The First Event Of Many

With the Queen and Keltal gone it was just Xilo and Zilan's groups left.

"I'm surprised you're here Zilan, didn't you say you were going to do some stuff when we parted?"

Gliding his hand through his hair Zilan laughed while Marie beside him rolled her eyes. They were doing things however Zilan had insisted they come here for a little fun which her and twins eventually agreed to. Smiling at Marie, Zilan did his best to explain himself. There was one condition in them coming here and that was they had to stay unknown. With the little event just now with the Queen though that could be hard. "Just arrived and already broke the rule." From now on he would have to be a little extra careful. He had also had plans to see if he could talk with Felli at all as well.

"I did, we're just taking a few days break, though I won't be signing up for any of the events using my actual name. Rather not get recognized on the off chance we run into some unsavoury people."

"I didn't think stuff like this was your style. Glad to have you here though."

Stretching out his hand, Xilo offered his friend a handshake.

"It's not my first pick, the rewards are just a bit too much to pass up. Speaking of which, you should probably check out what the Queen gave you. I'm sure there's plenty of goods in there for you to use to get stronger. With the first event coming up soon, we're going to go get ready for it. It's a competition about creating defences so Sarin and Darain will be entering that. Will you be joining in at all? Surely one of the girls or you has a decent defense right?"

"Hahaha....haaa..."

Awkwardly laughing Xilo turned to the girls behind him to see if any were willing, they all stayed silent though. "I do have Ice myself..." Forming the shield on his arm he tossed the idea around in his head a little bit before deciding. He knew his defense would be weaker than most considering his Path but it was worth a shot to see just how weak it was in comparison. With none of the other girls wanting to he left them be as he turned to Zilan and pointed at himself. These competitions were all chances to win something so competing in more was always a good idea. There wasn't a limit on them and they were all fairly quick with how they were set up.

"I'll be giving it a go but I don't think I'm going to get very far, I'm kinda weak in that area."

"Worth a shot, oh right I also wanted to talk with Telan a bit. I saw him with you earlier, where is he now though?"

Checking for Telan, Xilo didn't know when he had disappeared.

"I don't know, he was here when the crowd formed, so he shouldn't have gotten too far. Maybe he saw some old friends and wanted to talk with them?"

"Ehh it's fine, it can wait. Since you'll be competing as well, let's head down to the arena and prepare together."

"Sure."

With everyone in agreement their two groups headed to one of the stages that was a little ways away where people were gathering and getting ready for the very first event. Telan ran off when he saw the Queen leaving and followed her. He had a few things he wanted to talk about with her outside of anyone's ears. So once she was alone he spoke from the shadows. Stopping her steps at the sudden presence the Queen looked over at the shadow nearby. "A sneak attack?" Getting ready for a fight she saw a lazy man appear in front of her. "Oh." She recognized him instantly as her defense dropped a bit.

"Hello, Katrin."

"What are you doing sneaking up on me, Telan?"

"...I just wanted to talk with you a bit in private. I have a request I wanted to ask. My partner disappeared once we got to this City and I haven't seen him since. I was hoping you could maybe help me find him. I'm kind of worried."

"What does that have to do with me?"

She knew Telan but that didn't mean she cared enough to help him especially when she was so busy.

"His name is Aeon, I know it has at least a bit to do with you. That's why I was hoping you could help me find him."

Flinching hearing that name, the Queen stayed calm as she thought about her answer.

"Fine, I'll help look for him but I can't give any promises that I will. If you know about him enough to link him to me you should know how hard it is to find that man."

"I know..I'm just worried about him. Other than that I have some other things I wanted to report to you."

"Speak."

While those two talked, Xilo got up onto the stage with Sarin and Darain as they looked at all the other people practicing. None of them looked like pushovers and there were even a few people from the Wolf Weaver Clan participating. "They're up to no good." He could already see them looking over towards them. Even without them though there were a lot of people to be on the lookout for. Some were lifting giant boulders without a sweat or smashing sharp blades into shields the size of their bodies to practice. "I don't think I'm going to get very far." Compared to all their fancy shields or stone walls to protect themselves Xilo only had a flimsy Ice shield that would snap pretty fast.

"Are you two ready for this?"

""Yes.""

In an instant two giant walls spawned in front of XIlo.

"That's....impressive."

It only took them a few seconds and they were instantly able to surpass a lot of the people here with their defenses, though if they could actually defend as well was to be found out.

Enjoy.
