Goodbye: Silent Retribution

Victoria stumbled back, "You—you can't be!" Her jaw dropped.

"I can't be what?"

"You're the snake! The snake!" Victoria raised her tone as her throat gasped for air.

"How could I be a snake, Lady Victoria?"

"I know it's you! It must be you! Who else?!"

"Your son?"

"Don't bring my son into this! He was innocent this whole time, he died, my son…" She grabbed her own hair as her voice kept squeaking and becoming louder.

"My son, my poor son, he died because of you! You're the snake! It's you!"

"Are we doing this again? Sigh…" Karyan stood up from the ground, "Sera…" he whispered, and the snake came out of the bed sheets.

It bit Victoria's ankle, gentle like a snowflake; Victoria fell to the ground.

"Ah, again I have to do this…" he ran through his hair with his fingers.

It was the third time when Victoria realized who he was and his third time of knocking her out.

"Gerto Hando" was an elixir made to remove their memories, simply making them forget they existed in their minds.

Of course, a person who's more knowledgeable and used sorcery could simply retrieve that memory back, but as for the exact victim, everything stays the same.

As Karyan gently poured some onto her nose to make her forget the smell and the moment, he leaned back, "this should do, Victoria."

He turned around, "Sera, we need to go."

He put his boots on and a cloak that was twice his size, Karyan stole from Maiko not long ago, "I will send you a letter, please, continue looking for Barbara," he whispered to a sleeping lady.

Taking the pen out of the drawer and a recent letter, he placed it into his pocket while holding the pen.

"Lanta…please, take all the poison into your realm now; my safety is at risk." He commanded the Goddess of Snakes.

In a matter of seconds, all his potions, pills, and herbs vanished into thin air, like it never existed in the first place.

"Thank you, Lanta," he nodded and took a piece of paper.

"Lady Victoria, your warmth and solace were something that my own mother sometimes failed to provide," he bit his lip while looking at his draft, "would it not be too cringe?"

"Ssshhh…"

"Yes, you're right, it doesn't matter."

He continued, "however, my mother and brother are everything I have in this world. I will find the real reason why the snake was reborn and at the same time, I will be looking for my mother and brother," he let out a long sigh.

"But for my own safety, I need to flee from here. Please, update me with all the information you get about my mother at the addresses I will be providing in my future letters to you."

He looked back; Victoria was still asleep, "thank you for everything you've done for me here. I will not forget it." He put down the pen.

And silently walked out of his chambers with Sera behind him.

Karyan welcomed the gentle embrace of the snake as it wrapped around their neck. The cool, smooth texture of its scales created an unexpected sense of comfort, and a quiet understanding seemed to form between the two.

He didn't mind that his neck had a feeling of coldness and wetness, as long as the creature was near him.

"Let's go, Sera, before we leave this shithole, we need to do one last thing."

"Ssshhhh…"

"Yes, we will go visit him."

The door made a squeaky sound as Karyan opened it and stepped inside. He noticed Maiko peacefully asleep beside Rosa, bare-chested.

Karyan took out a pill from his pocket and gave it to Maiko to ensure he stayed asleep; it was a painkiller.

While looking around the room, Karyan searched for something resembling a hammer and spotted Maiko's sword.

A mischievous grin appeared on his face, "well, well…"

Approaching the sword, Karyan studied its sharp blade. He mused, "I know you'll end up at the finest doctors in town to heal it with the water magic, but no magic can restore your pride."

With a smirk on his face, he lifted the sword and decisively cut through half of his pride.

"Aaaaaaah!!!!" Maiko immediately got up, feeling the disconnected blood vessels and nerves.

In a dark room, Maiko suffered a terrible injury. His body, once whole, was now divided, and his blood flowed freely from the cut.

"And you call that your dick?"

Karyan laughed.

This part of him, so personal and private, was split by the cruel edge of a blade.

The pain was immense, and the need for help was urgent; without quick action from healers, his future generations were left in question.

"Aaaah! Fuck! What did you do to me?!" Maiko yelled from his lungs so loud that it looked like his soul was going to escape from his body any minute now.

"No!!! Aaaah! You fucking bastard! I'm gonna kill you!"

Maiko felt his leftover penis was going through a sharp and tingling vibe, the end red like a fiery sunset stung and burnt on his bare skin.

"Son of a bit-"

Before he got to say anything else, "…Sera." Karyan whispered, and the snake bit inside his neck.

It released just enough venom to put him back to sleep.

"This is for your wife, you nasty freak."

Luckily, Sera wasn't the poisoned snake only; she had secret abilities that Karyan couldn't wait to explore.

As Sera removed her fangs, Karyan looked at Rosa who was trying her best to keep her eyes shut, pretending she was sleeping.

"Hey, Rosa," he called her name, "I know you're awake, so open your ugly eyes." Karyan frowned.

"I didn't see anyt-"

"Shut up."

"…"

Rosa's eyes were now filled with tears, "I will not say anything!"

"I told you to shut up! Sera…!" Karyan ordered.

Sera's fangs were as keen as Maiko's sword blades. She swiftly pounced at Rosa's eye, lodging there and releasing dark green venom into the eyeball.

"Aaah!" Rosa screamed as loud as Maiko did just a moment ago, "aaah! My eye! My eye! It burns! My eye!"

She placed her hand on her eye, hoping to remove the stinginess.

"I will not repeat myself," Karyan spoke in a low voice, "you will pretend you didn't see anything that happened here and from now on, look after Lady Victoria, got it?"

"Aaah, what have you done? My vision! You son of a bitch! Bloody bastard child!"

"If anyone asks what happened here, you will tell them that you were attacked by bandits that Maiko owed money to, you understand?"

"Oh My God!" She sobbed, completely ignoring Karyan, "my eye!" She cried.

"If you will not do as I say, we will come back for the second eye. Understood?" Karyan lowered his head to look at her, "aish, will never see with this eye again."

He walked away, "It was nice enjoying your company, now goodbye." He waved with his hand and walked out.

"Let's hurry, before they all rush here," he put his cloak on his head and fastened his steps

I apologise if this scene was a bit too much for some of you.
