The Delicious Sun Crab

Waking up inside the small hole in the mountain that she had hidden inside of after an unknown period of time had passed, Scaly opened her eyes filled with hunger. Although she had no idea how long it had been since she had last eaten, she had a feeling that it had least been a day if not longer.

Rustle~

With this in mind, she didn't waste any time and directly moved towards the entrance of the hole to remove the stones she had used to block other monsters or humans from randomly finding her while she was in the process of recovering. Soon finding herself back outside where the chaotic scene of humans and monsters fighting each other once again dominated the sea and islands in the distance.

Looking up at the sky above, she noticed that the sun illuminating the third floor of the dungeon hadn't changed position from when she had entered the hole to recover. Meaning that there likely wasn't any kind of night so to speak on the third floor of the dungeon.

On one hand, this was a good thing considering that she wouldn't have to worry about anyone sneaking up on her in the dark, while at the same time, it was bad because she would have to be even more careful than normal when finding a place to rest. After all, not only were there far fewer place for her to hide away with only the island she was on being good for her to rest at, but she also had to worry about the more intelligent humans finding her hiding spot while she was sleeping.

Grooowl~

As she was lost in her own thoughts on how to live on the third floor of the dungeon in the future, her stomach began protesting for her to find something to eat. Clearly having grown impatient after being left without anything for such a long time.

Food… I need to find something to eat…

Being reminded of her current situation, Scaly turned her attention away from the constant battles between humans and monsters taking place across the third floor of the dungeon and instead began to scan her surroundings for a monster she could eat-

[Sun Crab, lvl 3]

[Description: The Sun Crab, a well-known delicacy across the world that is known for its tender and succulent flesh. Not only is it far above other normal crabs, but under the right conditions even its hard shell can be turned into a delicacy enjoyed by only the elites with access to highly skilled chef. Unfortunately, due to the high demand over the years, the sun crab has gone extinct across most of the world and is mostly found inside dungeons.]

And only after a few seconds of scanning her surroundings did she find what she was looking for on the beach next to the spiral staircase she had entered the third floor of the dungeon through.

But… Why does the description of the sun crab only mention how delicious it is and not anything about its strength? Is it perhaps because the sun crab is so weak that it's not even worth mentioning?

Feeling a bit taken aback by the description of the sun crab, Scaly could not help feeling a hint of pity towards the sun crab that seemed to only exist for the sole purpose of being eaten by others… Of course, this didn't mean she intended to spare the sun crab. On the other hand, it only made her more curious about how the crab tasted-

Swish-!

And before the poor sun crab even had the time to react, Scaly had already descended on it-

Ptsh!

Killing it in one swift move before dragging its body towards a part of the mountain hidden away from the view of any of the nearby humans where she could slowly savor her meal and enjoy it in peace without being interrupted.

Chomp~!

Mmhmmmm-!

Taking the first bite out of the sun crab, Scaly could not help letting out a pleasurable sound as both her eyes began shining brightly. Indeed, worthy of being praised by the description box, the sun crab was by far one of the most- if not the most delicious monster she had eaten since she had been born back at the first floor of the dungeon!

Chomp! Chomp! Chomp~!

Under this kind of circumstance, it didn't take long before the sun crab in front of her disappeared. Only the hard shell being left uneaten.

More, I need more~!

Still feeling hungry even after eating the sun crab due to its small size, Scaly once again began scanning the beach with the spiral staircase for more sun crabs that she could eat-

[Sun Crab…]

And as luck would have it, there was a rather large number of them leaving the water just at this point in time…

No more than a few seconds later, Scaly went on a killing spree. Ending the life of close to a dozen golden crabs before the remaining ones escaped back into the water. Fearful of the terrifying angel of death that had suddenly descended upon them.

Hehe~ So many sun crabs~ Delicious sun crabs~

Not feeling the slightest bit unhappy about the fact that most of the sun crabs ended up escaping back into the sea, Scaly happily gathered the dozen or so sun crabs that had been killed by her before indulging in a feast of sun crabs.

Even if her body told her that she couldn't eat so many sun crabs, she refused to let any of them go to waste, as she soon found herself turning into a rather odd ball that went squeezed back into the hole in the mountain, she had hidden inside of a short time earlier.

Sleepy~

With only this thought going through her head as she finished sealing off the entrance to the small hole, Scaly closed both her eyes and drifted off into dreamland. Feeling fully satisfied with what she had accomplished today.

After all, she hadn't managed to fully recover and needed to eat sufficiently before the wound caused by the large cloud nest bird would heal up fully…

Sun Crab~ Mhmmm~
