Two Queens

Arriving back at the inn they went about the rest of the night until eventually sleeping after their usual routine. Lying next to Xilo, Xelfia grabbed his arm as she shoved it against her chest while she tried to sleep. Letting darkness fill the room she listened to the soft sounds of breathing as she struggled to go to sleep. With a bit of time passing she felt herself slip away into sleep, sadly it didn't last long. Within a few hours she felt herself waking up again. "Annoying." Feeling a bit frustrated she got up slowly in order to not wake anyone as she left the room, unaware of the pair of eyes that followed her movement.

"Maybe some air will help."

It was rare for her to not be able to sleep well since she found Xilo long ago. Walking down the hall Xelfia walked to the back as she entered the yard that was there. It was a simple little flower garden with a small place to move your body and a couple benches to sit on. Taking a seat on one of them Xelfia stared at the flowers surrounding her as she took some deep breaths. They were all quite common flowers found in the world but looking closely they were cared for a lot. With her head resting in her hands she let the silence of the night engulf her.

Feeling some peace the energy in her body calmed down as it flowed smoothly soothing her senses. Enjoying that sensation for a few minutes Xelfia stopped paying attention to the world around her as a set of footsteps creeped up on her. Grabbing her long red hair Xelfia twirled it around her thumb as she let some time pass around her. It was a rare moment that she wanted to be alone so she enjoyed it while she could. However in the next second she heard a voice break into her little world.

"You...Alright..Xelfia?"

It wasn't the voice she expected though as she turned around. Standing behind her wasn't Xilo like she might have thought it would have been, instead it was a blue twin tailed girl. "Relia?" There was something different about her though she ignored that fact as she called her over. Watching her walk over and sit down next to her Xelfia smiled as Relia stared up at the night sky. In the silence Xelfia didn't say anything for a couple minutes as they sat there. Letting go of her own hair, Xelfia finally said something after five minutes of silence.

"I'm alright I think, just in a weird mood. What about you, why are you out here?"

"Followed...you..thought you might...want someone..to..talk to.."

"I'm happy to hear that but you aren't really Relia are you, so why not drop the act."

Feeling a jolt of danger run up her spine Relia looked at Xelfia as she felt a bit flustered. "Scary!" That smile that was currently staring at her wasn't the usual smile full of Confidence and care Xelfia had. This one had intent to attack at any second. Feeling her skin crawl, Relia took a deep breath as she composed herself. She had seen a lot of the world in her time in it but rarely did she feel afraid. Xelfia was one of the few people who could inflict such fear but she didn't quite understand why. There wasn't anything special about her from what she could tell, Xelfia was just a normal Astral Walker.

"How could you tell once more, I thought it was perfect."

"As I thought, it was you. I haven't seen you in a long time. So why are you here then?"

"Ignoring my question just to ask another...You're quite annoying. I'm not here for any reason besides seeing you leave and getting curious. The other Relia is currently sleeping so I decided to take control for once. Any problems with that?"

"Quite a few but I'll leave it alone for now."

Leaving it at that Xelfia stopped talking to Relia as she went back to looking at the stars. Seeing herself getting ignored by Xelfia, Azalu felt frustration run through her blood as she stomped her foot in anger. "Damn weakling, ignoring me. This is what I get for trying to be nice!" She was one of the most powerful people in the world at one point and cared for no one. Now here she was getting ignored by a weak beast that wouldn't have even been able to breathe in her presence. She was even trying to be nice too, which stung the most.

"So what's the matter Xelfia, can't sleep?"

"I'm in no mood for fakes."

"If you don't want to accept my kindness for what it is then at least pretend I'm not here and talk to the wind or something. I can't be awake for long and eventually you'll have to drag Relia back on your own."

"You're quite stubborn, you know that?"

"You're far from one to talk to me about stubbornness."

Getting fed up with Xelfia, Relia almost thought about walking away and going back to sleep. "This is what I get for trying." Talking to other people was far from one of Azalu's strengths and when it came to being nice it was even lower. The most she had ever talked to one person was Relia even throughout her entire life. Azalu was a loner throughout most of it, most people she met tried to kill her without saying a word. Eventually she just started to kill everything in sight and lost all care for anything else besides power. That was still the case even now as she lived in Relia. "Power is everything in this world." Feeling some anger at the memories that were surfacing Azalu gripped her hands tightly as Xelfia sighed and finally decided to speak.

"Fine, let's play pretend for a little bit shall we. You seem to be good at that after all."

Enjoy.
