The First Challenge (1)

"Hello, I'm Xia Wen. Now that we are roommates, we will see each other often. Hope we will get along well.'' Xia Wen said friendly to Jingfei and Tan Rong.

Tan Rong simply smiled and said,'' Hi, I'm Tan Rong."

Jingfei went close to Xia Wen and said holding her, "I'm Jingfei. Nice to meet you."

'Pretentious devil.' Ying Yue thought to herself looking at Jingfei.

After a few hours after unpacking, a staff came and told them to check the announcement board.

The Announcement Board,

[To all the participants of TBOTB,

The first challenge is here. A list of 5 songs will be given. Each group will choose a song from the list. Two teams will choose the same song. They will be competing against each other. Each member of the winning team will get +5 points. Each member of the losing team will get -2 points. It means 2 points will be deducted from the points each member of that team earns in the future. All teams will know about their opponent half an hour before the competition. These points will determine whether you stay or leave. You will get a week to practice before the competition. Each team will get a tutor who will help them to practice. The judges will often stop by and see your practice. If you have any questions for the judges, you can ask them then.

After reading the announcement, everyone went back to their rooms. Xia Wen took a nap as soon as she returned. Tan Rong was still unpacking some things. Jingfei was polishing her nails. As soon as Ying Yue returned, Jingfei came to her and said,'' Ying Yue, isn't it great that we are roommates?''

" Not for long. Just two weeks. Stop being so close to me." Ying Yue said in her usual cold eyes and tone. She went away from there. She also took a nap to rest. Before sleeping, she thought, 'Please God, let me compete with Jingfei's team. The first step of stepping on her will be defeating her in the first round.'

The song selection,

All the participants were called into the hall. There was a big box which was covered with curtains.

The four judges were there. Hou Ling started talking, " We will call the name of team leaders one by one. They will come with their team members. Then they will enter the box and choose a song. After two teams select a song, that song will be removed automatically. The sequence of how you'll choose the songs is determined by your previous points. The summation of whose team members points are the highest will go at first. And, the summation of whose team member's point will be the lowest will go the last. Any questions?"

No one replied.

He went on, "Then the first team is Xiong Zongying's team."

One by one went to the box. After four teams, Hou Ling called, " Next up, Jiang Ying Yue's team.''

Ying Yue with her teammates went inside the box. Though it seemed dark and small from outside, it was bright and spacious from outside. There was a big machine in the front. There were four songs left. After discussing they decided to go with Me too by Meghan Trainor.

In the dorm,

"Ying Yue, you are back already?" Jingfei asked her in a mocking but sweet voice. Jingfei's team was the second one to go.

"I thought you would take time."

"No matter what points we had, we got selected because of our own skills. Unlike someone, who got a place as a replacement." Ying Yue smiled at Jingfei and said.

"Ying Yue, I didn't mean it like that." Jingfei gave a weak smile and said. Then she went to her bed.

'Though I know you did.' Ying Yue thought to herself.

After everyone got settled, Ying Yue took her team to their practice room.

"Guys so we don't have much time. Just a week. Who among you is best in choreography?"

Lai Yan alone raised her hand.

" Ok, so Lai Yan and I will make the choreography. And I'm distributing the lines. Till we are done with the choreography you guys practice your lines."

Ying Yue tried her best to distribute the lines equally. The rest of them practiced their lines while Ying Yue and Lai Yan choreographed the dance.

"This song expresses self-love mostly. So, we should try to choreograph in a matter that can show how much we love ourselves. And even better if we can show a bit of attitude or arrogance.

"Hmm, how should we choreograph this part? It is an important part which requires to look a bit sexy and at the same lovely." Lai Yan asked Ying Yue

"Ok, how about we do it like this?"

Saying this she showed a dance move that got approval from Lai Yang.

After their practice time was over she and Lai Yang finished the choreography.

They decided to work on it from the next day.

The rest of the day went by tiredness. No one had the energy to talk or even walk after their first day.

Before going to bed, Ying Yue heard Jingfei thinking, ' This time no one can stop me from winning.'
