Hold that name for a moment... Mav... as in...

"But Gil said to check out the new being that landed nearby. And besides, you were supposed to be helping out at the Orphanage," argued the poor Mage.

An irk mark seemed to appear on the Valkyrie's forehead. I stepped away in fear.

"Yea... Until Gil had made an emergency call to me! Raiyen, you know how dangerous it is to unleash big spells around here. You can't keep doing these kinds of greetings. Someday, you'll end up destroying the forest. And don't ask me to regrow it!"

"If you don't know how to do patrol around here, I'll just ask Tomoe to cover for you then. He can get to share my dessert with me then," said Mav, releasing the Time Mage's head.

"Oi! That's not fair! You're my girlfriend, why does he get the sweets?!" asked the upset man.

"Well, if you would stop going after pretty girls like that, I wouldn't have resort to small tricks like these. And no, I don't think about cheating on you. I just wanna get a ruse out of you to make you stop using violence before words," replied Mav.

The Mage called 'Raiyen' pouted and folded his arms. He then turned to look at me and mumbled a small apology. Mav nodded and glanced at me.

"My name is Mavislin S. Roydon. And this man that tried to kill you is called Raiyen Harmony. But don't worry, we are not supposed to hurt you," introduced Mavislin, happily sticking out her hand for a handshake.

Oh. My. God. She is the real deal! I had been hoping that I was wrong about my predictions and that this was another person. Because the novel doesn't have any images or illustrations for the characters, I had no clue how would they appear in real life.

Sure, the author did provide details on how they looked but it remained rather vague. Which was good, since I could let my imagination run wild. But now that they are in front of me... They looked quite average. Like, they weren't too handsome or pretty. They're just normal.

Also, Raiyen looked familiar as well. I just can't remember where I've seen him. And that name sounded familiar as well. But their eyes were far different than a human's. One look and you know they aren't normal since they were eyes that had seen centuries past.

"No, it is I who should apologize. I didn't know that I was on someone's property... I mean, someone else's land," I replied, grasping the Valkyrie's hand.

Mavislin tilted her head to the side in confusion. Raiyen did a double-take on me when I had to correct myself. In the novel, there was no mention of reincarnation or rebirth, so I don't know how are the main characters going to react to this.

"Property? What's that?" asked Mavislin, turning to Raiyen.

"It's like a possession you own. Like, Ciel or Lord Atlantia are your properties. She was telling us that she didn't know that this was our home. Don't worry, I'm a Time Mage, so I'm aware of future lingo," replied Raiyen.

Thank the heavens for this dude. Well, I am lucky I didn't get thrown into the middle of the Salem Witch Trials. I would've been hanged by now. Or thrown into the river.

"Oh... No worries, I can't see you as a threat when your Elemental Energy and Aura are significantly lower than us. But Tsunami of the Full Moon can't be used to their full potential in an area like this. Unless you know how to convert a specific Element into the Water Element, then Tsunami is good."

"Other than that, using too much of your Elemental Energy Pool just to do these Spells will make you drain faster than you can recover. Try to find the lazy ways of doing things so you can have a fun and long battle. Because you only had enough for one more spell," explained Mavislin.

"And if you don't find something to get your Energy up soon, you won't have enough for another encounter. And for humans, the best way to get Energy is to eat! Let's head back to the Orphanage and get some food from Clement! We'd just made a batch of soup."

The Valkyrie then leaped from the ground and sprouted her wings.

"Those are..." I murmured, eyes panicking at the sight of massive those wings were.
