Chapter 3 - Void

I pushed the door open. Instead of what one might expect would happen, the door did the complete opposite, it fell upward.

that's right, the door, which was pushed to the right, was now soaring it a void. Outside of the door was… nothing. There was nothing beyond the doorway.

I took a step closer to peer over the edge of the frame, and fell through.

I spiraled down, or was it up, but that didn't quite matter , the only thing that does was that I was now in a gap, a void of nothingness. Yet in that nothingness there was something, a room, floating above.

I watched the bottom of the room as I fell.

fell? Can this be referred to as falling? A feeling of weightlessness, but I also felt heavy, as though I weighted ten thousand tonnes. It felt as though I was falling through honey, but at the same time the room, which had once been so close, was now miles away.

A single thought ran through my head as I spiraled down.

"I'm going to die again".

The sound of an engine roared in my ears, the sounds of the entire world's trains exploded in my head.

I closed my eyes trying to find a way to stop the noise, but at one moment, what felt like all my nerves were being put in a vacuum, was now feeling cloth wrapped around it.

I opened my eyes to a familiar ceiling. I sat up and took in my surroundings once again, same bed, same pure white sheets, same nightstand with the drawer slightly open, same desk with a giant book on the table, same closet.

But one thing was different, the door was there, but this time I noticed that one of the strange symbols on the door was now readable.

It said.

[ Void ]

the word glowed a faint luminescent blue which was just bright enough to light up one section of the door.
