Two days later, about 15 kilometers from Pikachu Valley.
Aomori crouched cautiously in the grass, with a lowered posture. In front of him, about ten meters away, several grass-like Oddish Pokémon were sleeping together in a bunch.
Only three Grass-type Pokémon were needed to complete the Dungeon mission, but to his surprise, in such a vast forest, Grass-type Pokémon were the rarest. Bug-types and Flying-types occupied the majority.
Aomori had searched for a long time to find the last few Grass-types and didn't want to let them escape now.
With a wave of his hand, dozens of grinning Pikachus slowly surrounded the Oddish Pokémon.
When the distance was just right, Aomori clenched his fist, and the Pikachus, following his command, threw the prepared vines at the Oddish Pokémon, easily trapping them.
The startled Oddish Pokémon trembled under the overwhelming presence of the Pikachus.
Aomori took out the "13 Totem Chain" and activated it, turning it into a two-meter-long stick.
Thud! Thud! Thud! He struck three times, and the three Oddish Pokémon fell.
"Ding! Main Mission 1/3: Super Rookie (Defeat 50 Grass-types, 50 Bug-types, and 50 Flying-types Pokémon on your own within 10 days) is completed, rewarded with ☆☆☆, 2200 experience points, 200 points, and six regular Poké Balls."
"Ding! Main Mission 2/3: The Goal is Pokémon Master!"
"Mission Description: The Goal is Pokémon Master! Not only should you be able to defeat Pokémon on your own, but the Pokémon you capture also count towards your strength."
"1) Capture six ☆ Pokémon within 10 days."
"2) Capture six ☆☆ Pokémon within 5 days."
"3) Capture six ☆☆☆ Pokémon within 1 day."
After reading the mission, Aomori immediately picked up his stick and knocked out the remaining Oddish Pokémon. He took out the six Poké Balls he had just obtained and threw them at the Oddish Pokémon.
Ding! Ding! Duang! All captures successful, Pokémon get da☆ze☆!
Ignoring the special effects simulated by the system, Aomori found that Main Mission 2 had been completed, rewarding him with experience points, points, and a Pokémon Egg.
He released the Oddish Pokémon he had just captured and looked at the third mission:
"Ding! Main Mission 3/3: Pokémon Master 2!"
"Mission Description: Pokémon Master 2! Defeat all the trainers you encounter, and you will become the next Pokémon Master!"
"1) Defeat 20 trainers within 20 days ☆."
"2) Defeat 30 trainers within 15 days ☆☆."
"3) Defeat 50 trainers within 10 days ☆☆☆."
Defeating 50 trainers within 10 days, it sounded simple but not so simple. He couldn't stay in the forest forever.
Two days later, at the small waterfall.
During these two days, Aomori's morning training included withstanding the pressure under the waterfall.
The training under the waterfall had improved his attributes by a few points. After persevering for a few days, he had completely adapted to the waterfall's pressure, so today, Aomori decided to take it a step further.
Under the pressure of the small waterfall, he slowly stood up.
"Ding! Friendly Reminder: The Pokémon Egg in your backpack is about to hatch. To prevent harm to the Pokémon, please take the Pokémon Egg out of your backpack and place it in a suitable location."
The sudden system reminder made Aomori briefly lose his concentration, causing him to slip and be washed down the large rocks by the flowing water.
"Whoosh!"
Aomori jumped back to the shore, put on his animal hide pants, and realized he hadn't paid much attention to the Pokémon Egg about to hatch. He was annoyed with himself for getting distracted by the system's reminder. 'It seems my mental discipline still needs a lot of work. If I get distracted in battle, it could be fatal.'
He didn't blame the system reminder; external distractions were even more diverse and numerous. The real solution was to improve himself.
Aomori contemplated how to enhance his mental discipline while walking into the cave. Along the way, he encountered many Pichu and Pikachu playfully chasing each other. Whenever they saw him, they warmly greeted him, and he responded with sincere and polite smiles.
In the Pikachu village, his reputation had risen to reverence.
To prevent the cave from being damaged by the Pikachu's skills, Aomori moved the training area to an open space near the cave entrance.
