Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? The Links They Need

Watching her father's assistance and other successor's backers leave one by one she was a bit disappointed with them but left it at that as she walked towards the throne and stood in front of her father as they glared at each other behind a smile. This is what they're bond had become, Disappointment and deceit. "Why?" Repeating that question she didn't wait for her father to speak as she begun the conversation.

"I'm back."

"...This isn't your playground, Please do try and remember that next time before you interrupt me and tell my people to leave."

"Oh? Your people?"

Hearing her father's backtalk she wanted none of it right now. There was a lot of work to be done the next couple weeks and he wasn't going to help with his insults.

"Haaa.....Is the boy awake?"

"Indeed besides being roughed up quite a bit he should be fine for the most part."

"Seems my work wasn't for nothing then, Is he as suitable for a link as you thought he was?"

"Yes, I don't see any problems so far."

"Good I don't need another one dying on us and delaying us once again."

"That wasn't my fault."

"uh uh."

Remembering the girl she had before Xilo showed up she felt a tinge of pain and regret remembering how she died. "It's your fault after all, old man." However she ended up taking all the blame for it resulting in her losing any outside help she had before and the ability to even leave their cage once again. Without a Link they were stuck in this area never allowed to leave and explore the outside world, Fortunately they were able to overcome such a thing with links otherwise known as people from the outside world that helped stop them from fading away whenever they left while they were also the key to entering a tomb left behind from their ancestors long ago after they were nearly wiped from this world's existence in a war.

The only problem with this solution and method was that it was rare to find people or Astral Beasts that managed to stumble into their territory that were compatible enough to use. It had taken her over ten years or so to find another one and that was simply because of a stroke of luck. Which was why she was going to be extra careful this time around with Xilo to make sure the same thing didn't happen. "So many others died too..." She could still remember the carnage her linked caused that day all thanks to her fathers doing. "Damn overdose." If he didn't give her too much medicine it never would have happened. "Though I should have checked..." But that was all in the past now, all she had to do was make sure she protected the boy and she already had some plans in mind.

"So, do you need anything else from me?"

"I do..."

Listing a couple things she needed in the future she also made sure to throw in random things here and there that didn't make any sense. After finishing that she sighed as she turned around not even waiting for her father's reply and walked out of that room as fast as she could. "So stuffy." If she had a choice she would never enter there but for appearances sake and to make sure obtained the things she needed she had too. "He's the only one strong enough to get what I want...." The rest of the things she could get herself but there was one thing she needed from him that only he could get. " Pure Curel's blood." That was the key to making sure Xilo could use his strength again one day and potentially those blades.

"If even he struggled against them now just imagine when the boy's stronger...." Getting lost in her thoughts she shut the door behind her as she heard her father shout in the distance but ignored it as she made her way back to Xilo. "Don't disappoint me." Sitting alone in the room Xilo felt his body begin to heal at alarming speeds even for him as he looked around trying to figure out where he even was but truthfully he didn't really care. "I wonder if they'll kill me?" Yet even that thought didn't produce much out of him besides some relief maybe. He had already caused enough death in his life and he was tired of it. "From the looks of it she wants me to do more fighting.." Even if that woman seemed a little off to him, he still felt a violent impulse coming off her body that wasn't normal for most people to have.

"And the way she drank my blood..." She acted like it tasted good after trying it and that was definitely something that sent shivers throughout his body. "She's a weird one.." However even with all those factors combined he was still the most confused about that smile she showed him. "it had to be a lie right, I mean why else would she look so....Broken." when she was alone in the room with him he happened to notice how lonely she seemed but he just couldn't understand it. "She's playing with me, she has to be." No one who seemed that lonely could be that violent. "Right...?" Telling himself that he heard another set of footsteps approaching as he braced himself.

From the sounds of it she seemed to be coming back again. "i'll remember this sound." A few seconds later he was correct as he watched her silver hair show up in front of the bars once more and greet him. Looking at the boy she scanned his body to check up on his progress. After a couple seconds though she was left slightly speechless as she checked again to make sure she wasn't going crazy but even then it stayed the same.

"He's fully healed...what?"

She had no idea how such a thing even happened or even possible for that matter.

Enjoy.
