Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Stopping for a second Xelfia though she heard a voice for a second but nothing else happened as she looked around.

"I need to get back to Xilo."

From the Dragon's words he seemed to be fine still but she still wasn't okay with it. She needed to hurry back as soon as possible so she picked up her pace again and sprinted towards the exit. "So many things on my mind." For herself and Xilo so many things were piling up on top of each other in their heads Xelfia wouldn't be surprised if they broke anytime soon. "We need to get out of here soon...Or who knows what might happen." But there was no more time for thinking as she saw the exit coming up into view after some time had passed.

Approaching the path with some hesitation in whether it would work or not she gently put her hand up to it and hoped for the best. A second later she felt herself being pulled forward as darkness entered her vision. Seeing it work she had no time to be happy as she pushed forward through the path towards Xilo. With a little more time passing she eventually saw signs of the exit and finally breathed a sigh of relief knowing she would be back once again. "Didn't take as long as I thought." She figured she might have been stuck there for a lot longer but thankfully that wasn't the case but she could do wrong about that since she couldn't quite tell the time.

Pushing forward she entered the same bright room as before where she saw Xilo standing in a corner near the spring of water quickly turning around to greet her a little heavy breathed and almost like he had been caught doing something he shouldn't have. "Weird.." This was the first time Xelfia had ever seen Xilo this way but she figured he might have been a little worried about her along with everything else so she paid it no further mind as she walked towards him.

"No." Instead of joy seeing Xelfia walk towards him Xilo felt fear and panic with each of her steps bringing her closer. However he was finally calming down at least so he shouldn't have to worry about Xelfia finding out completely but that didn't mean he wasn't worried she didn't see him before. "Another one so soon..." He had another episode of his emotions running wild with anger, hatred and madness that was getting harder to control. Thankfully he was able to keep this one under control this time besides a few small outbursts here and there. "Maybe it's all the stress recently." With so many things happening more than he was use to the only thing he could think of that was causing it was all the stress and different feelings he was experiencing constantly and these ruins weren't helping however that didn't mean he wanted to be seen like that.

He was ashamed of it simply put. "I Need to get better with my emotions if they are going to keep getting worse." But he didn't know how to so he could only hang on enduring the pain his body put him through hoping for the best. "Well hopefully another one won't happen anytime soon now. I'll think about it before then." Trying his best to settle his breathing Xilo forced a smile on his face as Xelfia finally arrived in front of him and hugged him yet even that caused him pain making him keep his voice in check as he endured it.

"Welcome back."

Controlling his voice he was able to sound normal as the pain began to fade while he felt some relief holding Xelfia in his arms. He didn't know how long she was gone but he missed her nonetheless.

"I'm back, though you seem a little tense are you alright?"

"I'm fine, just a little stiff from all that sitting, don't worry. More importantly what happened to you?"

"Oh okay..Well I....."

Retelling her story she went through what happened while they continued to hug and Xilo eventually fully calmed down as he listened coming back to normal until she was done as she detached herself and smiled at Xilo.

"Should you really be telling me this? He wanted to talk to you alone after all it seems."

"I'm sure it's fine. If he wanted me to keep it a secret he probably would have said so."

"True...though dragons? I thought he looked more like a snake then anything else but I guess I was wrong."

"From your description I thought the same along with my memory but maybe there are just two different types of them living together and he just happened to be that kind?"

"Maybe but I'm surprised those rumors were true after all."

"Rumors? what rumors?"

"Don't you remember? People were saying they heard a Dragon's roar deep inside the Astral Zone. Though I thought they were lying."

"Oh yeah I do remember that now but does that mean you'll help me?"

"I'll try my best."

"Thanks."

Hearing Xilo agree so easily Xelfia felt a little happy. She was mostly sure he would say yes but there was always that small possibility that he would decline but now that she heard his answer she could confidently go and fight the Spirit Dragon.

"But really...A whole cavern of Dragon caves and graves empty except for one."

"It's quite sad honestly."

"I can imagine. Maybe we'll visit here again someday and see if we can find that old dragon again."

"That'd be nice."

Staring at the path Xelfia went through some thoughts lingered in the back of Xilo's mind about the whole situation but he wouldn't be able to figure them out now unfortunately. Now they still had three paths left to check before they could finally leave this place.

"Well want to check the next door?"

"Sounds alright with me."

Grabbing her hand together they walked towards the center door that was next in line feeling a little more tired then they were used to.
