Chapter 156- The Might of The Martial Way!

A beautiful and refreshing river was flowing through the ground and rocks, giving the much-needed sustenance to the lands, granting it the ability to grow a plethora of plants and vegetations that the people living on the lands consumed.

Its water was pure, unspoiled, and crystal-like clear as light could pierce through it easily and the water could reflect everything clearly on its surface, giving an invigorating feeling and joy to anyone who took a view of it and hearing the crisp sound of its flowing waters.

The fishes swam energetically as they popped out of the water from time to time, creating rippling waves, enchanting the still-like beauty of the river, while the butterflies and dragonflies spread their wings apart and flew above the clear running waters, enriching and complimenting its sublimity.

However, when one looked deep into the river, one could faintly see some sort of a figure in the depths of the river. It was floating completely still just a few meters above the riverbed with something that looked like a rope that was tied to it.

If one dived deep into the river and swam closely, one could see that the figure was actually a human being with long black hair. He had his eyes closed and was shirtless, showing his beautifully defined muscles all over his body.

He was also seemingly floating underwater in a lotus position.

How on earth he managed to accomplish such a feat was a mystery.

if that was only the case, then it wouldn't be too ridiculous. However, looking at the person carefully, there was a metal vest strapped on his upper body with the number "10" shown on it. There were also iron bracelets on each of his hands and legs with the same number on them.

However, the most conspicuous thing was the ropes that were tied on both of his legs. They stretched down to the riverbed and were bound two massive and heavy rocks that seemed to rest just atop the riverbed.

If they looked very meticulously, however. The two big rocks were actually floating just a few millimeters above the riverbed and weren't touching it at all, which meant that the figure had resisted the downward pulling force of all the body weights and the rocks while calmly floating underwater!

This was Liu Guanyi's amazing ability as a martial expert.

Even without constantly propelling himself up or moving his limbs like other humans, he could effortlessly float in the water without any problem even while he was enduring all those incredible weights that weighed more than a dozen of tons.

Also, unlike the other frail and weak humans and other terrestrial creatures, Liu Guanyi could stay underwater for a very long time without the need of taking a breath, even longer than many sea creatures like whales, dolphins, and the likes.

Firstly, this was due to his incredible lungs.

Since his lungs were refined and perfected with his inner energy, its capability was maximized and improved by dozens of times, making Liu Guanyi able to draw so much breath into his lungs and save it up.

Secondly, his whole body was far superior compared to other humans.

Although his body weight was similar to other people, the strength that he could exert was much greater for every bit of muscle and the ratio of energy he had to expend for it, even to the strongest human in the tower, like the infamous Ha family and the princesses of Zahard.

At the moment, Liu Guanyi could lift up something that was more than one thousand times of his own body weight, an unbelievable and impossible feat for a human being!

If it was compared to the strongest creatures on earth, Liu Guanyi was stronger than the most powerful ant, the leafcutter ant. The ant species that could lift up something around fifty times of their own body weight.

He was stronger than the rhinoceros beetle, the beetle species that could lift something up to eight hundred fifty times of their own body weight.

And Liu Guanyi was tied up with the dung beetle, as the strongest creature on earth!

The species that could lift something up that was around one thousand one hundred forty-one times of their body weight, an absurd amount of strength!

Although it wasn't as incredible as it seemed on earth as it was in the tower since there were many ancient monsters out there that could exert much more strength and body weight ratio compared to Liu Guanyi at the moment.

However, it had to be kept in mind that Liu Guanyi had only been climbing the tower for merely thirty years. What did this imply?

It meant that his potential was immeasurable as he would progress to be much and much stronger in the future!

If he could achieve this level in just three decades, what kind of level he would achieve in a hundred years?

Even more, what Liu Guanyi would become after five hundred years, no… what he would be capable of after a thousand years?

Or more extremely, what kind of monstrous creature he would become after five thousand years?

If Ha Yurin, the matriarch of the great Ha family saw this, even she couldn't help but become impressed!

Thirdly, his body was completely different from any other creature.

Every single human or creature needed to breathe to live. Of course, there were some exceptions, but they were very few and far in between.

Even the most physically powerful creature in the tower, the most gifted among Ha family descendants, still needed to breathe oxygen from shinsu.

This was because no matter how strong their bodies were, they were still humans and their bodies still had to operate like normal humans albeit with much greater resilience and durability that far surpassed the normal humans.

Yet, they still had to breathe, eat food, and sleep nonetheless.

For Liu Guanyi, however.

With inner energy or lifeforce, even if he had expended all of the air in his lungs and he couldn't breathe to refill it, his body could still work normally and he could effortlessly survive for a long time!

A law-defying act that completely broke apart the common understanding of biological science!

This was because of the lifeforce.

As it named suggested, lifeforce is the energy that supported a being to be able to live. Every creature had it but only people who walked on the Martial Way were able to control and manipulate it to their will.

To weaponize it to increase their martial prowess, or to use it to bolster their defense and resilience.

In Liu Guanyi's case at the moment, it was to fill up the need of his body for oxygen with his very own lifeforce, completely erasing his need to breathe as long as he still had the inner energy!

This was his might as someone who had successfully treaded on the Martial Way…

This was the might of the Martial Way!
