Landing heavily and skidding along the ground, Grim was surprised to see a smiling Yami sitting on the floor and waiting for him.

"Yami?"

Not too far off in the distance, Mimosa was busy healing Asta while the others supported her to the best of their abilities.

'That sword... He didn't have it earlier.'

Seeing Grim eyeing his new sword, Yami couldn't help but chuckle.

"Took ya long enough kid." He laughed and slowly stood up to stretch. "But I didn't take you for the type to run."

"Run?" Grim cocked his head to the side confused. "Looks like not taking a dump for a week did more damage to you than I thought."

Shaking his head, he looked at Yami with pity.

"Now even your brain has turned to shit. How tragic~"

'This little bastard.'

Smiling, he wouldn't never say it out loud, but he missed talking shit with Grim.

"What are you doing here Yami?"

Conscious of the raging devil king chasing after him, Grim wanted to end this conversation as soon as possible and focus on what really mattered.

Seeing that Grim's heart wasn't fully in it, Yami puffed his chest out and said-

"I'm here to help."

"Help?" His frown deepened. "Since when did I ever need tha-

*BANG!!*

Landing even heavier than he did and cutting him off mid sentence, Lucifero's eyes locked onto the two.

"Since that guy appeared."

"GRRRIMMMMMMMMMMM!!!"

-BOOM!

"Nngh!!"

Following his roar, the gravity in the surrounding area violently increased.

"Damn!" Yami cursed as his knees almost buckled under the weight.

'That's a crazy amount of magical power!'

Feeling Lucifero's magic up close, he finally understood just what kind of monster they were facing.

'Grim was fighting this guy all by himself?'

Taking a look at his younger counterpart, he realized just how much he had matured in the 6 months he hadn't seen him.

'I've missed so much...'

Realizing that he wasn't there to witness Grim's growth, feelings of disappointment welled up in him.

As his captain and the one who taught him how to properly utilize ki, he should have guided him more.

"Hey Grim." He started. "I know that fighting with others isn't really your thing, so I'd like to introduce you to something a bit more sophisticated. Have you ever heard of jumping?"

"Jumping?" Grim repeated looking thoroughly confused.

"So... What do you think?" Yami asked after giving him a brief introduction to the art of jumping.

Honestly, from the moment he heard that Asta and Yami had fought together, he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to team up with the good ol' captain. Besides, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to fight with Yami against a strong opponent.

"Y'know what *grins* fuck it! Lets jump his dumbass!"

"Heh." Yami grinned and walked up next to him.

"Now that's more like it!"

Taking inspiration from Grim, he stared Lucifero down and said-

"Lets fuck him up."

Standing side by side, they faced the devil king together.

[Breath of the Kitsune] [Dark Magic]

With both of them flexing their magic, white flames and black light exploded out of their bodies.

Grinning and brandishing their blades, their grimoires opened up simultaneously.

[Red Sun] [Black Moon]

*FWOOOOM!!!*

Activating their spells in union, the enhanced gravity surrounding the two suddenly ceased as a small red sun and deep coloured black moon hovered above their heads.

[Black Moon: An enhanced version of [Black Hole] that allows Yami to take control of the mana within the range of his mana zone to absorb or erase any spell he deems necessary.]

[Red Sun: Unique to [Breath of the Kisune], this spell gives Grim complete control of the gravity within his sun's orbit.]

""Oh?""

After not seeing each other for 6 months, they were both impressed by the method the other had used to resist Lucifero's gravity field and move freely.

"Hey Grim, quick question."

"Hmm?"

"Before we fight this guy, I gotta know. What did you do to make him so mad?"

'What did I do?...'

"Honestly, I didn't do much." He admitted. "Outside of ruining his ascension, exposing him as a pervert and letting Asta hit him from the back with something big and black. I don't think I did anything to warrant such a reaction."

"...I feel like you just said something crazy but lets ignore that since we don't have the time."

"I also scratched him by accident if that means anything."

"Why would it?"

"I was aiming at his head."

"...With your sword?"

"With my sword."

"..."

"..."

"Heh, you're really something else." He laughed feeling a bit more relaxed than earlier.

"But why did you call him a pervert?"

"He chose a woman stealing narcissist and necrophiliac/kiddie diddler as his contractors."

"Doesn't that just mean he has bad judgement?"

"I think it's as more of a birds of feather type deal."

"...I guess that gives us another reason to kill him."

"I guess so."

Pulling the fox mask down onto his face, he broke the [Breath of the Kitsune] spell cycle.

"Mind if I take the right?" He asked feeling the unrestricted power of the form coarsing through him.

"Go for it, I'll handle the left."

"Mmm."

Now that everything had been discussed, all that was left to do was-

Kill Lucifero.

Stomping down hard and pushing off the ground, power exploded out of the two as they shot forward towards the devil king himself.

"Hmm." Humming lightly and watching the two from his floating rock, Adramelech - the supreme devil from the second layer narrowed his eyes. 

"Humans... they're really courageous."
