Reincarnated as a Slime? (Rewrite)

---- -----, your resident shut-in! Lazy, unambitious, apathetic, all words that describe this terrible excuse for a person. While he's the type of person to only leave his cramped apartment only once a year or so, he finally leaves for a bit to get some food, however, life had different plans for him. Before he could even react, a car comes crashing towards him while crossing the street. Hardly able to even think properly, he hears a strange, almost robotic voice speak to him. Without another second to even contemplate what happened, he appears in a strange place, his sight, hearing, and sense of smell robbed of him. ___ Hey! I hope you do be wary if you decide to read this! The first fifteen to twenty chapters are incredibly old, like two years old! After that, it gets a bit better, but do make sure you know what you're getting into.

A Recap -Chapter B.4-

Here's the day I've been waiting for, the day thousands of people in The Capital come to watch people fight, where I'm going to compete! And, as well, where I'm going to win. This day will further advance my goal of becoming the best! Becoming a hero, becoming the number one adventurer!

Alright, yeah, you're right. I'm also competing in the tournament because Triance asked me to, but that doesn't mean I can't take advantage of this for my own goals.

Unluckily for me, I was chosen to be in the eighth fight in the preliminary rounds. Who am I up against? Oh, I don't even know, nor do I really care, if I'm to be honest. These guys don't stand a chance against me, there's no way I would lose to anybody here! It wouldn't even be a challenge for me.

Or, that's what I'd like to say. The thing is, most of the people here are pretty damn strong, even some of the losers. And seeing how I'm just one person, it'd be idiotic for myself to blindly follow my own confidence.

My old teacher used to tell me something, that there's a huge difference between being confident in your own abilities and blindly following your egotistical beliefs. Sure, I still don't fully understand what that means, but I know my teacher was a really smart person. They were strong, too, which is exactly why I never ignore her teachings! Most of the time, I mean.

So, the fights so far have been pretty cool. In the first round, some earth magic spell completely demolished the opposing team, granting them the victory.

The second battle involved some people I actually knew, a group called 'Wilting Flower' if I remember correctly. The other team, I don't actually know them. Anyhow, Wilting Flower won, they were both stronger and had better teamwork than the other team.

The third battle was also interesting, fighting in that one was a team called 'Ohre' and 'Rising Sun'. I've actually heard of Rising Sun before, they've been advancing in party rank quite a lot recently, pretty sure they're D-rank by now. Ohre managed to split them away from each other, meaning they would all be fighting a one on one. After a sorta long fight, Ohre managed to win after who I presume is their leader, beat Tanya, leader of the Rising Sun.

The fourth fight... was something, alright. Lower rank members of the church's defenders, who they call the 'Church Paladins', decided to compete in this tournament. While, yes, that's interesting on its own, what was really strange was their opponent. They called themselves 'Truth'. They looked normal enough, apart from their leader who was the strangest thing about them. They did a similar thing to what the team in fight one did, completely demolished the other team with one attack. I couldn't tell what kinda spell it was, but when it hit them, they fainted, instantly. It was sorta like an arrow, sorta hard to see, but not impossible. Of course, that granted them the victory instantly, while the paladins were rushed to the doctors they have here, as they weren't waking up. Scary stuff, I tell you, wouldn't wanna go against that myself.

The fifth fight wasn't really anything special, just a group called 'The Frontlines' and 'Black Blades' fighting. The Frontlines won if you were wondering.

The sixth, however, was somewhat surprising, seeing how the oh-so-great Magic-Knights were competing. The Magic-Knights are a branch of knights in Draila that focus more on magic than physical fights. They usually are tasked with doing a whole bunch of things, protecting nobility, saving some village from attack, and other stuff. But, you see a lot of them acting pretty damn corrupt, that's exactly why I hate them. I don't actually remember who they were fighting, but the Magic-Knights won to my dismay.

Heh, you won't believe what happened in the seventh fight. You remember that Eina guy? The one that works here in the colosseum, from the other day? Turns out, they're competing in the Tournament! And what's more surprising, just like me, they're fighting all alone! He fought against a group of adventurers called 'Ranosha Anashashu', a group of Beastmen. What's more surprising? Eina actually won, I'm being serious! Turns out, he's pretty good. It was a one vs. six and everything. Though, if I was in his situation, I would have won too, of course. I don't even really need to tell you that, though, do I?

Now, with that all said, we come to fight eight, my fight!

The only problem is, my opponent hasn't shown up yet. It's been at least ten minutes that I've been just standing here, and the people I'm supposed to fight just aren't here! Seriously, how much more disrespectful can you get? Not showing up to something as great as the Tournament? I get it, I really do, I'm super strong and have an imposing presence, but just not showing up? Ugh.

"Uh... as the rival team has yet to show up in ten minutes, the winner of this match, is Blaine Skia!"

You can't be serious.

>Chapter B.4, end.<

We've done it! Twenty chapters in a row, isn't that amazing? With that said, I've decided to ruin this little streak I've been on with a brand new writing schedule! To prevent me from reaching a point of burnout, I've decided to make some changes.

So, how will this new schedule work? Well, there will be four chapters released every week, one on Monday, one on Wednesday, and one on Friday for the week. On the weekend, on the other hand, I'll release one chapter on Saturday from now on.

Anyway, with that all said, I hoped you've enjoyed this chapter, and as always, have a wonderful rest of your day!
