Chapter 18 Day 4 Part 3 And Day 5

Reaching our destination, I was awestruck. I hade completely forgot were in the forth dimension. I thought it was going to be a marching army, but instead I was met with a cube formed army of giants. At least I thought it was a cube, I couldn't know for sure, since there was no end to them. The giants were tightly packed, but there was always at least 5 billion light years between them, so it was no problem.

We started flying through them and lets just say we were like a microorganisms, passing by a planet. Since we were now in the enemy's territory, I started looking for place's to strike. After some minutes I found one with a bunch of 4/12 packed together.

" You have thirty seconds to kill a giant and return don't be late!"

Saying that, I let all the gods attack the giants. To paint you the picture, one hundred thousand gods left the ship and attacked one giant each. Just as quick as the attack happened it ended. Every god returned in time, zero losses. Chaos consumed the giants, as they tried to figure out who attacked them. This spread like a domino effect, making other giants panic all over the place.

With the mission accomplished, we flew off, to look for another place to attack.

" That was awesome." Some weird, exited looking god screamed, to his friends.

" Dude did you see that giant? My fireball obliterated it hahaha." His friend answered.

Conversation like this was happening all over the place, as the gods were happy, of their first mission. Knowing full well they won't listen to me like this, I told the 6/12 to scream silence.

" Silence!" He screamed. All gods and goddesses quickly stopped talking, focusing ahead.

" Congratulations on a successful mission. All rounds won't be like this sadly. Some of you may die, but for the missions successes that is a necessity. Prepare for next round!"

After my vey inspirational speech, I went back to the command center. Sitting down in the command chair, I once more looked for a place to strike.

We once more found a place to strike. There was a bunch of 5/12 and some 6/12, but the cannons could take out the 6/12. The gods got ready to leave again and waited to my signal.

Once they got it they stormed the 5/12 giants with a bunch of elemental attacks. The cannons on the ship shot down all 6/12 giants they could in 30 seconds. Everyone still alive made it back to the ship. Sadly the 5/12 giants retaliated and killed a thousand gods. But a hundred to one, isn't a bad result.

Returning to the ship, the gods weren't full of spirit like before. Now there was a depressing feeling, looming from them. The ones happy go lucky atmosphere was gone. Replaced by regret and sorrow, of losing their friends. The losses of this ambush had hit them hard, but it's to be expected. They have never been in a war and they have known this people, for their whole life.

" Cheer up, this is war. You will lose something, but you might also gain something. Think of the future, after this war you and your friends, that survived, will be bathing in the benefits of war. In the safety of your pantheon. So get ready for the next ambush and try to help each other survive."

Saying my pice, I casted a wide range healing spell, healing all injured. If it was in the beginning of this war than I would have blacked out, but I'm now peak 3/12, soon to break through to 4/12.

The giants all in all seemed more prepared for us, wherever we went, guess word spreads quickly. But that wasn't going to stop us. We quickly found another place to attack and we took it. The gods went out again, but this time they were much more organized. All in all we only hade 500 loses. We continued this for several hour and in the end, there was only 88 thousand left of the gods. Thats when I revived a call from the general. With only 2 hours left till day 5.

" Great work commander Ragnar. You and your squad is to come to my coordinates and help us."

"With what, if I may ask?"

" The giant's got word of us using technology, to ward them of. So they brought their own technology to deal with us. The giants have brought shields, to defend against the ships cannons. You will be the commander of a whole battalion of ships, with the mission of attacking them from behind killing the giants with shields. So we can shoot down the giants advancing towards the wall. Are you up for the challenge?"

"Yes sir!"

"Good, you are to make a quick stop at one of the walls. There's a mothership there! You will take that ship and it's crew and than make way towards me. I will meet you later commander."

I ordered the crew to go towards that wall, to drop of the gods and get a new ship. Hopefully it will be powerful and good at infiltration.

Once we arrived I was met with the first peaceful battlefield, since I arrived. No giants in sight, only gods and a wall standing strong. Next to the wall there was a giant battle ship, 5 times the size of the one I have right now. 50 000 cannons on it but I hope, it also has the ability to hade, otherwise were f@cked.

" Greeting commander, I am commander Gaxter, best defender in the pantheon. Your achievements have not gone unnoticed, even the great me have heard of your achievements. We are to exchange ships, are we not? Let us get it over with and get back to our mission shalt we?"

"Yes, I have to be quick, the general is waiting for me!"

"Good let's not waste time take it."

With that weird encounter I got my third ship, of the war. And made my way towards the general. Once I arrived it was day 5.

"General I have arrived."

"Good, your battalion will be with you shortly. Every ship can kill a 6/12 giant, since they are equipped for the mission! There will be 10 million ships in the battalion, try to not lose all of them. Your ship and theirs have the ability to sneak past 7/12 giants, so the infiltration mission is successful. Thats all good luck Commander."

After my conversation with the general, the battalion arrived. I have never felt so nervous in my entire life. The whole war was currently on my shoulders. Why did the general put so much trust in me it doesn't make sense. But I will not disappoint him. With that in mind I made by way towards the shielded giants ready to kill them.
