Suprise

I slowly drift too sleep while waiting for Kanthari to wake up as I haven't had a proper nap for a while now.

"What the hell happened to you Ciara, why do you have two tails now!!" Screamed Kanthari jerking me awake from my peaceful sleep.

I uncurl from my sleeping position and stand up on the bed while thinking about what to do. I decide to use my new Telepathy skill to see if I can calm her down.

'Calm down Kanthari it is still me Ciara, I have only evolved and gained the ability to telepathically communicate with you.'

"What do you mean calm down you have completely changed your appearance."Shouts Kanthari. "And seriously what is with the 'only evolved and gained Telepathy' I have never heard of this happening before in my life this is not as simple as you make it out to be at all!!!"

Kanthari jumps out of bed and looks at me with a mixture of surprise, fear and anger. Seeing that my previous attempt at calming her down failed I try to think of anything that would work.

Having an idea I start purring as I rub against her legs trying to look as non threatening as possible. After a while of Kanthari just standing their rigid with shock and not knowing what to do. She eventually calms down and sits back on the bed while stroking me.

"Okay Ciara I trust you but please can you try and explain what is going on with you." asks Kanthari while calmly stroking my back.

Seeing that Kanthari has finally calmed I decide to try answering her questions via telepathy again.

'I am extremely sorry for frightening you Kanthari but I dont know what else I could have done. Yesterday I still didnt have a way of communicating with you so I wasn't able to tell you that I was going to evolve.'

"I understand your reason for not telling me but what do you mean by evolve as I have never heard of that before in my life." said Kanthari while interrupting me.

'Well ever since I was born I seem to be able to evolve if I kill enough creatures stronger than me. I know that this makes it sound really barbaric but it's not like you dont kill anything by being mad adventurer.' I tell her this hoping that she is happy with what I give her and doesn't try to dig deeper and discover that I have reincarnated.

"Well that's interesting I wonder what makes you different from other creatures and why you can evolve. Sais Kanthari, "Oh and dont worry about the killing part I am not very worried about that. I might change my mind if you start killing other sapient beings though."

I sigh in relief that she believed my story and didn't try to dig any deeper.

'Well with this hopefully out of the way why dont we go pick up another quest.' I say this and then proceed to start walking towards the door. 'Are you coming Kanthari'
