The Device

"Don't ignore me!"

Coming up behind Xilo she grumbled in her mind about his rudeness as she peered inside the chest to see what there was before giving up on it. "Nothing useful for me." She already had plenty of these things back at home except the small blue crystal that wasn't even her element however she wasn't too disappointed in that. "Finding my element is going to take a miracle." So she'd just let Xilo take them if he wanted them without bothering to fight for them. "Maybe Tearia will get some too." Looking at her as she slept in his arms peacefully she smiled already happy with her friend. "Would someone who hates you that much hold you with such care?" Maybe Xilo didn't know it himself or was aware but to her she could see it as plain as day.

"Want any of this?"

Turning to Felli behind him, he slightly grunted that out as he locked eyes with her as she smiled to herself however he ignored that as he stared at her.

"Nope all junk to me so keep it."

"...fine."

Not sparing her any other words he grabbed the things in the chest and put them into his bag as he struggled to keep Tearia safe. "She's lucky I don't just chuck her on the floor." Awkwardly struggling a part of him wondered why he was even going through so much trouble to do this but he still continued. After a minute or so of fumbling around he finally grabbed everything inside as he backed off and looked around the room full of bodies as a strong sense of disgust rose in his stomach. "More to the list...." Shaking off that feeling he turned to Felli who never stopped watching him the whole time and gave her a look over.

"How did you find me."

"Find you? oh, ahhhh. We didn't, I tried to find you before however i eventually lost track of you when we reached the basement floor then we stumbled around for a little bit until we arrived here. So to say we found you is a bit of a stretch. It's more accurate to say we just simply got lucky."

"Lost track of me on the basement floor?"

The only thing he could think of that happened was him using his Astral Darkness. "Hmm...something to keep in mind." He still knew little about it so it was good to get some new information out of it. "More importantly though they tried to track me." Even after what he did to Tearia she still tried to follow him. He didn't really know what to think about that however it made him slightly frustrated and relieved. "I need..." Hearing some rustling in the distance he stopped his train of thought as he grabbed Felli's hand and pulled her away. "People are coming and a lot of them." He didn't know who or why but it was better if they were out of sight if possible.

"Hey, what are you doing."

Feeling her arm get pulled she was too weak to resist Xilo's strength at the moment and ended up getting caught in his momentum as he rushed out of another door in the side of the room.

"Don't struggle, people are coming."

"What?"

Not even she sensed anyone right now leaving her confused. "If his detecting skills are that good...nevermind." Not bothering to finish that thought she let him pull her along as they left the room full of dead bodies. She wasn't complaining though, being in a room full of corpses still wasn't pleasant for her regardless of the amount of people she had killed and that was a relatively high number. "The hundreds." Even if she didn't want to, the number was beginning to near the thousands and that scared her. "If I can find that device, it'll make my life easier." Feeling a prick of impatience struck her for the first time in a long time she knew she was letting her emotions get the best of her once again. "Remember mothers words." Her mother taught her to control her emotions as a kid and to keep such thoughts hidden away, if not she might have broken long ago.

Staring at Xilo's silver hair she took a deep breath as she calmed down trying to find her mask of emotions as steps finally entered her ears along with shouts and voices. "So there really were people." If only she could make out what they were saying she could figure out who they were but the panic in their voices gave her a slight idea. However Xilo had already figured it out long ago as he heard the anger in one of their voices. "These people are everywhere here." He didn't know how many of them were here but everywhere he went those Clans seemed to be following him. "What kind of luck is this." Sighing he heard the angry shouts as the people back in that room searched the bodies for anyone still alive however they wouldn't be lucky. He made sure each of them was dead.

"heavy."

Shifting Tearia's body in his arm he made sure he didn't drop her as he essentially carried two people down a hall. "What am I doing." Still not quite sure why he hadn't ran away yet he made sure they were a safe distance away from that area until he finally slowed down.

"This should be far enough now, I think."

"I doubt they'll start searching for us right away so we have some time."

"Indeed, what are you going to do then?"

Looking at Felli as her hair began to cover her face he couldn't read her emotions as he she stood there. "Who are you..." He knew Tearia had made a friend with her but that didn't mean he trusted or knew her himself so it was better to get some information out of her where he could. Without it he may end up with a sword in his back.

Enjoy.
