Chapter 21 Unfair Love

Chloe had a long dream, in which Laura still cherished and loved her as she was a little kid.

But soon everything changed. Somehow Kevin looked at her coldly with a creepy smile, so creepy that she couldn't even breathe.

He suddenly opened his mouth and swallowed her like an evil dark monster...

When Chloe woke up, Daniel was still sleeping beside her. After her rebirth, they slept together for the first time. Chloe looked at him in a trance and even forgot why they slept together.

But that didn't really matter, right?

Chloe smiled and sat up slowly, ready to go back to her room.

But before she opened the door, it was opened by someone else suddenly.

"Why are you here?"

"As Daniel's fiancee, why can't I be here?"

"How, how can you sleep with Daniel!" Sasha was dressed up in a delicate dress. Obviously, she paid attention to her clothes and came to Daniel especially. Now she was even wearing an apron, which indicated that she just cooked in the kitchen.

What trick was she playing again? Trying to win Daniel over by cooking for him?

Childish! Feeling funny, Chloe let out a chuckle.

"What are you laughing at?" Sasha pointed to Chloe, full of jealousy. "Very well then. You scared me away last night just to have a chance to sleep with Daniel. You scheming woman!"

Upset by Sasha's absurd accusation, Daniel interrupted her at once, "One more word and I will send you back immediately, Sasha."

His tone frightened her, so she closed her mouth at once. But instead, Sasha stared at Chloe with hostile eyes, blaming everything on her.

Chloe couldn't care less. She gently pushed Sasha away and walked towards the elevator.

Sasha took the opportunity to look inside the room but was blocked by Daniel.

Sasha had to raise her head, asking him gloomily, "Daniel, you said that you didn't like Chloe. Why are you defending her?"

"Why do you think I'm defending her?" Daniel answered casually, then he warned, "This is my room. You can't come in without my permission."

The next second, Daniel closed the door.

"Daniel, I made breakfast for you. I shall wait for you downstairs!" Sasha shouted before the door was closed completely.

Chloe was such a bitch! Sasha swore that she must prove she was way better than Chloe!

While Chloe took a taxi and went to the hospital.

After knowing Kevin was in hospital and seeing how worried Laura was, Chloe thought at least she should pay Kevin a visit. After all, he was her half-brother.

As she arrived at the hospital, a nurse came over with a wheelchair, "Miss Chloe, please sit in the wheelchair. Mr. Bruce told us to provide this for you when you came to the hospital."

After taking a glance, Chloe wondered when this jerk became so thoughtful.

"Thank you then." Sitting in the wheelchair, Chloe asked the nurse to take her to Kevin's ward.

As she went in, Kevin was sitting on the bed and working on the laptop. While Laura was paring the fruit for him.

On the table, there were some plates with fresh fruit on them. Clearly, Laura prepared the fruit especially for him.

While Chloe got nothing when she was in hospital, except that Grandpa Johnson called her several times and gave her more money. Ben didn't even know she was sick since he was occupied with scientific research. And that was it.

Every time she thought of these, Chloe felt very sad.

"Your daughter is here." Kevin noticed Chloe first, which somehow made Chloe more frustrated.

But Chloe calmed down quickly. She wore a bright smile and came in.

"What are you doing here?" Laura asked coldly.

Chloe didn't want to have a quarrel with Laura in the hospital. So she lowered her voice, "I am here to visit Kevin."

Then she put the flowers on the table.

But Kevin didn't bother to take a look. He focused his eyes on the laptop, "Thank you."

"Mom, are you still mad at me?" Chloe tried to comfort Laura.

She knew Laura was furious about her cancellation of the engagement banquet. But she didn't expect Laura would be angry for so long.

She wanted to make peace with Laura but obviously, Laura didn't think so.

"Mom, it's been more than two months now. Please forgive me. I promise I won't make the mistake."

"We are in the hospital. Don't you think you are a little noisy?" Laura was still giving her a hard time, her words like a sharp thorn piercing right into Chloe's heart.

Chloe took a breath and smiled, "Mom, I know it's all my fault. I also apologized to Daniel. But I'm your loving daughter. Don't you even forgive your lovely daughter?"

Laura looked at her in disbelief, "You really know where you were wrong?"

Seeing Laura turning soft, Chloe nodded at once, "Mom, I do. I will never upset you again. Please forgive me!"

Laura didn't say anything, which was a big step for Chloe.

Now she felt much better and wanted to have some fruits on the plate.

Confined in the wheelchair, she had some difficulties standing up and getting the fruit.

Bang!

The plate fell to the ground into pieces and the fruits got dirty, rolling everywhere.

"I'll clean it up. I am sorry." Chloe apologized at once, bending down to pick them up embarrassed. But as she lowered her head, she felt dizzy. She didn't have anything in the morning.

"Move away! Look what you have done. You just caused me more trouble." Laura cleaned the mess ahead of Chloe.

Chloe parted her lips, wanting to apologize again and explain for herself.

"Chloe, you are disturbing me," Kevin said in a very polite and gentle tone. But his words were sharp as a knife.

Before Chloe opened her mouth again, Kevin put his index finger against his lips, indicating that Chloe should stay quiet and silent.

Now she knew she wasn't welcome here.

Laura's gaze shifted from Chloe to Kevin, her face freezing like ice. Then she made up her mind.

Chloe watched herself being pushed out of the ward to the elevator by Laura.

"I'll leave you here and you can go now. Don't come to us again."
