The next day, a sunday, me, Mineta and Deku got up early to go train in ground Beta.
As we were about to leave, a voice called out from behind.
"Can we join too?"
I turned to see Tsuyu's face inches from mine, her bug eyes nearly freaking me out.
Behind her stood the rest of the class, even Bakugo.
Oho, looks like someone is improving?
Noticing my gaze, he tch'ed, and looked away.
Heh, what a tsundere!
But I won't help him unless he asks me too.
He needs to learn and it's high time he sheds his stupid superiority complex.
"Sure!" I said, "It's not like I own ground Beta?"
"No, I meant to ask if you'd help us train and improve, like Deku and Mineta." Kaminari clarified.
"You guys want me to?" I asked.
Everyone but Bakugo nodded.
Even Tokoyami bowed out, albeit reluctantly.
But not Bakugo, the ever prideful.
Hmph! We'll see how long you can afford to remain a stick in the mud.
"Alright then, let's go." I said, slapping my knees.
"You know Haru, sometimes, when you act like a dad, it's unsettling." Mina said.
"He is a dad, though?" Kirishima replied.
"That." I said, pointing at him, before walking off, as the others followed.
Once we reached ground Beta, Aizawa-sensei greeted us with a sour look.
"Gaah!" He groaned, "You brats couldn't take the day off, could you?"
"You don't have to supervise us Aizawa-sensei. Ectoplasm-sensei is much better suited for this." I said.
"I think so too. Unfortunately, he's busy today. Something about his girlfriend being mad at him or such.
This is why I'm not in a relationship!
That said, here we are." He said, rubbing his eyes and scratching his beard.
"Go on, start already." He added, shooing me away.
"Sure." I said, and called Mineta over.
"You brought your slingshot?" I asked.
"Yes, but its just a regular one. I can't shoot my balls with this. They'll get stuck to the strap." He replied.
"That's okay. Today, I want you to just shoot regular shots, and familiarize yourself with a slingshot and its mechanics.
How it works, aiming, adjusting your shots according to wind pressure and speed, shooting while running, that sort of stuff." I explained.
"Is that why you asked me to buy all these bouncy balls?" He asked, raising a bag of them at me.
"Yep. These should be about the same weight as your hair balls, so you should practice with them. Get going. Try different routes and terrains. That's how you'll get better at it." I answered.
He nodded and went off on laps around the training grounds, shooting away.
Next Tsuyu came over and looked at me curiously.
"What should I do?"
"Tsuyu, yes. Is your quirk that of a river frog or a tree frog?"
"It's a tree frog." She answered.
"Then you should be able to climb stuff right. You shoul train with that.
In fact, Jiro!" I called out.
"Yeah?" Jiro came over and asked.
"You can lift stuff with your earphone jacks right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"And they can pierce concrete, cant they?"
"If I try real hard, sure." Jiro responded, confused
"Then maybe you can use them to run up walls and climb buildings.
3 dimensional maneuverability is a boon when it comes to combat.
You and Tsuyu can practice that today. In fact, Sero, you can join them too. Try to swing across buildings with you tapes. Practice ascendingand descending with full speed, even mid swing until you can reach anyone at any height without difficulty." I suggested.
"That's ...a great idea. Thanks!" Jiro said.
"Yup kero!" Tsuyu ribbited.
"Kay'then!" Sero replied.
"Great, then next. Tokoyami, you can wrap yourself in Dark Shadow, can't you?"
"Yes." He replied.
"And Dark Shadow can fly?" I pointed out.
"Of course!...of course. That's....why didn't I think of this?" He muttered.
"Well you can think of it now. Follow Sero and the others and train with them too." I said, moving him along.
Next, I turned to Momo.
"Momo, when you make your canons for offensive purposes, I'm guessing it takes a lot out of you, with all that mass required and what not? Not to mention it's just a one shot ability. What happens if you miss your shot?
You'll need to create gunpowder and another cannon ball, and also that stuffing stick or whatever.
It's high cost, low reward.
So today, try making simple stick grenades, the World War 1 kind. That should extend your offensive power without cutting on your reserves.
Aoyama, Mina, you go with her too.
When she throws a grenade, you'll practice shooting it out of the air with a quick, short burst of your laser and acid shots.
That way, you'll improve your aim and avoid tummy aches." I said.
"Sounds fun!" Mina replied, grabbing Momo's hand and dragging her away.
"Oui, monsieur!" He said twirling and left with Momo.
"And remember to make sure that both of you stand on the same side and aim away from each other. Don't want anyone getting unnecessarily hurt, alright?" I added as their faces went pale and they nodded.
So they were planning on standing opposite to each other after all.
Idiots!
What am I going to do with these braindead fools?
I sighed, and motioned Sato and Kirishima over.
