The Trash Man?

'Inventory / Status /Skills / Shop / Map/ Quests'

Red couldn't wait to start practicing and testing these powers. He felt at the top of the world.

"Shop? I'm gonna need to test out the Cash thing before i start using it, but let's take a look anyways." Red Muttered

"Shop"

A colorful window popped up, containing 4 tabs :

- Skills

- Accessories

- Weapons and armor

- Familiars

And a small square box in the bottom right corner with the words (Sell) next to it and another word (Price: ) under it.

"This is becoming unreal every second."

Red Pressed on the first tab (Skills).

"What !!" He couldn't help but raise his voice a little, having the whole class look at him.

"Is something wrong?..." The teacher asked.

"No sir, sorry." Red responded feeling embarrassed.

"Do not disturb the class Red, understood?" The teacher asked.

"Yes sir."

Red's reaction was not out of place. For the moment he laid his eyes on the skills, He couldn't help but react in that way, there were many skills, but not all were for Mages, there was endless amounts of skills which filled up the Window.

"This thing even has a filter, very convenient."

Red pressed on the magic option, so that the shop would show only Magic related skills.

Red then selected the Level 1 option for skills that would suit his current Level, the next available Level to choose was 10, so he'll be able to use new skills when he reaches that level.... 4 skills appeared.

Mana Bolt : A skill that attacks by emitting mana. Attack power increases by INT. Range is 10m. (Active)

Price : 500$.

Healing Touch : Allows wounds to heal, can be used on self or others. More health generated according to skill level.

Price : 1000$

Reinforcement Magic : allows the user to perform magical feats such as hardening one's body and the environment around them, giving them an extra layer of defense. evolves according to Skill level. (Active)

Price : 1500$

Summon Skeleton : an apprentice-level Conjuration spell. It summons a Skeleton that will fight as the caster's ally. (Active)

Price : 2000$

"I don't know how i will be getting the money, but i'm gonna need that Mana Bolt skill. i don't have any Offensive Magic yet." As Red reaches for the next tab (Accessories). a message popped up.

'Users level is too low. Next tab shall open after reaching level 15'

"hum.. yeah. knew this was getting too good to be true." He said with an annoyed look.

Ding dong ding ♫

The bell rang, which meant it was lunch time. Red and Sam Bought some food and sat in the school's garden, as they always did.

The garden was beautiful, well taken care of. They sat under a tree to the far left where it was quiet and without many people around. That was one of the reasons why they liked it, they can talk and be as loud as they wanted without others judging them.

"Hey Red, thank you for what you did today." Sam spoke.

"Yeah man, don't worry about it." Red smiled.

"What will you do if Stan comes after you again later?" Sam wore a worried expression. He knew something was going to happen as that was Stan's personality.

Red was too preoccupied by his new Power that he completely forgot about Stan. He already knew what will happen due to his Reset.

Red knew even with his awakened power he still can't do anything to Stan. He was only Level 1 with no skills after all.

"Was adding my Points to INT a bad idea? Maybe I should have increased my strength instead" Red thought to himself.

If Red manages to buy those skills, he was certain he'd be able to easily win against Stan and his dogs. But the issue was Money...

That's when he remembered. The Sell option in the Shop and the pen's price when he appraised it. it was not a certain success but he had to test his new idea out.

"Hey Sam, be right back, I have to go to the bathroom." Red said while standing up.

"Ok. i'll be here" Sam responded.

Red was not going to the bathroom though, but to where he can find things people wouldn't ask questions when they disappear.

He went to the trash bins behind the school. Most of the things that were disposed of were broken chairs, tables, old books, school supplies and some random junk.

He picked up a chair's leg he found. Before moving to the selling part Red needed to test out the inventory.

"Inventory." Red said loudly.

No one is around so there was no need for him to worry about people.

The window opened, Red moved his arm and put the object in an empty slot, with a very small flash of light it suddenly disappeared with a small icon representing it appeared in the slot.

"It worked, YES" Red said happily.

He was not going to sell the chair leg, it could be a good weapon after all. Right length and solid.

"If push comes to shove and i have no other option, i'll use it against Stan and his friends." Red though.

He picked up an old book. Opened shop, and reached for the slot with the book in hand. The same thing happened, just like inventory. The book disappeared from his hand and appeared in the slot, That's when the sell button lit up. With the price being 15.95$.

Red was excited. He found a solution, but before he pressed the button, Red wanted to try and take the book out.

Reaching in the slot, his hand partially went inside. He grabs onto it and pulls it out.

"it worked. Appraisal." Red said while holding the book in his hand. He needed to confirm something. He wanted to compare between the price shown by appraisal and the one shown in the shop.

'Old Math Book : a common object used by students. In bad condition. (Price : 15.95$).'

"It is the same i guess." Red said, putting the book back and selling it.

DING!

'Achievement Unlocked : One man's trash is another man's treasure.'

"System updated."

'Reward : Recycling / 10 XP'

"What the hell? What's recycling? Inventory." The window opened, a new slot appeared at the bottom right corner with the recycling icon image transparent on it. "What does this do?" Red lifts up another book and puts it in the Recycling slot.

'Item can not be recycled. in bad condition'

"Ok, whatever. i'll focus on selling right now. i don't have time for this."

