Path One

Watching Xelfia take the lead Xilo was forced to catch up to her as he looked around the room in wonder. Looking at all the different words he had never seen before and pictures he tried to put some of the meanings together in his head but none of them made sense besides the things he assumed were Astral beasts, everything else though lost him. "Why are there no Astral Beasts here?" Done looking around he scanned the room again in case he had missed anything the first time around but ended up with the same results as before. "Maybe it's just luck? Or is something keeping them from entering." But he was leaning toward being lucky more than anything.

"You seem eager."

Turning to Xelfia beside him and seeing her excited face took him by surprise a little and got him curious. Hearing Xilo tell her that she stopped for a second as she realized the truth in his words.

"You're right, though I don't quite know why."

"What's that mean exactly?

"I don't know but there's been this weird feeling in the air ever since I entered this room that's edging me on. Though it feels like it could be my imagination too. Don't you feel it as well?"

Taking a second to concentrate Xilo tried to feel anything that made him feel excited in the air but no matter how long he waited or how hard he tried nothing changed his mood as he walked.

"No, I don't feel anything myself. Maybe it is you though but just in case be a little careful okay? We have no idea what this place is or what is through each of the doors. If we aren't on guard we could be in for some serious trouble."

With that they finally reached the center of the room and had all three paths surrounding them equally on all sides. Stopping Xilo also stopped Xelfia from going any further as he looked at each one in turn.

"I'll keep it in mind."

"Good, now let's try and pick a path to go through. Do you mind trying to see if you can sense anything with your Astral Energy since it'll go further then mine?"

"No problem."

Concentrating Xelfia released her Astral Energy and impatiently sent it towards one of the doors to try and see what was beyond it but once she reached a path her Astral Energy stopped as it slammed against an invisible wall and sent a shock throughout her energy and hurt her.

"Ow."

Holding her head she felt pain run through her body slightly after that. Panicking Xilo grabbed Xelfia and turned her toward him making sure she was okay.

"Xelfia!, are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine just surprised me a little that's all."

"What happened?"

"There seems to be an invisible wall that blocks Astral Energy at the path from peaking through that attacked me."

Hearing her explanation Xilo assumed it was probably the same for all the paths as he looked back at them after letting Xelfia go after she seemed okay.

"So we can't probe them nor do we know anything about this so that just leaves blindly taking a guess now."

"Seems so."

"Then let's pick that path, Nothing else we can do standing around her anyway."

Pointing to the path at the left Xilo picked it at random and started heading towards it with Xelfia right beside him. Approaching the giant pathway he cautiously reached his hand forward knowing Xelfia got attacked the last time she got near one with her Astral Energy but his hand passed through with no issue. Feeling no pain or recoil he turned to Xelfia to beckon her forward and walked inside the once again dark hallway. Once inside he tried to use his Astral Energy to look around again but he received the same treatment as Xelfia the second he tried. In fact standing in this hallway almost felt like they were in a different world of their own almost.

"Seems there's something stopping us from using our Astral Energy in this hallway entirely."

"But I wonder what it wants us not to see?"

"We'll have to find out on the other side it seems."

Walking down the hallway they carefully made their way until eventually they saw a light slowly shining brighter in front of them. Seeing the exit so close they both sped up a little as they made their way to it. Once there though they still couldn't see on the other side of it except for the light that shined through.

"Looks like this is it."

"Well what are we waiting for?"

Looking at Xelfia's excitement Xilo felt it rubbing onto him a little bit as he plunged into the other side of the path with Xelfia right in front of him. However the thing waiting on the other side of the door caught them off guard they second they exited. In their view stood a similar room to the last except there was no pathways this time around and instead their were four pillars close to the corners where a giant red body coiled around each and every single pillar that connected all together to form one giant beasts that laid sleeping directly in front of them on the ground with wings near its back. But the second they laid eyes on its head its giant beady eyes opened and stared daggers into them as slight hisses escaped its mouth.

"That's....."

"One huge snake."

Watching it stare at them Xilo felt danger run throughout his entire body as every single part of him wanted to run away. Turning around he grabbed Xelfia quickly as he backed up towards the place they came and tried to go through it again before anything bad happened. But sadly no matter how much he tried nothing happened as he continued to pound at an invisible wall that wouldn't let them escape. It seems they were trapped in here with that giant thing until it died or they themselves.

"Fuck."

I changed doors to paths since that seemed way more fitting. Don't know how I got the two confused though honestly. Happens lol.

Enjoy
