Forty Seven
Jie stared at him for a moment then he picked up the remote control and with a steady hand pointed it at the massive television screen in the corner of the office.
The screen came on and Jie watched in disbelief as Natzin held a conference where she announced her company's new partnership and also introduced a new group of executives who would be responsible for the company's future business strategy.
The camera zoomed in on one familiar face and Jie watched unmoving while the assistant tried to go out of the door and leave him alone but Jie wordlessly raised his hand to stop him from leaving. He watched Natzin's face with mounting anger as she smiled and laughed and answered questions from the press.
'How had this happened ? Right under his nose. Was that what she had been planning when she insisted on having an office in the building? All this while she had been scouting his top staff and planning a coup?'