"Sato, how long can you hold your muscular form?" I asked.
"5 minutes regularly, but if I'm full on sugar, upto ten or so. After that my blood sugar drops drastically." He said.
"And can you both do a handstand run?"
"Yeah."
"Definitely!"
"Great. Then today you'll both do handstand runs across Beta while maintaining your full power, until you can even keep them up in your sleep."
"Sounds dope. Let's see who gets round first!" Kirishima shouted before he got on his hands and ran, only to stumble and fall face first nearly a block in, much to everyone's amusement.
"I'll get better damnit!" He shouted in response and went back to it, Sato following close behind.
"Alright Shoto and Iida, come'ere." I said.
"Shoto, right now you use your ice as your primary offense and defense, while you make your fire into a makeshift flashbang or a small caliber shot.
You need to change up that dynamic.
Use your ice to slip people up strategically or freeze them in place with targeted blasts instead of your usual area of effect shenanigans.
Try it on Iida. Use your fire as crowd control to move people where you want them and then use a targeted freeze attack to stop them without damaging the surroundings like you did in the gym yesterday."
"Okay. I get where you are coming from. In cities, I can't use my ice cliffs or I'll hurt civilian targets or damage buildings, right?" Shoto deduced.
"Bingo! Now Iida, you need to get acquainted with the use of short boosts with recipro burst and sharp turns while at full speed.
You'll train with Shoto on that. He'll try to stop you and drive you into a corner while you will practice evasion and obtuse maneuvers. Ojiro, you can practice the same too." I replied.
"With my tail?" Ojiro asked.
"Yeah. It can support your body weight right? So try jumping around using it." I explained.
"Okay. If you say so." He said.
"Brilliant!" Iida exclaimed.
"Thank you, Haru-san! I appreciate it!" He said with a bow.
"Jeez, no need to bow Iida and what did I tell you about thanks among friends?" I said, pulling him up.
"There's no sorry and thanks among friends?" He answered hesitantly.
"Yep!" I said, karate chopping him on the head.
"Ouch! You didn't need to hit me!" He protested.
"That's how you'll learn!" I said, holding my head up high.
"Let's go." Shoto said, taking Iida away.
"Now then, Shoji and Uraraka. You guys can continue to train the way you did at camp.
Hagakure, you can join them too." I said, as they looked on disappointed.
"Yeah, sorry. I don't really have any ideas about your quirks specifically." I replied.
"It's fine. I'm sure you'll figure something out in time." Shoji assured.
"That's very kind of you!" I praised, as Shoji turned away, and smiled happily before following the girls to find a training spot.
"Finally, Kaminari! Your quirk is the one that I have the most ideas about.
Say, do you know what a railgun is?" I said, with a wide smile.
"A little. They're those navy guns right? With the spikes?" He replied.
"Yup. They work on the principle of electromagnetic acceleration.
When electricity flows through their coils, it generates a magnetic field that accelerates the spike to supersonic speeds.
Now, your quirk basically makes you a living generator.
So what you're going to do now is try creating a solenoidal magnetic field between your fingers. Here do it like this." I said, messaging him a document explaining the phenomena.
"And don't shoot at us. Point it away from yourself and others, understood?
In fact, today you should just practice making the magnetic field. You can try it when you have perfected your control over it." I warned.
"Uh, sure. Okay. I get that. But how am I supposed to understand this stuff. All these symbols are making my head spin." He said.
I facepalmed and sighed before looking at Deku, who nodded reluctantly.
"Fine. I'll help him." He said, and dragged Kaminari away.
All that was left in the square now was Bakugo, standing around shiftily, like a kid who's run away from home but is now lost and nervous in the big city at night.
"You know it won't hurt to ask for help right?" I poked at him.
"I don't need your damn help, you bastard!" He said, before stomping away.
"Fine. Have it your way then. See ya." I said, and walked away to watch over the others as Aizawa-sensei gave Bakugo a look over.
"Bakugo, you come with me. We need to talk." He said, and Bakugo's face warped into further annoyance.
"Tch!" He intoned and followed Aizawa-sensei to the office.
Meanwhile, I cloned myself with Ectoplasm's quirk in a camera-less corner of the training grounds and teleported away.
It was almost 10 am and the Nomus were going to attack Endeavor soon.
Arriving in Kyushu, I used Search to find him.
Using Toru's Invisibility, I spied on them as they sat for a very early tea time chat in a high class restaurant on the top floor of a high rise glass laden skyscraper.
Imagine if Starservant was here.
He'd have a field day with this one.
Maybe I should 'port him over forcefully, just for the lulz.
Just as I was thinking about teleporting Starservant into their room, a dark shape crashed into the building, followed by two more, who attacked the supports, bringing the top half of the building crashing down.
The Nomus were here!
