15 The Equalists

After the fight with Korra, Tenzin looked at Gon. The boy had been a thorn to his side for many years now. If it were not for the boy, Korra would never have had the notion to run away, and in turn, the White lotus wouldn't annoy him as much.

After Korra had escaped, Iroh, Tenzin, and many White lotus execs had gotten sent to look for her in a possible place that she could have gone. For weeks and months, he had gotten forced to endure the southern water tribe's winters in the wilds and, at points, almost died. If it wasn't that he had a flying bison with warm fur, Tenzin was sure that he would have winded up dead from all those trips he got sent on.

Tenzin had to admit though that the boy was a prodigy. He remembered all the time that Gon had fought him and his mom and had been able to escape. It was scary to think of the child's power level now, plus the kid was a dual bender.

"We need to talk," Tenzin said, "Follow me."

Gon nodded and started to follow Tenzin. Thet entered a room that looked like a study, and Tenzin took a sear.

"Sit down," Tenzin said.

"Okay," Gon said as he sat down, "Now, why do you want to talk to me?"

"You are very special. I would even say as special as the Avatar. You are the first dual bender an evolution in bending that has never gotten seen before, and because of that you need protection," Tenzin said

Gon was a bit annoyed but understood the reasoning behind Tenzin's words. The only problem with them was that he did not want to be restricted by the guards that Tenzin wished to use to watch him.

"I don't need protection. I am stronger than most of your men in the White lotus. I beat thirty of them when I was fourteen, and as I grow older, I grow more powerful," Gon stated, "YOu don't have to worry about me."

Tenzin sighed, knowing that this kid wouldn't listen.

"How strong are you at this point," Tenzin asked.

"I am pretty strong," Gon said, deciding to be vague, "I can probably beat you, same for Korra. She was holding back. She did not use martial arts."

Tenzin was taken aback by the fact that he was getting played with by children. He was also a little pissed at himself for being weak.

"I guess it is time to start training," Tenzin thought.

Gon quickly left his office.

(Two days later)

"This is the start of your training," Tenzin said as he should Korra and Gon to an outside training area, "These are the Air bending gates, built hundreds of years ago to help in teaching an Air bender to flow with the wind. Once you can do that, then you are one step closer to be a master."

"Jinora come here," Tenzin said.

"Okay, dad," Jinora said.

"Show Korra how to do it," Tenzin said.

Jinora quickly added wind to the gates causing them to spin at quick speeds and started to move through them elegantly. She danced through the gates, never rushing. She soon finished the exercise.

Tenzin looked at Korra and said, "It is your turn."

"I can do this," Korra said as she ran through the gates.

She ran into the gates at full speeds, not trying to move with them but break through them. As soon as she entered, she got thrown out.

"Tenzin, can I give it a try," Gon said.

"Okay, just don't break anything when you fail," Tenzin said haughtily.

Gon walked into the gates slowly, and steadily the first gate came, but he moved through by following it. He used a part of the wind part of his elemental martial arts and started running with the wind. As soon as he moved, he became the wind, and before everyone knew it, he had passed the course.

"How did you that?" Tenzin asked, surprised.

It had taken Jinora many years to pass the course, but he had only taken one try.

"Korra and I studied this martial art called the four elements style, and I mastered all elements. Korra didn't master all of them, only three. She is crap at the wind," Gon said.

"Hey," Korra said.

"I'll prove to you that I can do it," Korra said as she ran through the course and kept failing.

"I am going to go out," Gon said.

After Gon had met the equalist, he had wanted to do some espionage on them. In his opinion, they were a bunch of people angry at the society that hated them for something that they couldn't control. Gon remembered the memories of the body before he had taken over it and was disgusted by the hate that people had for non-benders.

This body's father, no, his father locked him in a hut with little to no food or water hoping that he would die, and everything could get swept under the rug. Some benders were disgusting people, but not all were like that. Korra wasn't like that.

Gon quickly left the Air bending temple and went looking for where the equalist group hid.

As he was walking down the streets, he almost got hit by a car.

The driver came out and said, "Oh, I am very sorry."

"It is cool, try not to hit people next time," Gon joked.

"Haha, you're funny. I am Asami," The driver said.

"And I am Gon," Gon said.

"He is cute," Asami thought.

"Let me treat you to dinner for almost killing you," Asami said as she slipped a paper to him, "Meet me at this restaurant Friday."

"Okay, well, see you there," Gon said.

Gon quickly walked away from that area and went towards where he had last seen the equalist, the park. He walked up there and saw a flyer that talked about a meeting later today.

Gon quickly picked it up and went to the location. As soon as Gon got there, he saw the non-benders getting beaten up by benders. The words that he heard from those benders pissed him off.

"You useless people of society are getting bold," A bender said as he fire punched a non-bender to the ground.

Gon quickly attacked the bender chi blocking him and then knocking the guy out.

"Thank you," The non-bender said.

Gon entered the meeting hall and saw many other benders beating up the non-benders and decided to fight back to protect them, but before he could do anything, he saw a man with a mask punch a bender to the wall.

"Amon," The non-benders shouted.

Gon quickly started to fight the other benders to the ground, either chi-blocking or just straight up kicking them. Many of the benders shot attacks at Gon, but he would weave through them using his footwork to dodge and quickly hit all their pressure points.

Amon was more brutal. Every time Amon punched, a crack got heard, and the person who got attacked would scream from the pain and faint.

Soon they had finished off the benders.

Gon and Amon looked at each other and nodded.

Amon stepped up to the stage and said, "This is what happens when things are not equal. We need balance, and to do that, we need to beat the benders."

"Yeah," The non-bender group shouted.

"No," Gon said as he stepped up to the stage, "Things can be different. I am a bender, and I helped you."
