Lurking Underneath

Sitting in the aftermath of the fight Xelfia and Tearia heard a few people running towards them after all the commotion they caused. "We need to leave." Grabbing Xelfia's hand she weakly dragged her towards the hole in the wall. Dealing with other people right now wouldn't get them anymore so it was best for them to leave while they could. Making sure they had everything with them Tearia jumped down into the streets and followed the trail their attackers left behind.

"Feeling any better Xelfia?"

"A little....thanks."

Her wound was closing with each passing second giving her some relief while they walked. It wasn't enough to let her do anything major anytime soon however it was good enough. "I can't believe...." Xelfia was still down on herself as she walked with Tearia. "Should have known how weak Tearia was." She had noticed it but had chosen to ignore it and because of that Kirel was gone now. "Xilo's going to be mad." She could already imagine what would happen if the two of them didn't get Kirel back. She just didn't know how they were supposed to do it in their current condition.

Hugging Kirel close to his body Xilo eyed Mason with a bit of caution. Unlike the other two this man was strong enough to be able to avoid detection and throw him around. "This is the dude who kicked us out." He recognized that smug smile that looked down on the world however he didn't know why he was after Kirel. "From the looks of it, he seems to have sent those people." Turning to Relda who had shown up he tried to get her attention but she ignored him as she paid full attention to the man she called Mason. "Seems like she's just as confused." He was slightly worried she wasn't on his side at first however that didn't seem to be the case.

"I'm not surprised someone like you doesn't know."

Rolling his eyes, Mason treated Xilo like an idiot.

"Then explain."

"That Fox you're holding is quite rare and way too good for a weakling like you. The power and position I could obtain with it is enough to give me an easy life. now hand it over like a good boy. Last chance."

Waving his hand at Xilo, Mason gave him a chance to hand the Fox over. If the boy chose to disobey then he would just kill him. Relda was here but she couldn't protect such a weakling from him. "Though she is oddly quiet." Relda was always a loud and more in your face kinda person so in a situation like this she should have been screaming in his face. "This isn't the right thing to do, etc" All those lousy words that had no meaning to him should have been grating his ears. Instead she had stayed dead silent ever since she had asked her first question. From the corner of his eye he watched as Relda stood there like a statue.

Xilo could feel Kirel recoiling against his body as she tried to hide herself as much as possible from the world. "Just more scum." Sighing, Xilo felt a little tired of this kind of person. The kind that saw something they wanted regardless of anything and decided it was theirs. If they couldn't get it by asking they would just take it by force. "He's strong." Regardless of how much Xilo hated this scenario he knew he would have to fight and probably lose his life if he wanted to protect Kirel. Holding the small Fox in his arms Xilo knew this would always be the way things were.

"I can't do that, sorry but I'm kinda known as a bit of a bad boy."

Once he finished his sentence he felt energy wrap around his body instantly trapping him and any movements he tried to make.

"I tried to give you a chance."

Keeping an eye on Relda, Mason walked forward towards Xilo as his energy began to crush his body into small little pieces. Each step caused the pressure to rise as Xilo struggled to move. Kirel felt the change in Xilo's energy as he desperately tried to move his body. She also felt something sinister hiding underneath it all, patiently waiting. Feeling slightly curious she tried to dig deeper before a flash of fear attacked it's body and she quickly gave up. Looking up at the man holding her she tried to calm her tiny body down as Mason arrived in front of Xilo with Relda never making a move.

"Mason, stop."

Finally speaking up Relda spat that out as the back of her throat rumbled slightly. She didn't want to have to attack a fellow Clan Mate but if he took another step forward she wasn't afraid to break her own self imposed rules. "They've helped us so much." Seeing him refuse to listen to her at all, she charged up a bit of wind behind her as she got ready to move her body. She didn't know for sure whether she could protect Xilo and the fox both but she would try. They had helped save a lot of their people and put themselves in danger for a bunch of strangers. Mason raised his hand ignoring Relda's threats as he grabbed at the fox. The boy was trapped and couldn't do anything, once he took the fox from him his body would explode into bits.

"I'd rather not."

Smiling, he reached out for the fox that was right before him. Relda charged forward the second his hand raised, aiming to protect Xilo. "Faster." She wasn't fast enough though as she approached a little slowly. Unable to move his body, Xilo felt his skin getting covered in a layer of earth that tried to invade his body. "He really is tough." Feeling the massive difference in their strength, Xilo knew he could only rely on cheap tricks now. "And Relda." Watching Relda come towards him, he felt a blade leave his body and pierce mason's hand catching him off guard. He would never win in a one on one fight with Mason however with Relda's help he had a chance.

"Ow!."

Pulling back Mason felt blood drip from his hand in surprise as Relda's fist smacked him in the face.

I was quite busy today but luckily able to get this out though a bit late, sorry.

Enjoy.
