So Many Questions

An hour later we were sitting on his back patio, eating under the sun.

"So alpha is in charge, beta is second, then the gamma. Or in your case deltas."

"Yes, but if your alpha has a mate then she is called your Luna. She is equal to the alpha."

"So what did you mean by a born wolf?"

He seemed to stop and consider telling me for a second but then he relaxed and went back to talking.

"You will be living here for some time so I see no harm in telling you. But I trust you can keep this to yourself?"

"Of course. Besides who am I to tell?"

He smiled at me and continued to eat.

"There are turned wolves, who are just as strong as born wolves. But they are not common because half don't survive the change. Then there are born wolves.

Wolves cherish their pups and live lengthy lives. And last, but not least, there are true wolves."

"True wolves?"

"True wolves are extremely rare. They are humans that are meant for more. Meant for a life as a werewolf. They always survive the change. If they are out there then their mate will find them and turn them."

"What makes a true wolf so special? Why not be born a wolf in the first place?"

He stopped to think for a moment, then continued talking.

"True wolves are special not only because they always survive the change but because they're stronger, and they're faster. But that's not it either. True wolves are special because of what they receive when turned. Not many wolves receive a gift from our goddess. Aside from our mates of course. But every recorded true wolf has had a power of some kind."

"Power? Like flying?"

I had nearly choked on my food when he said that.

"You certainly have a lot of questions. Yes, but flying isn't one that's been recorded. More like telekinetic abilities or super speed. One was even a transient. With the ability ranging from not being seen when you stand still to being able to pick and choose what your limbs go through. I heard a story of one crushing a wolfs heart from inside their chest."

At that time a man came running up and Lucian stood,

"Please excuse me. I have to attend to something. My sister has agreed to show you around."

With that said, he turned and ran off. Not even five minutes later a woman walked up to me. The resemblance between the two of them was stunning. The only difference being her emerald green eyes. Those with her black hair and fair skin only made her curvy, lean body stick out more.

"You must be Phoenix Castiel. I'm Aurora, Lucian's younger sister. You've caused quite some unrest among the pack members. I can't say that's a bad thing though. Things around here tend to get quiet and boring."

She stuck her hand out as she spoke, so I stood and took it.

"Glad I could give you some entertainment. It's nice to meet you Aurora."

Aurora shook my hand then immediately began pulling me to a Jeep that was parked nearby. Only speaking once we reached it.

"My brother wanted me to show you around, but I'm going to do one better. We're going shopping. And tonight you are going out to the club with me."

"But-"

"Nope, no buts. We're going out, and you're going to have fun."

I shut up and went along with it. But I made sure not to forget the reason I was here. I had a job to do, and I would not fail.

She spent the ride talking about the clubs on pack land, anything about the packlands really. But she had decided tonight we would travel off their lands. To a known werewolf club, though it would be a bit of a drive away. We were only shopping long enough to pick out our outfits. Aurora said she only spent the time necessary to find what she wanted when shopping. My kind of girl, considering I hate shopping. I don't understand the needless hours women would spend just sitting around a mall.

She found a tight black dress that came down to mid thigh and had thing straps that crossed in the back. I found a tight black jumpsuit that showed off my curves. There were no straps and a deep neckline allowing for my cleavage to show. When I had picked it out Aurora seemed about to say something but stopped. Instead we back to the pack house and got ready.

When we arrived at the club I was constantly looking around as we walked in. Aware that I was a human in a club full of wolves. People that could rip my head off in seconds. As trained as I was, I know that a trained wolf could best me.

"Calm down Phoenix. This is neutral territory. No one will hurt you."

Aurora had noticed my uneasiness upon walking in. Unfortunately her words did little to calm my nerves. So she chose to lead me to the bad and ordered drinks.

"You need to relax."

She spoke as she handed me a drink and led me over to a booth in the corner.

"Drink and relax. I'll even answer any questions you still have to the best of my ability."

I took a drink and considered her offer for a moment. I did still have questions after all.

"How many packs are there?"

"It's hard to say, the council would be able to give you a confirmed answer. But I know of at least two in each state."

I finished my drink and looked towards the commotion that had just started. A tall dark man was punching another. Up until he was pulled off that is. But then the scruffy looking one on the ground was escorted out.

"What's the council?"

"Each country has a council. They are made of five old wolves. They oversee the packs, making sure our kind isn't discovered. They also determine things such as whether we'd go to war with humans or not."

"So they're a werewolf's government?"

"Yes pretty much."

I got up then, and with Aurora following me, walked back to the bar. I used to enjoy partying, but it had been a long time since I let loose. That's why I decided now would be the best time to do so. It would better her opinion of me.

"Aurora, let's do shots. See if you can beat me. No one else has in a long time."

She smiles at me and agreed. We spent the rest of the night drinking and dancing. I danced with several different guys, but I don't think Aurora went near even one of them. But I was to drunk to be concerned with why. Not to mention I it left me with more options to grind up against.

Aurora had to help me into the pack house by the time we got back. My room was in the alpha's wing, but she thought this was best so we wouldn't wake Lucian.

After just making it into a free room, I collapsed onto the bed. I was asleep before Aurora even left the room.
