Invasion (Part 2)

Emelia continued to consume the energy beams of the ship as everyone else in the team decimated entire legions of enemies that dropped, jumped and flew from the troop carriers.
The carriers, snake-like creatures with hundreds of telephone-pole sized teeth, were all being challenged by someone on the team, several already layed out across the city, dead. Following in the footsteps of those dead creatures came the Chitauri themselves who ere currently throwing themselves as the defenders of the city, people and aliens dying in untold numbers.
The constant raining of energy stopped abruptly as a low rumbling thunder and lightning set in from the direction in which the Chitauri ship was firing. Behind Emelia a massive storm front appeared from the sky. Lightning crackled and blistered the sky with their light as the surroundings area quickly became cloudy and gloomy. Many on the team and even American Civilians were confused all looked in the direction, especially Thor who found this storm odd and unnatural.
From the sky four Asgardian Ships from Atlantis descended into view, their sleek curved architecture making the ships seem more advanced and powerful than any possible counter.
The Chitauri ship's weaponry quickly changed their targets and began to lob energy projectiles at the Atlantean Ships. With an earth-shattering peal of thunder and lightning the Atlantean Ships shot several volleys of concentrated neutronium rods at the Chitauri Ship, at half the speed of light.
To Emelia the sight was spectacular and was played in slow motion, to everyone else though there was nothing, which then exploded. The rods were Instantly ignited with a bright blue flame that trickled along the the circumference of the circular rods. These blue flaming rods then, without stopping at all, collapsed onto the vague outline of the Chitauri ship's shielding, perforating them within Nano seconds. What followed was absolute desolation and pwnage. The hull of the ship rippled like a stone entering calm pong water as previously cold metal turned to bright orange slag within a Nano-second. The hull fractured and split as bursts of orange, blue and red flames leapt from the remnants of the ship's internals. Aliens could be seen falling from several places as they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Smoke then began to billow out, a second later, as the Chitauri ship was utterly crippled and malformed. The internals were so damaged infact that the ship was heading towards the Ocean just outside of the city of New York, in a spiral.
The Atlantean ships, ignoring the plight of the alien vessel, began to assist people, rescuing them from rubble, fires, gunfights and many other situations via beaming technology. Tens of Thousands of people were saved and given aid by first responders and, now, the military; that was late in arriving.
The sound of fighting began to slow down and vanish into mild distant whispers of conflict, the Avengers all gathering around Hawkeye who was breathing heavily on the ground as he blead from his stomach and several other spots.
(Switching to 1st Perspective)
I came up to Hawkeye, the man huffing and puffing as if he had ran a marathon without any clothes and in a desert. Everyone else looked a little battered, except me of course, the only person not even scratched or wounded being Loki who sat to the side with a green toothpick in hand, jabbing into his mouth in an effort to 'clear' them.
"You had a tough time? I, really didn't seem to notice..." (Loki)
"Yeah, yeah, your a badass... We get it punk, at least we took down some carriers, the fuck did you do?" (Tony)
"Now, now, let us all calm down, there is no need for that type of language. We should all be celebrating!" (Cap)
"Men..." (Nat) She rolled her eyes as she began to walk over to Hawk eye and bandage him up a little. I walked over as well and dropped some healing onto him to make sure he could make it back to his wife and kids. That received a little bit of a glare from Nat, her head turning as she pouted somewhat, thinking I couldn't see her face.
"H-hey guys, I'm all good now. Did we win!?" Thor yelled out from the other side of the roadway as he blasted away some rubble that had fallen on top of him. He was dishevelled and a little dirty but other than that he hardly had a scratch on him. I was slightly surprised by the display but shrugged it off as i knew he was one for fighting and would never decline to meet someone or something in strength.
'Fortunately this wasn't the version where there is a portal and everything, that would have been very difficult for them to deal with, especially given the hard mode that was given to this universe in specific, with most things.'
"Yeah we won, Point Break." (Tony)
"Point Break?" (Thor) He looked around in confusion as Tony's smile increased in intensity.
"Don't worry about it." (Nat)
Shaking my head at their antics I went around and checked everyone for wounds, damage, infection and any signs of diseases. I found nothing and honestly that was relieving, seeing as how Cap and Nat had been dealing with Hydra a lot i thought it was possible they could have been controlled by Hive without me knowing. The conversation turned jovial and small talk now ensued, with Tony suggesting we all go get Shawarma. The team agreed and in the aftermath of the whole entire conflict we went and ate some Shawarma at a small shop, the owners cooking for us as they had been watching the entire fight from their upstairs' home's window.
Whilst we were all sitting around the sound of sirens and wailing of children and people, it was a sombre meal at best but it was something.

I felt a radical shift inside myself as another Domain came under my purview and i levelled up some more. Honestly the rewards were kind of meh in comparison to Skadi's efforts. I wouldn't rebuff them, rewards are rewards, but it just seemed to trigger my Indifference. The domain was nice as i felt it could be used with my Gate of Babylon, which by the way, was now holding one hundred Chitauri staff weapons. The change was minor but allowed me to summon it from anywhere within my domain, which was only limited by my mana, which was enormous, so... Good luck to my enemies i suppose.
I took another bite of the Shawarma i had gotten, the taste was descent but nowhere near five star level, not even in the same universe as my own cooking. Snapping myself away from the food for a second I quickly looked over my status page and saw the free passive. I had to admit i was slightly intrigued and had a healthy amount of positiveness coming from this option on my status sheet so i decided to inquire about it.
'Skadi, can you tell me what the system says about the '1 free passive' option?'
[Sure Emelia! It basically says you can get whatever passive you wish within the Store. No matter the cost. It does however have a warning that just because some passives sound good doesn't mean they are, or that they won't negatively affect you.]
'Mmm, okay, thanks.'
[No probs, I'm going back to what i was doing!]
I mulled over the idea for a time as everyone around me was acting lively and eating their food. I just decided to do it when someone asked me a question.
"Hey, wing lady, what was up with those ships that came in to stop that alien ship?" (Hawk)
"O-oh, me? Yep, kay, well they were space ships from my nation of Atlantis. We got them from some allies in another universe." I wasn't technically lying but it was still bending the truth a little.
"Wow! Really? That's the weirdest thing I've heard all day and I've been fighting Aliens." (Cap)
"Crazy..." (Nat and Hawk)
"Emelia, did you just say that you had Alien Tech all this time and didn't share it with me!?" Tony was livid and was naturally waving his Shawarma around like it was a cane or something to poke me with.
"I could have done so much with that! Maybe even made a new suit, new building, maybe even a new material!"
"Oi! Shut up! I was about to hand you a citizenship to my nation just before we got interrupted, i was about to give you a teleporter to come to Atlantis and play around with tech..."
This caused some silence as everyone was looking away as if the destroyed streets of New York were much more interesting to look at.
"Really? All right then."
Everyone else facepalmed or sighed with his answer as they didn't know how good of friends we were, only knowing that Tony was an obnoxious asshole, which now that i thought of it, was probably the reason we were friends... I could take jokes and shit easily, without being offended, and he enjoyed the challenge.
Shaking my head I took another bite into the sadness that was my meal, my mind trying to focus on the passive selection that i had in front of me.
