with his fourth gym badge Pokemon. Brendan before hand checked Wattson's Pokemon before entering the gym. A Magnemite that probably already should have evolved, a voltorb, and a magnemite. (Some Pokemon that the gyms have for different amount of gym badges can sometimes have the same pokemon from either higher or lower depending on how many Pokemon the gym leader has).

Brendan, after saying that hears a voice from the microphones. "This is an official gym battle between Wattson and Brendan from Littleroot Town, This will be a 3v3 battle and the challenger can switch out once." The pleasantly deep voice says. "BEGIN!"

Both trainers hearing this proceed to send out their Pokemon.

Pokemon: Magnemite (Light Green)

"Magnemite!"

"Grovyle!"

In Front of Brendan can be seen Pokemon. The said Pokemon is looking like a Metallic Ball with two magnets on the side with a screw on top of it. 'Damn a light green' Brendan says inwardly.

"Be carefull of this one Brendan im making him hold his evolution, In a few years time he has the potential to be on my main team!" Wattson laughs to himself.

Hey guys, im still overseas and stuff. But I wanted to post a chapter because I can't help it. Don't expect more chapters because while im writing this in a few hours time going on a ferry!

I wrote this chapter on a phone, forgive me for grammar, and yes, i wrote phone as ophone 3 times in a row.

Also, Mudkip is the best starter of all time. Don't even try to complain. Look at its adorable eyes and tell me there's a better starter than it.
