While walking "Blind" on the stress with Shuten holding my arm I couldn't help but think how life can be surprisingly good at some times. It's these kinds of small happy moments that truly make me feel like it's worth living, this time I am glad I didn't let my depression get to me.

But if you looked at it from an outsider's perspective, I got over it extremely quickly this time. But from my perspective, from all the time that I have spent dwelling on it, it was too long.

But hearing my friend happily humming while we walked on the streets of a very much real fantasy world, I couldn't help but feel some happiness.

Seeing that I can't use my [Sharingan] right now I focused on using my [Sense], which I am pretty happy to admit is right now sitting solidly on the 2m mark. Of course all this time, even with my [Sharingan] activated, I didn't stop using it. [Sense] is a skill that I wanted to train until it becomes something extremely absurd, it will be my main detection skill, and if one day I can put magic on the equation I can possibly make it even better.

Another positive thing is the constant use of [Wave], the more I use it, the better my grasp of [Wave] is. And even with theoretically millions of different alternative timelines, I am still learning new things every moment, and that I am grateful for.

While I and shuten walked, I examined the wooden staff I picked up, while nothing impressive, it is still a pretty solid wooden staff. I channeled a little bit of [Wave] through the wooden staff.

Wood was incredibly different from metal, it was rigid yet flexible, springy yet impermeable, it could be a lot of things depending on what kind of tree you to it from. It also feels infinitely closer to nature than a sword, and while both metal and wood came from the mother earth itself wood is closer to plant than metal is closer to rock. So I guess that is a reason why.

It was nether more difficult, nor easy to channel [Wave] through the wood. It was simply different. So it took me a few moments to get used to it, but my vast experience quickly helped me fill the normal blanks. So I eventually succeeded.

As expected, the wooden staff didn't chance nor it became a tree again, it simply became more than what it already was; a simple conductor to the [Ripple] of life. Or in this case the mix between the two [Wave].

Slowly I stuck the wooden staff on the ground, the noise of it was relatively loud. But considering I have excellent ears, and everything around me is louder it didn't change things much.

Every time I stuck the ground with my wooden staff, I would channel some [Wave] towards the ground, in hopes of getting the feel of a technique I am trying right now. After a few strikes, I slowly got the feel of it and finally did what I was aiming at doing, use [Sense] with my wooden staff.

[Sense] undoubtedly has to come from my [Wave] reserves, but there is nothing saying I can't channel it on something. And that is exactly what I did. So right now my [Sense] skill thanks to the wooden staff have two starting points, this will undoubtedly help me in the range department, and while the increase isn't much it will surely help, it will also help me in the practice department a lot.

"Sorry for ignoring you. I was kind of trying a new skill here...", I sheepishly say towards Shuten, who was curiously looking around the marketplace, seeing the vendors, the wares, the people.

Shuten looked at me and smiled slightly, a smile that made my damaged heart flutter for a bit; "Don't worry Jin. I figured it was something important... It has to do with your ability to see right?", she asks with a little bit of curiosity in her voice.

Nodding my head, I could almost feel her looking intensely at my blurry and faded eyes for a second; "Indeed, it's pretty similar to sonar-type detection magic. So you can probably guess where I am coming from...".

Shuten nodded confirming some of her thoughts; "Indeed, there is a bunch of different types of detection magics. The sonar one isn't that popular, but it has its ups and downs like every magic. but yours' isn't simple magic, right? It's a [Inner Power technique].".

"As expected, Oni is still Yokai, even if their talent is abysmal in this area, they can still detect something just for the sheer familiarity and experience. You probably saw thousands of different techniques in your lifetime, right?", I said a little bit impressed with the recent development.

Shuten smiled at my probably accurate deduction and said; "Indeed. While we aren't good with the [Senjutsu] and magical side of things, that doesn't mean we didn't see nor experience [Senjutsu] users rather frequently... But your technique is pretty good nonetheless, I couldn't tell it was a detection technique at all. I thought it was just a simple technique you maintained active at all times, those are rather common I might add. But your technique is special in the sense that if you refine it more, it can probably become undetectable.", I nodded along, already expecting this kind of answer. In no moment I believed that my [Sense] was completely undetected. I bet that old monster that helped us after the test probably noticed it too, Morel probably did too.

But as Shuten said, they can't possibly know what kind of technique is, just a technique I use constantly. And that should be something fairly normal, some people may even think it may be part of my cultivation technique or something.

"Interesting, I will be sure to continue polishing it in the future. Now let's finish this mission shall we?", I said and Shuten simply nodded.

