The golem emerged fully from the shadows, its form towering and jagged. Its body was a blend of cracked stone and glowing crystal, with veins of pulsing mana threading through its limbs like arteries. Each step it took sent tremors through the chamber, dislodging bits of moss and stone from the ceiling above.
Its eyes—or what passed for them—were twin orbs of searing blue light, fixed squarely on us. The pedestal behind it seemed to glow brighter in response to its presence, as if urging the creature onward.
The horned rabbit stepped forward, her horn gleaming with an intense light. Her stance was low and poised, every muscle in her small frame coiled like a spring.
I drew in a deep breath, the orb in my chest flaring in time with the mana that coursed through the dungeon.
"Alright," I muttered, flexing my claws.
"Big, heavy, and probably slow. Let's see if we can bring it down before it crushes us."
