The roads were bumpy and slanted off-road. This road is definitely not good for any wagons or it would've just tipped off the road.
Along the way to the royal capital, we had stopped to pick the stuff the old man packed up. The things I brought were Peacemonger(My sword), Shikkoku(My familiar), food(food), and a canteen with hot tea.
I was currently stuffing myself with a potato. A hot, fresh out of the pot potato…
I began to drool as I couldn't hold in my appetite and a second later; I devoured the whole thing.
We've been walking for about three hours now. I wonder if we are even heading for the capital. I looked at the empty fields that we passed by and there were animals doing whatever they were doing. There was some kind of elephant or a mammoth with spikes coming from its spine. There was also a large butterfly which illuminated like an LED light and a large venus fly trap kinda plant. I know it's some kind of venus fly trap plant because it just devoured that butterfly right as soon as it landed on it.
"Best stay away from that." The old man said and I agreed. Wouldn't want to get eaten by that thing.
At one point, we found a field of those large venus fly traps, and judging by the smell, I could tell there was a bloodbath here.

It was already getting dark, so me and the old man decided to camp out for the night. Luckily, we ended up in a field with tall grass, perfect for hiding from others.
The old man was already knocked out and snoring away while I was still trying to sleep. Damn, in my original form, I could sleep within a minute because even if I was sleeping in the hay, my fur shielded me from getting all itchy. Well unless it's fleas. Right now, it feels like I'm sleeping naked.
Maybe I should revert back just for now, then maybe I can get some sleep.
But as I was ready to get out of double edge mode, I suddenly heard a noise.
Rustle-rustle~
I looked around but all I could see was tall grass. But I knew there was something in the darkness. I lightly tapped Shikkoku and she woke up. She sniffed the air a few and realized the situation. Shikkoku then got onto her feet and got into a territorial stance.
"Protect the old man," I whispered and she nodded, quietly prancing over to the old man.
I guess I should try my dark manipulation. With my dark manipulation, I can make myself see in the dark. After using dark manipulation, I saw 5 figures in the tall grass. They looked like they were equipped with shortswords and daggers. If I were to guess, they would be bandits of some sort. They were even wearing masks and cloaks. Weird, ugly cloaks, too.
Many thoughts were going through my mind and I eventually ended up with two choices. I either kill them and just get on with it so I can sleep or just knock them out and throw them in a pit, then piss on them.
Hmm, I like that second idea better.
I should prepare a pit later.
I placed my hand on Peacemonger, then I decided I didn't need them since I'm not gonna kill them.
With dark manipulation, I cloaked myself in dark energy and began walking towards them.
They didn't seem to notice me. Well that would make sense since I am covered in darkness.
I managed to get behind the farthest one. From there, I quickly placed my hand over his mouth and got him in an armlock. He struggled and screamed, attempting to warn his friends but eventually, he passed out. That's one down.
I did the same for the other three and knocked them out on the spot. As I was about to head for the last one, he turned around to check on the others. But when he turned, the only thing he saw next was nothing but tall grass.
"G-guys? Where are you? Hey, this is no time for games!"
"Nope, but it is for me."
The bandit turned around to receive a sucker punch in the face, instantly knocking him out.
I rounded the bandits up with the use of a rope made of pure dark energy.
Wow, that was easier than expected. I thought one of them would've put up a fight but this is very disappointing. Well, you can't expect much from bandits. I bet they were part of some kind of criminal organization called night raiders or something stupid like that.
With the help of Esprit, I was able to make a pit digging about 30 meters down. While I was dragging the bandits to the pit, something dropped out of their pocket.
"Hmm? What is this?"
I picked it up and it was some kind of a medal with a scorpion. Wonder what this little thing does. Is it a brand of some sort? Scorpion Raiders? Hehe, that would be a stupid name for a group of bandits that were unable to detect me.
I dragged and threw the bandits down the hole and at the bottom I could hear an "Oof!"
Now then.
I unzipped my pants and started pissing down the hole.
"Ahh~"
After releasing all that water, I walked back and fell on my sleeping bag. I think I tired myself out on that one, won't move another inch.
Just gonna close my eyes and wait till morning.

After we woke up, the old man asked why there was a huge hole in the middle of the field.
"Hehe, what are you talking about? It was probably just a giant worm."
"Hmm…" The old man looked at me with a suspicious look. But he eventually shrugged it off and we went our way.
Along the way, we helped a group of merchants help their wagon up. With my strength, it was practically lightweight. Though I must say it was a bit heavier. If I recall, double edge mode reduces my strength and defenses for speed and instincts.
After we helped them, they offered us a ride to the capital which we gratefully accepted. I was given the chance to sit on top of the wagon to see the view.
It was a much more beautiful sight. I could see almost everything from here. Well not really. A minute later, I got bored and sat back in the wagon.
According to the old man, we would arrive at the capital in about 5 hours. To me, that is a bit long.
One of the members of the merchant's group was a young girl, around the same age as me. Her name was Abigail. She had orange hair and she also had heterochromia. Her right eye was yellow and her other eye was blue. We chatted for a while and seemed to have some similarities.
I'm just kidding we don't have any similarities. I just said "yeah me too" to everything she said. To be completely honest… I don't know how to talk to a girl correctly.
Sure I may have looked cool and all in middle school and high school and have gotten confessions from other girls, but I never really actually conversed with one for more than five minutes. Sure I've talked with girls longer in group projects and all, but that's that and this is this.
I could already tell from the girl's face that she was interested in me. I mean, who blushes for more than five minutes? Either you are sick or just love-stricken.
I wonder how long I can keep up the cool guy act.
About an hour or two, Abigail finally calmed down and I managed to take a breather. Jeez, I never knew girls were so talkative. My throat is dry from answering this girl's questions and discussions. She even asked why I wore makeup. Do my eyeshadows look like makeup? Well, actually yeah they kinda do. I just told her I was born with them.
Abigail was sleeping on my arm right now so I couldn't scoot away. I was sitting in the corner too so I'm pretty much stuck.
Another hour passed and I was getting a bit tired. Shikkoku was sleeping in front of my legs so I decided to use her as a leg rest. She allowed me to put my legs so it was like having a soft foot rest.
Before I dozed off, I asked the old man how long till we would arrive.
"About another hour. You can rest for now."
"Alright then, wake me up when we are there."
I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. I wonder how the capital looks like. It'll be the first city I've been to in this world and I hope I'm not disappointed by the outcome.

"Hey Yamato, wake up."
I was woken by the voice of the old man. But the face in front of me didn't match the voice.
"Hello Mr. Pharaoh," Abigail said as she looked down at me with a smile.
It took me a moment to realize that I was sleeping on her lap. I immediately sat straight up and looked at the old man.
"You seemed to be enjoying it," The old man teased and I glared at him.
Though to be completely honest, she did have soft laps. That was my first lap pillow too.
"So, why was I woken up?"
"We're here. That's why."
The old man pointed and I looked.
Sure enough, we had arrived. Just a few thousand feet ahead of us was a giant fortress. With my enhanced vision, I was able to see the details of the entrance. There were guards on top of the thick stone walls, the entrance was guarded by soldiers wearing silver armor, and there were a few other wagons requesting access into the city.
"Well, that took long enough. My butt is getting sore from sitting for so long."
We were finally here. At the capital… capital…
Wait a minute, does this capital even have a name?
"What's this place called again?"
"Didn't I tell you? It's Albion."
"Oh, Albion."
Wait, isn't that another name for Britain?