As he approached the open space, several Pikachu in the area shivered in unison. They were genuinely afraid of Aomori introducing new training methods.
'But it seems that ever since they started training with Aomori, the fDomat on the trees has become tastier, and their backs don't hurt anymore. Wait, could it be that Aomori's training has some special effects in that area?'
Pikachu No. 1 firmly believed that it had discovered a hidden talent and its fighting spirit was rekindled.
"Pika, pika!" It scolded the other Pikachu for a moment and focused its attention on the spiraling Gloom Grass in front of it. It tried to imagine the electric current in its body flowing in a similar spiral pattern, and then...
And then what? Pikachu No. 1 fell into contemplation.
On the other side, after entering the cave, Aomori first created a nest out of straw. Then, he took the Pokémon Egg from the system's backpack and placed it in the nest.
The Pokémon Egg appeared just as it did when he first obtained it, with no unusual signs.
But since the system had notified him, it must mean that it was about to hatch, right?
Aomori sat down cross-legged and began to practice controlling electric energy on his own.
After a short while, there was a sudden noise in the cave. Aomori immediately stopped his training mode and looked up. The Pokémon Egg started trembling and emitted intermittent flashes of white light.
Is it starting?
Aomori approached and watched as the white light from the Pokémon Egg became brighter and began to change its shape.
"Ding-ling." The white light faded away, revealing the appearance of the newly hatched Pokémon in front of Aomori.
It was small, canine-like, and almost entirely white. On the right side of its head, there was a blue crescent-shaped crescent moon-like scythe-like horn. Its bangs and fur were shaped like a jade pendant, and its entire head resembled a complete yin-yang symbol. Its slender tail was partially curved, resembling a sickle. Its newly opened pure eyes looked at Aomori with curiosity, and it let out a gentle, questioning cry.
"I remember this one... It's called..."
"Ding! Congratulations to the player Aomori for obtaining the rare Pokémon Absol. For more details about the Pokémon, please check the pet page."
Indeed, it was Absol, my Absol! ω
Aomori clicked on the pet page, and the first box was replaced by Absol's image. Aomori chose to view more details.
"Species Name: Absol"
"Individual Name: Unnamed"
"Level: 1"
"Contract Status: No contract (After forming a contract, defeating enemies by the pet will provide additional experience points to the player)"char
"Title: None"
"Type: Dark"
"Stats: Physique 7, Energy 10, Spirit 7"
"Friendship Level: 1"
"Ability: Justified"
"Moves: Leer (LV1), Tackle (LV1)"
"Description: Absol often resides deep in the mountains and rarely appears in populated areas. However, when it does appear in front of humans, disasters are said to occur. It is sometimes referred to as the 'disaster Pokémon.' In reality, it possesses the ability to perceive changes and imbalances in nature. Driven by its sense of justice, it often warns humans when disasters are about to happen. Over time, it has been misunderstood by humans as a bringer of doom."
"No specific racial values, individual values, or base stats like in the Pokémon world. It's directly converted to a system template? Tsk! The system is taking shortcuts. But this way, the attribute comparison won't be so chaotic."
Aomori didn't choose to change the nickname and simply called it Absol. He closed the system and looked at Absol.
Unlike the mischievous Pichu, Absol behaved well and stayed in the nest without making a fuss. It didn't cry or make noise; it just stared at everything in the cave with wide, pure eyes. When it noticed Aomori's gaze, Absol quickly turned around and nervously met his eyes.
Aomori squatted down, his face showing a gentle smile, and extended his hands towards Absol.
"Absol?" Absol looked at him with confusion. After a while, it tentatively extended its head and gently licked Aomori's fingers. Seeing that Aomori had no other reactions, Absol gained more courage and approached, placing its little head in Aomori's palm for a gentle rub.
"Absol~" Absol let out a comfortable cry and jumped directly into Aomori's arms.
The newly hatched Absol was only the size of an adult cat. Aomori easily embraced it, rubbing its little head.
"I'm Aomori. Nice to meet you."
"Absol~"
