293 Plans for Halo-Earth

After the small activation of the Galactic restart button and the subsequent deactivation I hurriedly went back to the armada and got them to lower their activation level and also ordered them to let the engines have a break from the constant energy pull of the Multiversal drives.

From here I had to go meet the remaining heads of the UNSC and establish contact with them. These members included Halsey, The Admiral and a single member of Military Command. Supposedly the Covenant had targeted high strategic value targets, they were the first to die and ultimately that is what left the Military floundering in response as the watch master at the time was currently dealing with assassins from the Covenant. Needless to say, the global government was gone, order was in shambles and very few qualified people were remaining to look after Earth, let alone the outskirts of the galactic dominion of Humanity.

They were all worried over the possible outcomes for them if they did not find a way to lessen tensions or if they did not find a way to strengthen their position in the galaxy. There was a lot of talk on possible troop movements, economic sector changes, rationing, etc... I was slowly starting to lose focus on their bullshit when a question was thrown my way.

"What do you think of our situation President Emelia...?" This was from Admiral Terrance who was eyeing me with a small amount of frustration and pleading. It seemed he wanted me to help them in some way.

"Your situation is doomed. You will either lose control of your outlying territories and flounder to gather them back, or you will struggled with maintaining control of Earth as several new terrorist groups, rebels and factions will arise. The only option I see for you all is to, at minimum, form a trade relationship with my Imperium. At most you will have to join my Imperium and become a nation-sate underneath our Global Government."

Silence filled the small meeting chamber as they mostly looked at me with pain and frustration welling on their faces. Yes they had killed an elder and prevented a catastrophe from occurring but they had lost a large portion of Earth's defence fleet, defences in general and their civilian population. Fucked, they were positively fucked without me being here and they knew it... It showed in how they acted around me and the fact that they were even considering my offer. Terrance looked completely taken by the deal and stared out hopefully towards his fellow 'council' members.

Halsey looked as if she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, her intense desire of a place to continue her research mixing with the dislike of overarching power above her. She looked at me as if I could giver some assurances, but i gave her no such indication as I simply closed my eyes and waited for their answer. The other two council members were divided, one was firmly in favour of joining the Veritas Imperium, the other staunchly against even considering it. For the most part the decision was already made, Halsey's decision being something given of curtesy.

"Can you assure us of our people's rights?" This was what came from Halsey, her play obvious. She was hoping to play the whole 'civilian rights' and dogmas thing. I rolled my eyes within my mind as I quickly nodded.

"Of course, all laws that have been implemented by your people before, those that do not conflict with Global Law, will be retained and maintained."

"Mmm, okay, what about the help you will offer us if we were to join?"

"You would be sent over 10,000 Peace Keeping forces and the one hundred ships in orbit currently. They will gather all of the Humans on the various planets and bring them back to Earth, where we will start rebuilding society. The Veritas Imperium, with this world as its new land, would invest heavily into increasing the domestic production of all sorts of items, weapons and luxuries. This world would become an Agri World temporarily until you have an economy large enough to sustain more advanced industries, such as trade, research, technology, Engineering, etc... From there, you would have to adopt the system of governance that we have, that being a Republic, you will have a single leader for the entire planet, voted on by the entire population of this Earth. This representative will then be required to meet on Terra for annual and semi-annual government meetings where you will be judged by your contributions to society and rewarded as such. Considering you are a war-torn world this reward would be more of a stipend and dispersal of aid."

All of them were looking at me in stunned resignation as they considered all of the factors I had just spoken on. The governance changes were a massive undertaking by themselves, let alone the relocation of millions, possibly billions, of people from the Outer Planets. The political situation would be enough to make even grown men cry, let alone the economic strain on the entire government.

"W-what about the lack of personnel and defences?"

"We would cover that, of course. We can immediately deploy several thousand staff for the purpose of getting your government up and running again. Before that we would deploy soldiers and automatons across the entirety of the planet to initiate temporary martial law."

Bright, hopeful eyes met my own as I watched them all see the light at the end of the tunnel. In my mind I laughed at their simple nature, give them enough benefits and possibilities and they will ultimately bend to your power... Now to truly conquer them you must not only show the blade but also the blossoms. I would slowly start spreading the Veritas Imperium's culture to their world and convincing them of our way of life. Following that I would then start injecting the ideal of the Imperium into them and ultimately creating so many jobs, industries and possibilities that they would soon find themselves becoming Veritas Citizens, not only in name but in culture.

...

After that meeting they had agreed to merge with the Veritas Imperium. Much like I had stated previously the 100 ships began to defend the Sol system as well as go out and gather a large amount of people from the outer planets. They were able to do this with the aid of the beam technology as it could individually save patterns and process them, allowing for nigh-on-perfect re-materialisation.

Thousands of staff members started to prepare within Atlantis as I placed down a Star Gate with the Multiversal add-on. From there the Imperium started to churn and stir, entire segments of industries on Atlantis began to produce more as food stores began to siphon out through the Stargate to supply the remaining population of Halo-Earth. Soldiers from the fleet stayed on the planet as a steady flow of soldiers and police began to flow backwards and forwards. Within a week the planet would be completely stable and thriving, this would definitely be true as I also placed down several City-Ships and handed control over to advanced AI system, made by my own Rune Magic; to ensure safety and security.

Now it was time to go back home and spend time with my children, i had been away too long and my wives were probably also getting a bit frustrated... If you know what I mean... 😏