As time went on, Red discovered something as he was selling the junk, he figured out that some cannot be sold and that only a few were possible.

'CASH : 362 $'

"This is annoying, I was so close. DAMN IT" There were not enough junk he could sell, he tried everything.

Red looked down in disappointment, seeing his wristwatch. It was something he won at a game tournament long ago, He liked it but with no other choice, he had to sell.

"Appraisal."

'Wristwatch : a small watch that is attached to a bracelet or strap and is worn around the wrist. (Price : 30.25 $)'

"No, those assholes said it was a 150$ watch. I knew it was too shabby to be that pricey, now what?"

Current CASH (392.25 $)

Red left and went to the bathroom.

"Maybe i'll actually find something here, soap or anything worth selling." Red said looking around.

He took three rolls of toilet paper, made an extra 2.52 $. "Sorry for whomever will use the bathroom later, it's an emergency"

Current CASH (394.77 $).

After looking around a bit more, Red gave up. He'll have to use that chair leg to at least fight back. He went back to Sam reluctantly.

"What the hell man, what took you so long? You blew that bitch up didn't you" Sam said laughing.

Red joked around with Sam for a while, when he had a small idea. He's living the same day again, so there was no need for him to go to class.

"Hey Sam. I think I'm gonna skip class later." Red spoke.

"Wait, That's a bad idea. Stan will be pissed, but who cares about him, college entrance exams are close you can't afford to skip classes" Sam said.

"i know. I'm preparing, don't worry. So what do you say? want to cover for me?" Red asked, he really wanted to leave.

"Yeah, sure and i'll bring you the notes later."

"Thank you. I know I can count on you." Red was reassured

Ding dong ding ♫

"Alright. i'll go grab my stuff and go" Red said as he stood up in hurry.

"Ok. be careful"

Red heads to class with a jog as he grabs his things quickly and starts to leave, or tries to.

"Where the hell do you think you're going, tough guy" Stan stood in front of the door.

"Your mom is home alone, gonna go say hi" Red said with a wink.

Some laughter came from the few students that were already in class. Some giggled while others just couldn't hold it in.

Red was feeling braver than usual for a reason. It was because the next time he sees Stan, he'll have all the skills he needs.

"haha very funny" Stan starts walking closer to Red "I don't know what made you so brave today, but i'll make you eat every word when i get my hands on you." Stan threatened.

"Yeah ok, can you fuck off now?" Red smiled. He was way too confident, it made him act like a different person.

"Maybe i should do it right now, no teacher around to help you now." Stan said with a grin.

Red forgot about that, but it didn't take him long to figure something out. Even if Stan had backing, he was still a student and can't go too far.

"Then do it. How far can you go? you can't beat me too bad because when the teacher comes in he'll know what's happening, and I WILL hit back. You want to escalate this now?" Red answered with confidence. He was a little different, able to think quicker. Those Points were not wasted after all.

Stan freezes for a bit and with an angry face he spoke "Run away then, little rabbit. I'll catch you one day and i promise i'll break your fucking jaw then"

Stan bumps into Red as he heads for his seat, with Red having the biggest smile on his face. He felt satisfied..

Red speeds out of the class and leaves the school while avoiding the teachers, he didn't want to risk getting sent back to class.

While walking through the streets, Red has a weird but logical idea.

"Why not pass through the alleyways? Maybe there will be something on the ground that i can sell" He turned into a trash collector. But he was aware that he had no other choice in the matter. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

He walks through the alleys looking around. The place was clean and the city is really well kept. He looked around more and all he could find was a dirty wristband, an old shoe and a rusty locket. all together got him 36.14 $ .... CASH (430.91 $).

Red wondered. "Why would this shop give me such high prices for junk? Maybe it's paying me for the materials instead of the item itself?

Well who cares. This is way easier, thank god. Oh yes i forgot about the 10$ i had on me, but how do I add them? Whenever i sold stuff the system just added the money itself.... hmm"

Red took the 10$ bill out of his wallet and reached for the CASH word in status.

"It works, good to know" Red muttered to himself. The same thing that happened with the other items when placing them in a slot. it happened to the money.

CASH (440.91 $).

"If i can put money in, can i take some out?" Red wanted to try it, but his hand wouldn't go through anymore. Instead it felt like it tapped on it and a message appeared.

'User's system does not have that option, money can not be taken out yet'

"YET? I got a cheat Power didn't i, i can make a lot of money easily with this but what level do i need to be?" Red thought excitedly for a bit then moved on. There was nothing he can do about it anyways.

"Hey, YOU" A voice called out.

Red turned around finding an odd group of delinquents calling for him. He recognized one of them. He was one of Stan's friends.

"Hey Red, wait up, i need to tell you something." one of them yelled.

"Damn it!" Red said as he started running. He was far from them with a head start, but with his low stamina he got tired quickly, but with no other option he tried and pushed forward running around a corner through the alley. His eyes shone from happiness as he saw an open door.

It's an alleyway, so Red figured that it was the back door of a restaurant. With no other choice he went in and closed it behind him, no one saw him. He leaned on the door listening for their footsteps.

He heard people running past the door, but they didn't leave the alley yet, so he stayed inside and waited ...

"Hey, what are you doing here?.. who are you?"
