Later that evening Rak travelled to the northern region of Polink once again. Right now Rak required capital so that he could buy as many buckets of seawater as required. 'By my estimation one bucket holds about 30 liters of water. Thing is..... how many of these do I need to fill a room?' Rak wasn't exactly sure.
After all in his past life he was far from a genius, and could have even been considered a waste of space. All he did was laze around all day and live a pretty unfulfilled life. 'I was pretty sad back then.' Rak thought to himself. He felt lucky to get this second chance of sorts otherwise he would have died without ever pushing himself to his limits.
'If I can complete this Special Mission, my rise will be unstoppable.' With that thought Rak arrived in the northern region. Now Black Root wasn't that hard of an opponent but would definitely be hard to track down, as after the incident with Captain Grip Black Root was scared of being targeted next.
Unfortunately for him Rak didn't have no intel to go on. While the intelligence on most Captains were incomplete, after the ruckus Rak had caused Ram and Eni had a much easier time tracking and taking note of information. Because of this they had been tracking Black Root for a number of days unimpeded and knew where he was staying at.
'After all, a pirate is a pirate, even if they're careful they're not perfect at hiding their traces. The only reason I haven't been caught is because I've abused my high physical stats, and they lack anyone competent in tracking.' Rak concluded as he came upon a small shack in a secluded part of the northern region.
In reality this was quite an obvious place to be hiding but it was also disadvantageous to Rak. The bigger the building the more weaknesses it would have which he could find and exploit, not to mention he could whittle down the numbers if necessary.
Not only that but a small group of pirates seemed to be patrolling the shack. 'Well, this might not be too bad after all.' Rak smiled before hiding in some bushes. This shack was naturally placed within a small forest to the northwest of Polink.
After observing the pirates for some time, Rak left the shack, he had devised a plan.
The next day in the dead of the night the patrol group was walking around the shack once again. "Guys this is so pointless, the Captain's just paranoid." One of them in a red bandana complained. "Shut up if he somehow hears you, you'll be killed." Another with yellow shirt replied.
"So what? We only have about 80 people left, you think he'll kill me? Besides I think I might just leave the crew. I am starving and we have no funds anymore. If Captain Black Root was smart he would have just had us take over the Northern Region entirely and then we could live like kings!" Red Bandana continued to make his case.
The group of about 10 continued to debate about this topic as they walked around the shack, before coming upon an odd barrel. Seeing this the group were confused, but simply walked up to the barrel and opened it. "...Is this what I think it is?" Yellow Shirt asked in delight.
"I think so!" Red Bandana exclaimed. They had found barrel full of food. Recently they had been starving so this was like a godsend to them. Immediately the group grabbed some of the food and began munching on it.
"Yo this is pretty good." Red Bandana said before continuing to eat some of the meat in the barrel. "Mine's pretty chewy if I am being honest, let me try some of that." Yellow Shirt replied before swallowing down the food, they were still hungry after all so he wouldn't waste the food.
After eating most of the contents of the barrel the group of 10 patrolling pirates continued walking around the perimeter. Soon it would be their turn to switch and head back into the shack. 'That fucking shack, its so cramped, I rather stay out here....' Red Bandana thought before entering the shack.
Some distance away Rak smiled seeing these events unfold. 'While that food isn't exactly poisoned..... lets just say it won't do their stomach any favors.' Rak mused as he waited for the next group to come out of the shack.
Yesterday he had noted all the patrol movements of the various group. They had only come out to the shack somedays ago so naturally their patrol patterns weren't varied or refined either, so Rak simply noted down where each group was likely to pass by and placed barrels in those locations. His plan was simple, food poison all of the crew.
The smell inside the shack would become unbearable meaning either Black Root would have to leave or kick out his crew. Once his crew was kicked out of the shack they would obviously camp some distance away from the shack so that Black Root wouldn't have to deal with the smell.
This would be when Rak struck. On the other hand if Black Root left the shack, things would also be much simpler as Rak would simply follow him and strike him down. Nonetheless Rak was confident in achieving victory.
