The first Encounters! (2/2)

(( I will use the [] Brackets to show Inner thoughts of the MC and ((if you didn't already realize)) - for explanations like this))

[I'am ready for this fight, I knew that it would happen sooner or later when Pokémon watch me and decide that they need to do more than just let me pass by.

But I hoped that it wouldn't happen this early.

I never really had a big fight in my previous life, but I guess you couldn't compare most normal fights humans have with a battle between wild animals.

If levels exist I know that I have to be around level 1-7 guessing from the types of Pokémon I saw around here.

I wonder if I can actually only know 4 Moves like in the Game or in the Anime because in a real life scenario it wouldn't really make sense.

I know that in the worst case scenario I could at least tackle it. I would prefer not doing that though, I imagine that that would hurt me as well, other than it would be in the game. I have never played American football or rugby so I'm not really used to that.

I guess I would be pretty weak then if I would look at it in a level kind of way. I -]

The Spearow makes the first move and I get pulled out of my thoughts. It uses its beak to attack me, I guess you can say it is the "peck" Attack.

"Ouch, you stupid poke-chicken that hurt!"

It managed to hit me with it's peck-attack and it hurts quite a bit. I really seem to be at a low level.

[- I guess being lost in thought during a battle is pretty idiotic.]

It still hasn't gotten far away so I decided to jump after it and counter with a simple tackle attack, to find out if I actually hurts me too. It connects and I manage to hit the low flying Spearow. The Spearow crashlands after falling only a few centimeters to the ground.

[Holy shit that actually was way more effective than I thought! I guess it did not expect me to counter that fast! And it doesn't even hurt. I guess Poochyenas are though little fellows.]

Sadly the Spearow gets on its feet - uhm, I mean claws - again, and by the looks of it, seem nearly unhurt.

[Damm, it seems like my tackle attack didn't work out at all, am I really that powerless? Should I try something different? I know I have to be under level 5, do Poochyenas actually know other attacks then tackle when they have a level that low?]

The Spearow - now being back on its claws - begins to fly again and not one second goes by flies full speed straight towards me. I manage to evade the attack just in time. It continues to fly straight for about 2 more meters before going for a 3rd peck.

I jump away and manage to kick earth up into its face!

„Hell yeah! Sand attack - success!"

[Hm. But that's weird Sand attack shouldn't work against a Spearow right? I mean it's a ground Type move. I guess the rules of the games don't apply completely to this world. Just like the fights that don't seem to be turn-based. I -...]

The Spearow landed and shook it's head wildly, the sand attack really seemed to bother it. Well, shortly at the very least because I just began flying into my direction again, interrupting my thought process again.

I try to go for the sand attack again because it seems to have had more effect on that bird then my tackle. The Spearow now being really close again, ready's it's head for its peck attack.

I try to jump away again, trying the same move I just did a few seconds ago. But the Bird doesn't seem to be the dumb Spearow I thought it was altering it's course slightly, actually ripping out a bunch of my tail-hairs.

„AHHHH SH*T! Oh my God, that hurts you bast*rd! what the f*ck!"

Not only Spearow managed to hit me again but it also managed to dodge my sand attack like that. Making the earth I aimed at the path it would have taken if it flew straight just like last time, hit the grass uselessly not having any effect on the fight.

[As it stands not much had actually an impact in this fight. Sure the peck hits hurt, especially my tail hair loss. But other than that neither the pecks nor my tackle actually did anything then exhaust both parties.

I need to do something that actually ends the fight rather than drag it out and make it more painful...]

The Spearow realizing that it hurt me is now standing triumphantly about 2 meters away from me. I look into the forest and other the pond searching for something that actually helps me win this fight but I see nothing that could help me with my Spearow pest problem.

Now both of us are just standing there waiting for the other one to attack or show an opening.

I decide to make the first move rather than wait for an other peck to hit me and run straight towards the Spearow which is still standing on the ground and hasn't elevated into the save and for me unreachable realm that is the sky. Now being really close to my opponent I make my legs put in hard work, towards a hard stop and turn my back towards the Spearow.

The Spearow taking the bait jumps up towards my back ready for the next Peck-Attack.

But that's the plan. And it fell right for it. I begin digging like a madman-mad dog that just found a dinosaur bone. Setting of the biggest Sand Attack that I have ever seen.

Which isn't that impressive if you think about it, because this is only the 3rd Sand-Attack I have ever seen.

The Sand-Attack is a complete success and hits it right in the face, even manages to get into it's beak. The Spearow is thrown out of its attack. Landing right behind me.

I turn around to use this opportunity to my advantage. I decide to close the small distance with a jump towards it.

While my arc-Nemesis is still trying to shack the sand away and tries to cough up the sand it ate.

I open my mouth mid-flight and arrive at its neck. I bite into it with my in proportion to my head gigantic teeth, as hard as I can.

Just like the predators I have seen in countless nature documentaries.

The Spearow screeches in pain. And tries to escape from my attack. I stand strong and try to twist my head around to shake the power out of my first arch-nemesis.

A few seconds pass and the fight scene around the pond-oasis in the seemingly water-less forest becomes quiet.

The Spearow falls to the ground and with it, I go down as well. All that movement of the Bird actually got my teeth a bit stuck so I go down with it.

A moment goes by and I can finally get my teeth out of the strong bird beneath me.

I stand victorious!

„Hahaha, I finally got you good you overpowered chicken, this fight is over!"

The Spearow doesn't move anymore, and I get anxious.

"Dude, are you ok?"

[Oh shit don't tell me I killed it, I mean I get the whole Pokémon is no longer able to fight thing but this?!]

"Hey, Spearow are you good?" - I lower my head to check if it's unconscious. But then it finally hits me...

"Oh fuck. It's dead. It's f*cking dead. What did I do?!"

[Sure I didn't want to lose or get hurt but I just wanted to hit the air out of the poor guy not kill him. Holy shit what now?!]

***********************************************

God: „hahaha Karl, that's how it ends. This is the life of animals. Kill or be killed, but it seems you still needed to learn that.

I guess I should tell you now:

You attac.

You protec.

But most importantly you now got a snac.

Sadly I guess it's isn't the time for humor yet. You look pretty upset about the whole ordeal.

Let's see how you deal with this situation, and what you do next..."

To be continued...
