The First Game (1)

With everything taken care of, Link no longer had anything to do here except getting the Fragment and winning the war. But all of that will have to wait as the moment morning came he heard the voice.

"It is time!" The mysterious god, Rauj, spoke with him. "The games are starting soon, get ready and you'll be teleported in an hour"

"An hour? That's too fast" Link muttered before he moved, saying goodbye to his family and informing the Military about his alleged journey around the Continent. They of course agreed. In the first place the King gave Link a military rank due to the Guilds, but after the incident, Link was no longer their top priority. And with that, the same notification appeared.

<Allow Access? Yes/No>

"Yes" Link said. This time he spoke with confidence as he was not as nervous as the other day.

WOSH!

Light covered Link, but as he awaited the numb feeling to occur, nothing happened. Even the pain and discomfort his body was supposed to experience was very mediocre, to the point that Link could easily ignore it.

As Link was confused, the warm and Godly feeling overwhelmed him once more, covering him as if to protect him..

"I heard you've reached the 10th Tier? The Mortal Realms peak.. You've finally done it huh.. Well anyways, good luck with the games!" The voice spoke to him one last time before a new scenery in Link's vision appeared. He was in a giant Hall, where other players stood with him. They each sized each other up as killing intent and malice covered the area.

Although all of this was happening, Link was thinking about something else. 'Heard?' Link thought. 'Heard from who? And why was his tone slightly different? As if he was excited…' This thought set off different alarms in Link's mind, but his thought process was interrupted as a muscular man with long ears and two giant swords hanging on his back appeared in mid air. He started at everyone present, sending suffocating pressure until everyone went quiet.

"Welcome, Players" The man spoke. His voice was gentle but rough at the same time, befitting his handsome face with pure white skin on his muscular and giant body. He continued. "This is the event number 985 145 236 548, and for the first time ever we have this many qualified participants.. Anyways, my name is Gregor and I'll be your Host for the first game"

Link looked at the man then at the floating spheres all around the area. 'Are those cameras of some sort?' Link thought.

"I'll be announcing the game and explaining it, so listen up" Gregor looked around before speaking again. "The name of our first game is Hunt.. You will be sent into an area the size of a Continent where you'll be searching and collecting Coins" Gregor flicked his hand and a giant display appeared behind him. On it was a silver coin with the picture of Wings and a Halo on top of them. "Of course they will be the size of an average coin, so looking for them won't be easy.. You'll be obstructed by Beasts, Traps and potentially other Players. After collecting 100 Coins, you will have to make your way to the beacon.. Do not worry, you'll know which beacon I'm talking about when you get there.. Alright, that will be all from me, you will be teleported in an hour, so prepare well" Gregor said with a grin before vanishing.

The Players in the Hall looked at each other before they started moving. Link's ears perked up as he listened to some of their conversations.

"... We split the Coins evenly if we find any and fight together if we find another Player!"

"... We'll focus on hunting other Players, i'll be the Tank and you two cover my back"

"... I can search for the Coins while you two Hunt Players while we stay in close proximity with each other!"

Link listened to different conversations before he got bored and started heading to the back of the Hall. On his way there a man stood in his way and spoke. "Hey kid" He waved slightly. "You wanna team up? I'm strong, I can protect you while you search for Coins, you in?"

"No" Link answered before trying to walk around the man, but he quickly moved and blocked Link's way again. "This is not the Mortal Realm brat, you're not the strongest here, you should have left your arrogance back home, because if you think you can kill anyone here as easily as you did back where you came then you're greatly mistaken!" Link looked at the man properly, seeing his clear bright blue eyes, pure white hair and beard with a slightly handsome face.

Link took a deep breath and spoke. "I'm not being arrogant, i just don't trust you" Link smiled before continuing. "You said I look for Coins and you'll protect me? What makes you think you're stronger?" Link chuckled. "Aren't you the one being arrogant here?"

"You fucking brat" The man angerly spoke, his voice slightly raised. "You think anyone here would want to team up with a kid? You just lost a good offer, I hope our paths cross" He walked away satisfied.

"Fucking retard" Link muttered before continuing on his way. What Link said though was heard by most people there, including the man. They were Archmages, and with their attention on the two, they heard it easily.

Haha!

People chuckled while the man stopped in his tracks. "You're seeking death" He yelled at Link, who was already walking away.

Link leaned against the wall at the end of the Hall as he looked at each Player. His eyes moved all around the area before organizing his thoughts. "43 Players are Tier 10 Archmages, I guess I'm not very special indeed. Hmm.. over 500 Players around the eighth and ninth Tier, while the rest are Master Mages, just like I was when I joined. This should be challenging, but doable"

As Link was analyzing the Players, he noticed a group looking at him with one of their members being the same white haired man. Not only them, there were a few other groups that occasionally looked at him too.

"Damn, I guess I made myself a target with that whole thing.. Doesn't matter, the outcome will still be the same" Link muttered.
