Cursed Creatures (2)
The last Ghoul was losing its temper. Its attacks were damaging Zasho pretty well, but the annoying wolf kept regenerating and running around.
Bam!
Link punched the Ghoul, his hand shining with an odd light. He cast Mana Imprint, with Holy Light on his arm, causing the Creature to be by the healing spell and sent flying back.
Argh!
The Ghoul screeched. Planting its arm in the ground, forcing itself to stop as it created a path with its claws. Its body started to shine. Link saw the blood in its bulging veins start boiling. Its skin color changed, slowly turning red.
"What the hell?" Link muttered.

Blergh!
Link spat a mouthful of blood. He supported himself on the wall and stood back up, glaring at the Ghoul in front of him.
"I have only a couple of Rings left. If I didn't take so much time on the second Ghoul and the effects of the Spells faded, I wouldn't have had to use the other Rings on it" Link sighed. He cast Holy Light on himself and Zasho. The pet was in a bad shape, it had no more Mana to keep regenerating and its will to fight was waning.
The Ghoul grinned, bent its legs, they bulged with power as its muscles tore through its skin. Blood slid down, but it did not bother it in the least.
BOOM!
The next second, the floor was smashed, as it jumped with immense force, appearing right in front of Link in a second.
"Fuck!" Link Blinked out of there, but it mattered not as the fiend's ears and nose moved. It managed to sense Link's new position the moment he appeared.
BOOM!
Without hesitating, the Ghoul jumped towards him again, damaging the floor once more.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Did it become stronger? Or is it just me?" Link muttered as he Blinked away again. This has been going for a while now. Its body was completely red, emanating a weird Aura. It seemed like it was in its Berserk mode.
"I didn't even attack it that much, what made it become like that?" Link asked.
<Not sure, but something seemed to anger it. Although Ghouls seem deranged, which they are, but it's most likely rage and annoyance that caused it to change like so. Which is surprisingly too normal coming from a cursed Creature>
Link did not even have a chance to defend. All he could do was Blink out of its way whenever the Creature attacked. The Clone was torn apart a while back. Link tried summoning it again but it kept getting killed too easily, and having two people Blink around wasting Mana was not smart.
The two Rings Link had left were not used for a good reason. Since he needs to actually start attacking after casting them instead of running around aimlessly. That is if he managed to stay still long enough to properly cast and have them land on the Ghoul.
Link tried everything. From Viper Sutra to most of his usual Skills to get even a small advantage, but the fiend left no windows open for any counter attack. It moved with speed and summoned strength way above Link's. He couldn't do anything but Blink away.
This kept going for an hour. Until Link started to consider running away. It seemed like the smart thing to do considering his situation.
"Zero, let's get out of h.." Link did not finish his sentence, realizing something "I'm stupid" He muttered. Opening his Skills Tab, he looked at the new Skill he received. "Death Energy, i forgot about it" Link Blinked a couple more times, but then he stood in place. He activated the Skill as the Ghoul got too close for comfort. Black smoke wrapped itself around the Ghoul, slowly vanishing inside its Body.
BOOM!
Although Link successfully managed to cast the Skill on the Ghoul, it did not mean he was not going to get hit as the attack was already headed his way at the time.
Link had the wall right behind him when he stood in place, which was smashed to bits after he slammed into it with scary force.
"Good." Link stood up from the rubble, smiling "It worked" Said Link. Odd symbols appeared to be fading from his skin. They looked like tattoos. "Godly Body Is really impressive, I received no damage whatsoever. Too bad it only lasts one second"
Godly Body was a Skill Link received a while back, giving him absolute immunity to all damage for 1 second.

A timer appeared next to the Skill, counting down from 24 hours. This was another thing that Link disliked. He could only use the Skill once a day.
ARGH!
The Ghoul growled. It started running towards Link, but something was off. Link Blinked away, and stood far looking at the Ghoul. It seemed to be struggling, like something was bothering it.

