Killer Bee's Set!

The moment Link thought about feeding Zasho specific Monster Corpses, the Slimes came to mind.

Slimes are considered living acidic jelly and only die when their nucleus inside them is destroyed. However destroying that nucleus by penetrating a few kilometres worth of acidic jelly was very difficult for some.

That nucleus was their Core in itself, and having to actually destroy it rendered the Creatures nearly worthless. Their bodies became useless after being killed. Their terrifying acidic body turns into jelly like goo. Loosing all its acidic properties. While the Core would lose all its Mana after being destroyed.

People would rather avoid Slimes, but due to their quick number increase. if they are not controlled and dealt with properly, they might cause a lot of problems. So Slime extermination quests give decent rewards to make up for their non existent materials.

Link was looking for a way to kill a Slime without the need to destroy their Cores. He was interested in a specific Skill they might have.

'Complete Regeneration'

He had been feeding the Slime corpses to Zasho. Although the poor wolf hated the taste, he couldn't refuse Link's orders.

Link hoped that both Zasho and himself would manage to acquire a Skill like that. Seeing how the Slime regenerates completely even after being torn to pieces, which was why people gave up on the hope on finding a proper way to kill them without having the need to destroy the Core. Their attacks could melt the toughest of steel with ease. That was why people would rather destroy their Cores quickly than risk testing out other ways while dodging and avoiding the Creature.

The Slime's main attack consists of shooting a small amount of Acid towards their enemy. Which easily melts armor and possibly causes massive burning damage. If that did not work, they would jump and dash towards their opponents, attempting to bash into them with their bodies, which the end result is the same.

Link killed many of the Creatures, and to his excitement the bodies were counted when Zasho ate some. Although Link still couldn't find a way to get the Core. He tried forcefully taking it out of the body, his armor suffering some damage in the process, but the acidic jelly came together and still kept going after him with the Core in his hands like a possessed demon, it felt odd. He tried many ways to cut the connection between the body and the Core but everything failed, even his Inventory refused to hold the Core with a message informing Link that it was still alive.

"This thing is too persistent" Link muttered.

Link gave up after a while, but he was still happy that Zasho might have a chance of getting an overpowered Skill.

One day, when Link was leaving the Inn, a guard approached him and handed him a letter. It had the City Lord's seal on it with some fancy decorations. It worried Link a bit upon seeing it.

[Hello Adventurer Link.

Due to an unfortunate turn of events. All my attempts at annihilating the Bandits that have taken residents near our beautiful City all ended in failure. Many loyal Guards lost their lives in battle and the enemy was the last victor.

The Royal Family of the empire refused to send reinforcements, claiming it was nothing but a small Bandit group, and completely ignored all of my pleas for help.

I can not see anymore of my Guards or your fellow Adventurers and Citizens die in the hands of these savages.

I humbly beg for your help in dealing with this group of murders and thieves, and to put an end to their actions that are destroying and ruining our blessed community.

This is an official Quest sent specifically to you, Sir Link. Which upon completion, you will be provided with the appropriate rewards.

<This old man is sly. He made it sound like the most noble thing to do and gave you no space to refuse>

"I hate being forced into things, but I have been thinking about dealing with them anyways. Might as well grab some rewards in the process" Said Link "But the old man will have to wait until i finish with Zasho first"

Hunting Slimes was easy. Especially with a bow and arrow. Link managed to hunt countless amounts of Slimes for Zasho to eat, which he did not fail to barf every time he was ordered to feed.

"YES!" Link celebrated. He had only been taking care of Zasho. Without fail everyday Link hunted countless amounts of Slimes until they became extinct in the area.

The required Mana Crystals were easily bought this time, due to Link continually taking the Slime Quest from the Guild every time he went out to hunt, which earned him an impressive sum.

Zasho started to shine as usual. He howled to the clean sky as his body started to morph, slowly becoming smaller and smaller. Link was worried for a bit, imagining an image of a small Wolf fighting by his side, and it was more comical than threatening.

Fortunately, Zasho stopped shrinking, though his tail became oddly liquidy, like it was made of water. His eyes became blue, radiating a dim light. His ears and teeth became bigger, while his claws became a bit transparent, like they were holding some sort of new strength.

Link was surprised. The message that appeared was a bit strange but at the same time confirmed his theory. "The Blue color is the same color as the Slimes. I knew it" He muttered.

Blue Wolves are a type of Creature that belongs in an area far away. Link never bothered to go there since the trip itself would have taken him most of the day. But the idea of Zasho becoming a whole different type of Creature was making Link wonder about a lot of things.

"This is not the time for that now, let me see what pretty new Skill you got" Link smiled as he pressed on it..

Link was over the moon. He never expected to receive something like this. Although the Skill will use his own Mana, but to Link, Mana was never a problem for him. "I finally got a proper Tank" He muttered.

Another day passed, when another guard came to him as he was eating lunch in the Inn. He asked about the Quest.

Link was extremely pissed off by the Lord's actions, though when he put himself in his shoes, Link let it go. He couldn't blame the man, since these Bandits were indeed too strong and desperate times call for desperate measures. Even if he had to use a kid, and Link already was preparing everything he needed for his raid, with some extra precautions.

He wasn't going to approach them blindly like last time. He now knew exactly what to expect and even prepared for the worst possible scenarios. "Those bastards are strong, and I can't completely rely on my 'Recollection' and 'Blink' Skills. Since last time that mage did something that disrupted the space and did not allow me to teleport."

Link's thought process was that if he couldn't teleport, then he would run as fast as he could if he needed to. Speed was something Link could rely on. If he starts to feel any danger. Link decided to prepare some things that would allow him to temporarily run fast enough that it would look like teleportation.

There was something else Link was interested in. The Killer Bee's set. This was something Link had his eyes on for a while now. Since he got the dagger, Link decided to get himself the rest of the armor and its bonus boosts.

Killing countless killer bees with Zasho was easy. They were too low Level for them and couldn't resist.

Link successfully managed to make another Creature go extinct in the area.

"Alright" Link smiled. He got all the materials he possibly could get for the crafting process. He opened the Shop and navigated to the Killer Bee's Set.

"It has so many amazing boosts" Said Link "I especially love the Health Regens. I needed something to boost my Health since it was lacking a lot"

Link sat in his room, crafting each piece and adding it in his Inventory and tagging it for a Quick Equip.

Quick Equip is a Skill Link recently bought from the Shop just for this. He loved how all he needed to do was think of a Beast Soul and it'll appear, so he wanted to be able to do something like that with normal equipment as well. As he was looking in the Skills section in the Shop he found it.

"Alright" Link had a proud smile on his face "Equip" He said, and a quick shadow appeared all over his body for a second, then disappearing. Leaving behind a beautiful set of Armor with a Dagger in his hand.

The Armor was mostly black with some yellow here and there. The Armor was a little tight on Link's Body, easily allowing his chiseled muscles to be noticed. He looked menacing as he stood.

"They are so dead" Link muttered as he checked the scrolls and couple of rings that were in his Inventory. "Now all i need is to Level Up 'The Story of Genes'"
