End of the Cave Troll Drawing Closer...

Approaching the cave troll at a relatively slow pace because she wanted to stay hidden, Scaly could not help feeling a bit worried as she watched the state of the cave troll struggle to keep the endless wave of monsters back with the arrival of the more powerful monsters who had lost their chance at landing the killing blow on the cave alligator.

Of course, the stronger monsters were not dumb enough to charge forward towards the cave troll when it still had more than enough strength left to spare. Instead, they focused all of their power on launching all sorts of weird attacks towards the cave troll.

Among them, the most unique were the venom spiders under the venom spider queen, who ripped out part of their spine before throwing it towards the cave troll. 

Although this did indeed end up doing quite a bit of damage to the cave troll. Unfortunately for the venom cave spiders chosen as ammunition, they did not last long before dying. On another note, the sheer number of venom cave spiders present under the venom cave spider queen ensured that the dozen or so dead venom cave spider would hardly affect her overall strength...

As the large number of projectiles rained down on the cave troll, it could not help letting out a painful roar as several large wounds appeared all over its body before they began healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

However, even with the cave troll recovering from the large number of injuries it sustained to fight off the endless swarm of monsters, the speed at which its injuries recovered had begun to slow down. Not only that, but as the cave troll began to sustain more injuries without being able to heal them in time, it ended up walking straight into the trap of the powerful monsters waiting for it to weaken enough for them to have the ability to land aa killing blow.

Having understood what was going through the heads of the different powerful monsters greedily staring at it, the cave troll decided to slowly retreat towards the deeper parts of the cave that it had emerged from earlier. Understanding that it couldn't just rush towards the deeper part of the cave, or it would end up like the alligator, the cave troll did this slowly and made sure to conserve its power while moving closer to the deeper part of the cave.

Almost immediately after seeing the direction that the cave troll was moving, a large chunk of the normal monsters fearfully turned around to leave. Giving up on trying to land the killing blow.

Huh? They are giving up on a chance to become stronger just like that?!

Not understanding what was going through the heads of these monsters giving up on their chance to become one of the strongest existences inside the cave, Scaly could only tilt her head in confusion while curiously wondering if there was something wrong in the head of these monsters to give up such a good chance to grow stronger.

Huh? Was there always so many tunnels at that side of the cave- Ah! Maybe it's a passage leading down to the third floor of the dungeon where even more powerful monsters reside! Hehe, indeed! That should be the case!

Hm… I think I understand why those weaker monsters decided to run away after seeing the direction of the cave troll.

Thinking this to herself as her gaze remained focused on the cave troll slowly approaching one of the passages leading out of the cave, Scaly could not help increasing her speed a bit. Understanding that it would become far harder to kill the cave troll if it managed to escape down into the third floor of the dungeon.

After all, no matter how confident Scaly felt in herself, she still felt a tiny bit hesitant about the thought of going to the third floor of the dungeon before she had the chance to go through her second evolution.

Also realizing that they might lose their chance at killing the cave troll if it managed to enter the passage, the powerful monsters who had been quietly waiting for an opportunity to strike, all emerged at the same time before beginning to attack the cave troll head on.

In the end, they had all come to a tactic understanding after seeing what the cave troll was planning. Resulting in the cave troll once again ending up under siege. The difference this time around was that the monsters attacking it this time around were far more powerful than swarm of monsters that had attacked it so far… And that was not to mention the fact that it was far more difficult for it to kill these monsters compared to the ones that had been attacking him earlier.

Not even a second after the first barrage of attacks landed, the cave troll was surprised to discover that the healing speed had not just slowed down but had begun to struggle keeping up with the large amount of damage that his body had been sustaining so far.

Understanding very well that the only thing keeping it alive so far was its strong healing abilities, the cave troll began to panic for the first time since the relentless attack had begun.

In the end, this panicked roar only served as encouragement for the attack monsters, as they understood that the cave troll was finally about to run out of energy to continuously heal itself from any injuries that it sustained. At the same time, this also meant that the death of the cave troll wasn't far away!

Seeing this as well, Scaly's reaction was a bit different than the other monsters, as she still hadn't managed to reach the place where the battle was taking place…
