Reunion (2)

Sam's mom invited red in, or more like pulled him inside. she didn't understand why red was crying but her heart kept sinking with every tear.

"Red, are you ok? what happened?" She led him to the couch and sat him down, waiting for an explanation. she couldn't help but feel that something happened to her sammy.

"Miss abby. I got this message, I didn't listen to it at the time and went to shower. but when i did i heard this. i've been out searching for hours but i couldn't find any traces." red was barely able to speak, he kept blaming himself.

He handed his phone to her, playing the message again. the more abby heard the more her face turned into horror.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?? WHO WOULD GO AFTER HIM??" she kept asking questions and her voice became raspy, the lump in her throat can be heard.

She stood up and went upstairs to get her phone and call the cops. Red sat on the couch thinking, he picked up his phone and called the guild. He gave his name and asked for help, but his face turned even paler when he heard what they said.

"Sorry sir, this is an issue between rankers. we're not allowed to take part."

"So it is my fault." red muttered, dropping the phone.

Ring Ring!

The sudden ringing woke him up. He looked over.

'Unknown Number'

"What?" he thought to himself. He picked the phone backup and after a second he answered.

The line was silent, neither red nor the person on the other side said a thing. it was weird, red looked at the phone again, checking if it hung up but it didn't.

"Who the hell is this?" red was in no mood to keep playing with whoever this is.

After a bit, someone spoke.

"So...You're finally out of your hole. Rat" the voice said mockingly, it was deep and familiar.

Red didn't even take a second to recognize the owner, he will never forget it. he heard it on tv, Mr. Masin aka Shawn "Where the f**k is he?'' Red's face was no longer pale, scared or worried. his expression turned cold, his eyes losing their glow.

"Haha" Shawn laughed. "You sure you want to talk to me like that?" he mocked.

"You're quite pathetic, a ranker going after a non-awakened for revenge. I guess I should have expected as much from Stan's dad. dirtiness runs in your bloods." said red, he opened the shop and started browsing. Now that he's calm again and the steady mind skill re-activated, he started looking for tracking skills or whatever is useful. He leveled up a lot, being at 26 he had more powerful skills at his disposal.

"Mhmmhmh.." suddenly, a voice came from the line. it sounded like a person gagged unable to speak. "Heard that?. I dare you to say that s**t agai..." when Shawn was in the middle of his threat, Red cut him off.

"How's your son doing?" he asked, his voice way too calm, it sent chills down Shawn's back.

"What?" he asked.

"Let me get something straight, old man, lay a finger on him or hurt him any further. I'll make sure your son sleeps with one eye open and one closed for the rest of his life till I rip him to pieces." Red had a smirk on his face, he found some interesting skills. He bought them while talking.

"Hahahaha" shawn laughed "I have money kid, you really think it's that hard to get people protecting him 24/7, if you managed to find him that is."

"People? like the ones you sent to my house? the ones that i beheaded?" red stressed the last word a little. hinting something.

"This can be solved easily, you know," said Shawn after some silence.

"Oh really?" red said mockingly.

"You're inexperienced, don't push your luck. come to my house, get on your knees and cut the arm that you used to break my son's arm with, then we'll be even." said shawn "And you can come pick your friend up too, You really wanna start a war kid?" said shawn, with a threatening tone.

"HAHAHAHA" Red started laughing his ass off, he was standing on the roof of Sam's house now, a purple light shining in his hand with a thin thread around 1 meter long dancing in the air "A war? you started that the day your dogs went after my family." red continued, his voice getting more and more inhuman. his eyes turning dark red, all the dogs in the neighborhood stopped barking and started whimpering. even average people in their homes felt their hair stand. this was no new skill. that was reds pure killing intent.

"Ok you ignorant brat. i knew you would say something like that, you have a little strength and now you think you're unbeatable. i left you a present, your beautiful friend" shawn continued "Her name was anita wasn't it? my boys should've had their fun before ripping her head off by now. hahahaha" he started laughing, his voice getting louder "I CHANGED MY MIND, I DON'T WANT JUST YOUR ARM ANYMORE, I WANT YOUR FUCKING HEAD."

Tin Tin Tin!

The line went dead, red held the crushed phone in his hand. the dark red color in his eyes getting stronger and stronger.

Wosh!

Red jumped off the roof of the house, and with a flash he disappeared from his spot, creating air currents so powerful that some of the windows of the houses near him were shattered. With reds level of cultivation, mana augmentation on his body and using an air bomb as a propeller. Even though that did some damage to him he kept healing and moving, the dark red color in his eyes never dimmed the whole way.

Sam's mom ran downstairs after hearing the loud noise, she found her living room window broken and red was nowhere to be seen. Then she heard people, when she looked out, all her neighbors were outside asking what the hell happened. From her place she saw all their windows broken, with some houses' weak fences on the ground.

"What happened?" she thought to herself while walking out. She went to the group of people talking with each other.

"Are you sure?" one of them asked.

"Yeah, he was standing on that roof, then suddenly he jumped down and the explosion happened. I was outside checking on my dog after I heard him whimper." a woman in a white robe spoke.

"What? was he an awakened? did he attack us on purpose?" an old man asked.

"No, I don't think he meant to do that," Sam's mom said. she knew it was red.

"Yeah, he disappeared after that wave happened. i watched some shows on tv, he was just so fast that he created air pressure." the same woman who saw red spoke again.

"That's too much, what the hell are we supposed to do about the windows now."

"Dude, MY FENCE" another spoke.

"Shut up, it's as old as jimmy here. it's a miracle that both are still standing." a man joked trying to lighten the mood, the group laughed. except for sam's mom, she thought that red might have heard from sam and left. she heard from sam about red awakening so she wasn't that surprised.

Red was like a blur, he was heading to the only place he knew where to find anita. the restaurant, that's where he was going to start searching.

he finally reached the place, it was crawling with police cars and police tapes. many officers and government staff were going in and out.

"No" red muttered.