"Good the mission is to collect the debt of a merchant called Kev Cuatro. Kev has always being a good customer of Silverhood so it said to not be rough with him, this is literally his first misgiving, and he is only one week late. His store is at Rorasityl Street, a place that is simultaneously close to the slums, the marketplace, and the residential district. So his store location is a pretty strategic point, and Silverhood desires to maintain a good relationship with him.", I quickly recited the mission from memory, after that, I went over all the other minor details I may found important.

Shuten quickly started thinking, soon something popped up on her mind; "Hey, doesn't this mission sounds way too important for two measly [Silver Coins]?", doubt and suspicion filled her voice, I also notice this but compared to the other mission this one was considered the second easiest. Turalion's delivery mission is considered the easiest.

"Indeed. I also noticed it... So this gives us two possible outcomes; either Silverhood really doesn't expect anything to happen, and we are just simply going there, take the money, and get out. Or we were given something slightly more difficult as part of the test.", I said while maintaining a relatively flat tone of voice.

Shuten hummed thinking about those two possibilities: "I agree with you... Btu is till feel like there is something missing... I just don't know what...", frustration bled through her voice, I could most certainly relate. Those moments where you know about it, but can't put it into words, it is literally on the tip of your tongue but it somehow evades your memory.

"*Sigh*. If anything happens I just activate my [Sharingan] and we bulldoze through everything.", Shuten nodded also filling into her memory the name of my special eye.

Soon we started to drift from the fuller part of the marketplace towards some less full streets, don't get me wrong there is still a lot of people, but I can see they are diminishing in numbers. Periodically I would flash my [Sahringan] for a brief moment to see where we are, but until now shuten has been doing an incredible job of following the mission instructions towards our destination.

I've been acting more like a living map than anything, she would often ask questions where she should turn, or which street was the next. So with some great team effort, we eventually arrived at our destination.

[Cuatro Emprium], was the name of the shop. And by what I was able to see flashing my [Sharingan] the shop is closed?... But at this time of the day, he should be open no?... and this eerie feeling in the air. Something I am quickly starting to think is some kind of Draconic Sixth Sense, and if all my experiences until now taught me something, it is that the eerie feeling always leads to danger.

"Wait... should he be open?", nodding at Shuten's question I answer; "Indeed. The mission said that much... But I am feeling some kind of eerie feeling around here, the air by itself feels heavy. Something is definitely happening, draw your weapons and be ready for combat.", I said that in a very strict and no-nonsense tone, I hate unnecessary shit in combat situations. Risking your life is a serious business.

Shuten quickly went on guard, already drawing the sword I gave her; "How should we go about this one?".

I stopped for just a second to ponder and quickly answered; "I will go first, you follow close to me from behind. Be sure to avoid friendly fire, and... How good you are at imbuing [Ripple] into your sword?", I said while I walked close to the door, some passerby on the street grew suspicious, but none of them wanted to intervene in some other people business. Those kinds of interventions usually have very deadly results.

Shuten followed closely behind me, I could hear she had begun breathing [Ripple] ready for combat.

I quickly activated my [Sharingan], put my wooden staff on the wall, and then I looked at the door. It was slightly opened, meaning the place isn't exactly locked right now, something which was quickly reaffirmed when I saw the broken lock of the place.

I quietly opened the door and entered the building, Shuten following behind me, the store didn't have its lights on. All I could see was a bunch of shelves filled with different products, some mannequins here and there, but overall no clue of what is happening.

We walked inside the store a little bit more, and soon we started to hear some strange muffled noise. It was coming from the back of the store, possibly its storage room.

We quickly made a beeline towards the storage room, prepared for the worst. And the worst we did find.

There were eight people in the storage, two vampires, five thrall, and the poor Kev Cuatro the store owner. How do I know they are vampires? If the shining eyes, the protuberant fangs, and the ugly face weren't clue enough for me to discover it, I should probably just retire my brain and think with my muscles

The left vampire was a young male around 22, a Nord if his features are anything to go by. The other vampire in the right and in front of Kev was a less tall Bosmer(Wood Elf). both are currently wearing some kind of thin leather armor, swords on their hips, arrogance, and disdain on their faces.

There were also five thralls, they wore normal civilian clothes and holder makeshift weapons on the hands, probably some thralls they made on the fly on the way to here.

The leftmost vampire immediately looked at us, murder filled his eyes. The other vampire was in the middle of slashing his dagger into the poor Kev. Seeing that if I let these bloodsuckers have their way, I probably would fail the mission, I took a step forward.

The leftmost vampire that was looking at us immediately shouted; "You What-", before he even could finish whatever he was going to say I simply used a combination of [Advanced Step] and [Evade Step] to quickly catch up with the vampire.
