A forgotten peace and boring meeting

Adam casually walked through the expansive garden surrounding the castle, all the flowers glowing brightly in the setting sun, thinking deeply about unknown things.

He is currently alone in the garden, as all servants are busy serving hundreds of nobles, each more demanding than the last, and he prefers not having to bother with servants watching his every move anyway, so he requested to be left alone while outside.

The garden flowers formed beautiful waves of color that swayed in the gentle wind, and a few decorative ponds with benches could be seen a little ways away, some fish jumping in and out of them.

Adam plucked a red flower, a rose to be exact, and began walking to the nearest lake in sight.

Adam sniffed the flower, hummed a tune to himself, and sat down at the nearest bench, which held his weight with surprising ease, considering it was made out of simple wood.

Such peaceful sights are rare for Adam, just enjoying the beauty of the Earth, its gentle caress as the wind passes by, the methodical yet chaotic chirping of birds, the splashing of water as fishes formed schools, all finding safety with one another.

Adam enjoys peace, and he likes war, but recently one has dominated his life more than the other. Upsetting a delicate balance in his mind.

He took a deep breath. The remarkably clean air entered his lungs and his body celebrated breathing the air it was so familiar with, and not some artificially created imitation.

Adam simply sat there, looking at the little critters that bustled about below him, the ant hill that housed the ants and gave them purpose, the bees that kept the whole ecosystem running by tending to the plants, which patiently awaited their arrival with their vibrant colors.

Adam couldn't help but get absorbed in the vibrant atmosphere, and he hummed a simple tune, which turned into a simple song he would sing to himself in his past life to comfort himself when in distress.

As Adam began singing, he surprised himself with how gentle his voice sounded, he doesn't remember the last time he spoke so peacefully.

(Song name: Rises the Moon with a few changes to fit the story)

*Gentle guitar starts playing in Adam's mind*

"Days, seem sometimes like they'll never end." The sun blazed in the sky.

"Suun digs its heels to taaunt you."

"But after sunlit days, one thing is the same, rises the moon (OoOonn)" The moon slowly rose as the light slowly began turning into darkness.

"Days. Fade into a watercolor blur. Meeemories swim to haunt you..." Adam's past made his stomach churn, but his mind found peace.

"But look into the lake. Shimmering like smoke. Rises the moon." War came, killing many and burning everything with smoke and fire blazing.

"Oh-Oh, close your weary eyes. I promise you the autumn comes to daarkeen faading summer skies..." The storm of the Hive came after a short-lived victory, not giving any time to rest.

"Days. Pull you down like a sinking ship. (Oh-Oh-Oh)" The weight of his duties, which slowly consumed him, until he met Serenity, or Serena for short, that is.

"Flooaating is geetting haarder." It only got harder when the community formed and collapsed, bringing only more exhaustion to him, which he didn't even notice.

"But tread the water child, and know that meanwhile, rises the moon." But he must keep moving, he has no choice, but at least, he has his family to fight for.

"Some hold you like a daffodil. Uuprooted from its gaarden." He is the hope of the Empire, their shining lucky star, the hope of his people, the joy of his wife, the idol of his son.

(Daffodils symbolize new beginnings, hope, and joy)

"They'll take what you own, but even so, rises the moon." Many have stood and will stand in his way, but he will fight on, for his people and family.

"You'll be visited by sleep." The risk of death is high, and he'll probably never wake up eventually, but he will still fight.

"I promise you that you that soon the autumn comes, to steeal away eeach dreeaam you keep..." The aliens and humans alike will fight him, but he will stand strong.

The area seemed quiet and peaceful for a while after Adam stopped singing. As if the surrounding nature was trying to take what it just heard.

Adam let out a shaky sigh and looked around, his wife was right, he needed a break, and he would make some time first thing when he got back.

"You okay?" Serena's gentle voice resounded behind him, catching him by surprise.

Adam turned to look at her, she was wearing a cute red dress, one that looked very polite and high quality but didn't show off her body more than what was necessary.

"H-" Adam was going to ask how long she had been there, but was cut off with an answer before he could ask.

"Since you started singing. I-I was going to try to scare you, but when I realized this might be pretty important for you, I decided to wait for you to finish."

Serena sat down on Adam's lap sideways since it was more comfortable than the bench.

And she wanted cuddles... mainly the cuddles.

Serena smiled, "You have a beautiful voice dear! How come you don't sing more?

"Oh please, that is way too much for me," Adam spoke with a slight flush.

"...no...NO WAY! Are you embarrassed?! Haha! I thought I would never see the day you would be shy about something!" Seren laughed, but not at Adam's expense. Adam even joined in on the laughter when he realized he could still be shy about such silly things.

That's it, there is the flawed human in him, the shy one, the scared one, the angry one, the loud one.

The one who made that first speech with real passion, with genuine care for humanity, and a belief they would triumph over it all.

The one who could slaughter hundreds for a good reason and change the lives of millions for the better just for the sake of it, a man of both sides, perfectly balanced on a gentle swaying weight.

He doesn't know when things went too violent, when one side dominated the other and changed him, but he won't stand for it any longer.

He will stay ambitious, strong, and lead by example, but he must not forget himself and his goal.

His goal is to build a galaxy, a universe where humans, and maybe even the aliens, don't have to fear, don't have to worry, a true utopia on a universal scale.

Not to conquer for the joy of killing, not to slaughter for the sake of it, but merely to allow the utopia to be, violence is a simple means to an end, a tool he will use to achieve this goal.

Serena let Adam think to himself whatever he was thinking about, and snuggled up as close to him as she could, leaning her head on his chest and shoulder and resting in his arms.

Eventually, the sun was almost gone, and the two had been sitting in silence for hours, perfectly content with it, but Adam had to say the dreaded sentence.

"We have to go..." This caused Serena to cling to him tighter, but let him go eventually with a groan.

"Dont worry, I will have plenty of free time from now on, I promise." Adam kissed her forehead and took her hand, leading her towards the castle.

Serena happily followed with a spring in her steps now, no longer so annoyed at being forced away.

The castle was beautiful inside too, keeping its medieval charm intact, with cream-of-the-crop technology employed in every corner to ensure their guests would have nothing to complain about, Adam and Serena were very impressed.

While no place in the Empire could rival the Imperial Palace, this place would definitely be the second most impressive in regards to comfort and looks, and Adam had everything he could possibly desire at his fingertips.

The same went for Serena, with all paying them both the respect they deserve.

The two of them had plenty of fun watching Alexander and Lea struggling to keep up in the fast-paced parties and balls, which the two of them had to deal with as well of course.

They were the special guests, they had to be special and live up to their image together, which they did with no problem considering the absolute animal Adam can be when in his zone.

Well, he didn't act like he did when with his soldiers, cause he's not dumb, but he certainly kept the party going.

Serena didn't disappoint either, dealing with all the ladies and keeping them company while the men did their own thing.

Alexander did an excellent job assisting his father while he took the spotlight, earning approval from many, while Lea did the same with Serena, both Majesties watching over the amateurs.

In the end, the party was nothing special, and Adam with his family returned home, but, a few days later, the noble family received a large donation from the Emperor as a gift for, "The most beautiful garden he has ever seen," making the Noble family a lot more popular.

Adam stayed home for the next month, spending time alone or with his family, his personality becoming calmer again, his mind balanced again, same with Alexander, since he wanted to spend some time with his girlfriend so she wouldn't feel abandoned.

So the Emperor saved himself from losing sight of his goal, saving the Empire in the process.
