The selection II

"You don't look tense," one of the girls asked as she sat beside Madison.

" Do I need to?" She asked because she didn't see any reason why she should be.

"You know the royals are the scariest gods in Begtuok, and you can't escape them, no matter what you do,'' the girl added.

"Maybe if we tell her a little about the princes and what she is going to deal with as a slave, she will stop her nonchalant attitude" another girl who has been glaring at Madison like she wants to plug her eyeballs out of their sockets said.

"You know what viper, I don't know what I did to you but am not acting nonchalantly ok".

Ignoring the name that she was called, she went to stand in front of them as she began the story nobody asked her to tell.

Even though she was curious to know about the royals and what made them so scarily and dangerous, she was not going to give viper the satisfaction that she was even a little interested in her story.

" King Varog is married to Queen Xavia, and he has five male children. Prince khron, prince Nazim, prince Kontas, prince Tez and the last prince, prince Hezra. All the princes of Begtuok have power from each of the elements and they…"

" But there are only four elements and there are five princes," Madison said, trying to make a point.

But it seems like she shouldn't have because the viper gave her an enormous 'am going to kill you if you interrupt me again' kind of look.

What's her problem anyway? She was just making a point.

"Well, prince Kontas isn't queen Xavia's son, '' Rei explained.

" You know if you could have been a little bit patient you would have heard me explain" she scoffed.

"Well fuck you "Madison snapped angrily

at her, not caring whether she heard it or not.

She was done taking her nonsense and was ready to take her on.

"I hope you didn't just insult me because if you did, I am going to butcher you piece by piece" she snarled with so much venom.

OMG!! Did she just say she was ready to take her on?

That must have come out wrong.

"You don't know what the fuck you mean? Madison asked, praying to whatsoever listening god that she does not know what the fuck you meant.

" That is a strange word and I have

been meaning to ask you what it means. Most of the things you say are strange" Rei said looking confused and so did all the other girls.

They had on their faces a look of confusion.

Well, thank God for that.

Turning to face her angry granny because she looks like one, who was still giving Madison a death glare, she grinned then said, "it means you are great, yeah it means you are great".

But it seems like she didn't buy her lie cause within the next second she was standing right in her face and she nearly stopped breathing.

Thank God someone asked her a

question about prince Kontas, if not, Madison didn't know what would have happened to her.

She needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut.

"Well the King slept with one of the royal witches and got her pregnant and that's how prince Kontas came to life" well that makes sense as to why it was only the four princes that has the power of the elements, but Madison wonders what prince Kontas power was, was he a witch like his mother.

When she finally summoned up the courage to ask, the same trumpet sound came again.

Madison wonders why it always sounds at the wrong time.

As soon as the sound was heard, the door that was behind them magically opened, and they heard Semet's voice from the dark room.

How did she even get in there? The place was really giving Madison chills.

"Welcome ladies to the selection ceremony, where you will be given the honor to serve a royal. You will be instructed how the selection is going to go but first, we have to welcome the royals" she grinned as she left them once again in the strange room.

Trying to make out what was in the room because it was so dark in there, Madison decided to see if she could walk around which turned out to be a bad attempt because immediately she took a step, she stepped on someone's leg.

"Whosoever you are, if you take one more step and touch me again, I am going to claw your face off" viper snarled.

Ok, for the fact that her face is crucial to her, she was just going to stay where she was and wait it out.

It has been an hour of endless waiting and Madison n was already tired of it.

They were not even allowed to sit or talk to themselves, they were just meant to stand.

Madison was getting frustrated, for the love of all the gods out there, there is a human here.

Even though she was the only human there, still a sit won't hurt right.

As she was still trying to figure out what would happen if she were to sit on the floor, a deep rough native voice was heard from an invisible radio.

"Welcome gods, goddesses, beasts, and

guards. I welcome you all to the great selection that we have been waiting for, but before we start the trials that will help us choose the best five slaves that will serve the princes let us first welcome the royals"

Madison pictured him walking around slowly because that made it less boring for her.

"Let us give it out to his royal King, the son of thunder, nothing rules above or below him King Varog" he screamed in a high-pitched voice that made Madison wonder why her eardrum was still intact.

Immediately the king's name was called, and there was a lot of screaming from the women, shouting from men, and a roar.

Madison wasn't expecting animals to be invited to a royal event.

What was she expecting anyway? This place was already weird to begin with.

Well, there was nobody she could ask because it was impossible to see anybody, and they were expected to be quiet, so she was all on her own with her curiosity.

When all the shouting and roaring were all over, the introducer continued with the introduction.

"Now let's also give it up for the ice queen and the most beautiful woman, Queen Xavi" he screamed again as the same shouting and roaring started all over again.

"Let us also give it up for the first prince, he was born of the fire, he is the fire prince khron" the same shouting and roaring came again.

Madison, didn't think they we be leaving anytime soon.

Not that it bothered her, but she just does not want to keep on standing.

The second prince was introduced as the prince of water.

Madison was gradually losing interest in this introduction.

But the introduction of the third prince caught her attention.

He wasn't introduced as prince of anything and born of anything, like the rest, he was just introduced as prince Kontas and leader of the soldiers, and Madison wondered why he wasn't introduced like the others.

Immediately after prince Kontas's introduction which wasn't as exciting as the other ones, the introducer quickly rushed to introduce the fourth prince who was of air, prince Tez and finally prince Hezra whom he said was born of the land.

When the introduction of all the royals

was done, all the slaves were told that there were two trials that they must pass to be able to choose their master.

And they were also told that those who win the two trials will be the ones to be chosen as the five slaves that will be moving to the final trials.

"So the rules of the trials is that

there are no rules"

Which means they can use any means possible to win.

"When I said that there was no rules, I

mean that you can use any method possible to win. I know some of you will be feeling down about all these, but the thing is that you don't have a choice. You either kill to win or be killed, one way or the other you Won't be leaving here. If you lose, the spell that was placed on you will kill you before you even have time to think about the pain".

Madison couldn't believe she was in this kind of situation.

"Am I going to make sure I kill you humans cause I am not ready to lose to you pest" Viper snarled right next to her ear for only her to hear.

She might be human, but giving up wasn't one of the things she knew how to do. The way nobody here wanted to lose and die

so does she not want to.
