Transport: tunnel ambush

"Recently a couple of our undercover agents that were on a mission got exposed, resulting in them getting detained by the foundation. One of our informants reported that they are currently being transported to a small airport to be flown out of the country, their destination is unknown but it is safe to assume that it is for interrogation." said Artemis.

"And why should this be our concern? They are just some agents, normally we wouldn't be sent out for a small job like this." said Crawler

Artemis raised his hand, signaling Crawler to be silent.

"You are indeed right, there is something special going on with these agents. Yesterday they sent a classified document back to HQ which apparently contained some alarming classified information on a certain project. They were summoned back to HQ to report in more detail but they never showed up, this is most likely due to them being detained and it is also most likely the reason that we are being sent out for this mission."

"What exactly was the classified information?" questioned Leo.

"Name already says it Nightmare, it is classified." responded Pirate.

Leo sighed, he expected such an answer but it was worth a try in his opinion.

"We will be dropped off near a tunnel that has low traffic during the night, the transport will be passing through here. Another agent will be standing in front of the tunnel wearing a safety vest and a hard helm turning away any vehicles under the premise of ongoing road reparations, any vehicle except the transport will be turned away."

Artemis took a deep breath before continuing.

" Once the transport passes into the tunnel a modular vehicle barrier will be set up at the exit to ensure that the transport can not escape. We expect there to be about six armed operatives in the convoy due to it's restricted size."

"And what will our plan of attack be?" questioned Crawler.

"We will be pinching them from both sides, ensuring that they have no cover. Me and Pirate will take the front of the assault, this will cause them to hide behind their vehicles, in the meantime, you and Nightmare will be pushing up from behind to quickly take out the majority, I recommend you to use a 2x scope max due to the limited range, HQ also has something for you Nightmare."

Artemis pointed towards the floor.

When Leo took a look he saw a black shield with a glass pane in the middle.

Artemis spoke once again.

"You probably know that the effective firing range of your MAC-10 is 50 meters and the max range is about 100 meters. HQ issued you a deployable riot shield with an armored glass pane in the middle for vision, the pane is one way so you don't have to worry that they can see you."

"Isn't this really risky, Artemis?" questioned Leo.

Artemis shook his head before responding.

"Don't forget that the enemy is being pinched, they can't go anywhere. If they decide to push up on you Crawler has you covered, once they are in the tunnel we pretty much win."

"A helicopter for escort will arrive after one and a half hour two kilometers from the tunnel away, once we get our agents out we will head to our exfiltration point and hold it down until the heli arrives, make sure to check your equipment one last time, we will arrive in twenty minutes. Once we arrive get in your positions and keep an eye on your radio."

Everyone nodded and started checking their equipment.

"Crawler, my life is mostly in your hands, let's execute this perfectly, shall we?" said Leo.

"Don't worry, I won't make mistakes. This should be quite easy." responded Crawler.

Leo made a small incision in his arm and filled two vials with his acidic blood before putting a plug on them and stashing them away.

He quickly patched his arm up as he noticed that the helicopter was landing.

The squad quickly jumped out of the helicopter and Artemis spoke.

"Alright! Everyone get in position and radio me once you are ready! The transport will be here in about thirty minutes so make sure you are ready by then!"