"This Skill isn't bad" Link smiled.
<It is a Skill from a Level 5 Creature after all>
The Ghoul seemed to be hindered by something. Its speed reduced significantly as a shade of black appeared randomly on its body.
Link could not waste this opportunity. He did not know how long the Skill could last. He Blinked right next to the Ghoul, two Rings in hand. "Let's do this you fucker!" he muttered, successfully casting both Spells.
The Ghoul growled loudly, swinging its arm at Link with wild ferocity .
Wosh!
Link vanished, Blinking away and appearing right behind the Ghoul. "Stab" He muttered. His Dagger shone with purple and white lights as it moved, smoothly planting itself in the Ghouls back.
"K..ill Y..ou" The Ghoul growled, its reaction to the attack indicated that it might have actually felt pain. It reached to its back hastily with its hand.
"What's happening?" Link asked.
<It looks like it felt that. I thought Ghouls didn't feel any pain, this is odd>
The Ghoul started to turn around, but Link Blinked to the other side, he kept slashing at it with his Dagger, Imprinted with Holy Light.
Wosh! Wosh!
The Ghoul looked more human than ever. It reacted to every attack with ear piercing screams. It was too distracted by the pain to actually start defending itself.
Its skin started to crack with each strike. Blood splattered everywhere as Link relentlessly swung his Dagger. Though this time he found some difficulty hitting the same spot. The Ghoul kept covering every place Link attacked while shrieking. It seemed more like an instinctual reaction on its part than an attempt to defend.
"Damn it" Link frowned. He cut the Creature all over, but all of that would be for nothing if the Skill no longer worked and it started healing itself. So Link started focusing on 3 spots.
It's right leg, right hand and neck. Link attacked one of these spots whenever the Ghoul moved its hand to cover another.
If anybody looked at the scene, they would think Link was bullying a poor innocent Ghoul.
<Poor thing>
Even Zero started to pity the Creature. It looked pitiful, screaming in pain. But if people saw its face and body up close, they would start striking it as well.
Its leg and arm had a disturbing deep cut in each. The bones were in plain view. As for the neck, it no longer held a head.

"YES!" Link yelled, a wide smile on his face. He Consumed the Core and he threw the bodies of the Ghouls to Zasho.

Link sat down near a wall. He took another deep breath. "That was both mentally and physically tiring" He muttered.
<Good work>
"Thanks" Link continued "Oh yeah, i wanted to ask you something for a while now but it wasn't the time back then" Link spoke "Why did i get so much Exp for killing them? I know they're Level 5 Creatures and all, but isn't the difference too much? I get 1 000 to 1 500 Exp from Level 3 Monsters, why the huge difference?"
<The Exp increased by that much due to the Level difference>
"What?"
<They were 2 Levels above you> Zero continued <For example, remember back when you used to hunt Level 1 Creatures? You got like 400 Exp for a kill>
"Yeah"
<If you go back to that area and kill the same Creature again now, you'll get 100 Exp at most>
"What? So the stronger the Monster i kill is, ..."
<...The more rewarding it would be>
"Interesting" Link smiled. He finally found a quicker way to Level up. The Exp required keeps increasing and he needs to keep up.
Link sat there planning his future hunts, that was when a shocking message appeared in front of him.

"What the fuck?" Link was frozen. He looked at Zasho, seeing it had already finished eating 2 bodies, but one was left. "You Leveled up with only 2 bodies? Should i try eating one too?"
<You'll only suffer from severe sickness and stomach aches>
"I know, I know. It was a joke… Kind of" Link approached the third body and put it inside his Inventory, then asked "I'm guessing what you just explained applies to Zasho as well?"
<Yes, since even without their Cores, they still are the bodies of Level 5 Creatures>
"Awesome" Link laughed "Alright, let's head back. Gotta go buy some Mana Crystals"
<With what money? You spent most of yours on those Rings>
"FUCK!"
