Escape

Before I leave I remember that one of my unique abilities is Inventory. I open up my inventory to see an expansive space that has a volume of 17m³. I am extremely shocked at the size as this is massive before I remember that it is my level that controls the size.

Walking around the cave I collect 4 Void Gems and 3 Metallic Earth Gems that I straight away store in my inventory.

Bored of staying in one place and hungry from staying down here for so long, I venture of down one of the tunnels that branch away from this entrance cave.

I wonder aimlessly through long stretches of dark tunnel finding it harder and harder to see where I am going as I move away from the place I fell in.

Eventually I come across a dimly glowing light on the wall of the tunnel up ahead. I hurriedly break I to a sprint as I think that it could be the entrance and I might finally be able to find some food.

But as I get closer to the light I slow down in disappointment. I realise that it is just a patch of moss growing on the side of the tunnel that is giving of the light.

At this point with my stomach growling almost every second, I am to hungry to even care anymore. I decide to scratch the moss of the wall with my claws before chowing down on it like a ravenous beast.

Satisfied with my meal I slowly lie down on the ground. My stomach revolts against me as I get extremely painful cramps that make me want to die.

[You have eaten glowing cave lichen.]

[You have been poisoned and will lose 10 health a second for 30 seconds or until cured.]

I dimly stare at the message I realization of my stupidity before the pain robs me of my thoughts causing to roar out in agony.

The next 30 seconds of my life was pure agony as I vowed to never eat something again without appraising it first. Some good that did actually come from this besides the valuable life lesson, was written on the screen now floating in front of me.

[Poison Resistance lvl 2 Acquired]

[You are either really famous and the target of repeat assasination attempts or one of the biggest idiots in the world that just eats whatever they see. +1% poison resistance per level.]

Seeing the description I cant help but think that it was a bit pointed at me for mistake causing me to feel even more ashamed than I already did.

With this slight hiccup in my journey out of the way. I continue onward marching to what is hopefully the exit from this godforsaken place.

I pass through multiple intersections and at each on I stick to the left hoping that by doing this I will eventually find the exit.

Exhausted from walking nonstop for hours I decide to stop for I bit to catch a breather. While I lie their prone on the ground I start to feel a slight breeze drifting through my fur.

Realizing that this could be my chance of getting out of here. I focus carefully on the feel of the wind to see if I can somehow pinpoint its direction so that I can find its origin.

5 minutes of waiting later and I think that I have pinpointed the origin of the wind which is down the right corridor. Turning around with renewed energy I stand up and start marching down that tunnel.

I keep the momentum and excitement going for another full hour before eventually slowing down as the monotony of the task gets to me.

I end up traveling for another 2 hours before I start to see some light illumination coming from in front of me. I start to sprint again as all of my spent energy comes rushing back to me now that my goal is visible.

I arrive to see that I am now on the side of a mountain with a breathtaking view of a lush green forest made up of massive redwood trees.

I sigh in relief as I take my first step out of the cave that has held me captive for the last day.
